Pink-Themed Worrywart?

Starting the year with an intriguing quote, eh?

Sometimes, I like pink things...

^^ Dontcha love his glasses?

FJ: (b) 1/2 corn cake (leftover). (l) McCkn, no bun; McDouble, 1/2 bun; 3 fries (too salty); coffee; mini-Krackel bar. (s) Fruit & Yogurt Parfait & water. (d) 2 servings of chkn tortilla soup (both servings with a few corn chips, only first serving w/cheddar cheese); 90calorie pack o choc chip things. (s) popcorn? 140calorie pack?

Tomorrow = Send off the Endless.com boots & hit campus to start/continue/wrap-up Spring syllabi.

Sorel Update: I like all three pairs I got from Endless.com. Seriously. And I was about to settle for the black-n-white ones even though they were a bit too big (ordered my typical size 9). Well, when I got up to Fargo on New Year's Eve, I decided that I would stop at Fleet Farm and Scheels and try on smaller sizes to make sure I should sorel go with the size 9.

Yea. Fleet Farm didn't have anything over an 7.5 or below a 10. They had a few Sorel-look-alikes and I thought about buying 'em just in case (plus they were $65ish compared to $100ish). Decided against that, and as I headed to Scheels, I remembered GANDER MOUNTAIN. Walked in, and I saw THEM (the boots to the left - Joan of the Arctic) along with a SIGN... $20 off all Sorels ($129 -> $109). Yippee Skippee. They only had the brown ones (they come in black & cream online at some places); however, the brown has black on the bottom and cream-colored fur on top. A perfect combo, in my opinion, of neutrals! I snatched up the size 8s, and they were a perfect fit. Now that I've worn 'em all weekend, I'm wondering if I should've gone smaller, but I bet the 7s won't allow me to wear whatever sort of sox I want. Just a guess. Anyhow...

So, the three from Endless will go back tomorrow. And I still only spent my allotted $100 on some warm boots, rated to -25 (which came in handy recently, if you know how chilly January started out for us upper Midwesterners).

Been keeping track of my food journal in a small notebook (perfectly located in my purse now). After the fact of having Coke Zero Vanilla (Svedka) Vodka drinks on New Year's Day, I've added "no more pop" to my New Year's resolution list (I may make the exception for mixed drinks, but I rarely drink those). Other things on the list: the food journal upkeep and either the Half or Full marathon in May in Fargo. Oddly, nothing on the list deals with house-hunting, dogs, or a new/used SUV. Hmph. I've either chosen things that are going to be simple to do or totally massive challenges. "We'll see."

Food Journal, thus far: (b) apples-n-cinnamon oatmeal w/2 pieces of toast (the bread I love is the Sarah Lee 45calories a slice kind! Yay!)... toast had yummy jam on 'em & I scooped the oatmeal on top. So crunchy and warm. Lots of water as my liquid; I'm out of coffee. Maybe I'll have some later when I'm traveling/shopping?

I know I have a lil' journal I could take w/me when I'm unable to get online, but I gotta find it first.

Some of the quotes/lines/sentences in God-Shaped Hole are really good, and, yea, I never thought I'd get into a fiction piece so easily. My sister-in-law (or sister? Both got me books) also got me Go Ask Alice, Who What, Wear, and Bitter is the New Black.

Once I get ready, I'm off to Fargo... I have two returns (at The Gap & Target) and I'd like to hit Fleet Farm/Scheels to try on size 8 Sorels. My heels are moving around in the size 9s I got; beyond that glitch, I adore the boots. It's supposed to be chilly for the next few days (temps hovering around the zero mark), so Sorels are my new best friends.

Happy New Year, all!

My Sorels are HERE. I just gotta pick 'em up at the campus mail center. ROCK ON. Then, it's errands, errands, errands.

Food Journal, thus far: (b) 2 cups o coffee w/carmel non-dairy creamer & agave sweetener + 2 pieces of toast (1 w/peanut butter, 2 with the jams I got for Christmas = Maine Blueberry & Pride of ND Strawberry Rhubarb... luv me some jam; I'm Joey from Friends, yo.)... Added later: (s) peachs-n-cream yogurt, (l) a few chips & crab salad dip, (d) 2-3 cups o ckn tortilla soup - first cup w/chips & cheese, second serving without, (s) super-light-butter popcorn.

I think my new "thing," resolution or not, will be to combine Bethenny Frankel's approach to food with a spattering of basic cardio (may train for Fargo Marathon... eeeek) and Body for Life's theory of intense cardio. I'd like to seriously do more yoga too; I should be able to throw that in with my nightly ritual of reading for an hour. OR maybe that should be my morning ritual?

And, as I said to Cheryl last night, I need to come up with a reward program. Like, when I lose 5lbs or eat right for a whole week, THEN I can buy clothes. {OR I'm also thinking of only using my second savings account (small one - only $75 goes in there per month) as the only money I can use for clothing. Sadly, that's quite the "diet" for my finances.}

In addition, I have GOT to get a living will figured out. And I want to transfer my MN teacher retirement monies into a Roth IRA a.s.a.p. I've been saying that I'd do these two freaking things for years. Sheesh.

This week may be the only week out of the whole year that I don't do anything academic/school-related. I think that's a good thing?

The Food Journal returns.
Only it's on a more public blog of mine, so maybe I'll be more accountable to it?

(b) breakfast. (s) snacks. (l) lunch. (d) dinner.
Today: (b) canadian bacon/egg/cheese "McMuffin" - generic kind from gas station & 20oz coffee (w/two non-dairy creams and 2 packets of sugar) that I drank half of... (s) miniature Kit-Kat, (l) homemade southwest ckn salad on yellow corn chips (ate half & chucked the rest because it didn't taste all that super) plus water to drink and then a 110calorie raspberry cheesecake yogurt (delicious!)... (d) chicken tortilla soup (made in crockpot with chkn, cilantro, stewed tomatoes, broth, green&red peppers, green chiles and black beans) with some cheddar cheese & about 10 yellow corn chips crushed on top - approximately 2 cups worth?, (s) mini-bag of Peanut M&Ms.

Someone wanna do the calorie count on all that? Thanks.

Changes to consider: Better snacks. Toast in the morning with coffee (peanut butter on a slice for protein?).
