| Happy Birthday to me! Technically I think I was born at four in the afternoon but I start the festivities at midnight. I'm sitting in Riverside at the bro's home, avoiding the Halo carnage happening on the screen behind me. The new Triplat home is making its way through a massive overhaul and we wanted to visit and be part of the action. Mom and Dad are flying over in a couple hours to BBQ and celebrate with us. The cousins are getting along swimmingly. When we arrived Jax immediately sat down next to Lena and hugged her. It was special. I fell asleep reading about Ray Kroc and Walt Disney and their humble beginnings and now I have a bit of late night energy. Did I mention how quiet it is when all the kids and pets are asleep? nice one. | | |
| Currently reading Finished reading another borrowed book club selection from my cool neighbor-flix friend. I have to say, I think this has been my favorite. Made me reconsider actually joining the club so I can put in my two cents. (I'm secretly hoping they will reconvene for another discussion of Travelers Wife.) Ahh... Henry and Claire and Chrono-Displacement Syndrome. Okay, no time to pine. It was heartbreaking and made me cry. The end. Husband and I are bolting through HP 1-6 and I'm on 4. I'm soooo immensely glad we decided to re-acquaint ourselves with the finer details. I now have many more unanswered questions in anticipation of #7. Like - how did Dumbledore get James' invisibility cloak? And is Pettigrew alive for a reason? and and ... I do have to say that my long term memory is worthless so re-reading the books is like reading them for the first time. The other day I finished 3 and despite the fact I've previously read the book AND seen the movie - I still thought Harry saw his father across the lake when he warded off the dementors. Like duh!
ok off to bed with me and my worthless memory.

| I always forget the AV is a wind tunnel. It's audible right now. I feel like Dorothy. It calmed for our evening walk however it was in full force this afternoon at Marie Kerr Park. I met Emily and her daughter Evelyn for a few delightful & gusty hours before seeking refuge at none other than the grand Antelope Valley Mall. Emily is my one friend left in the valley. Thank goodness for her or I'd be completely non-social. However, the time is allowing me to catch up on all things telly, namely horrible entertainment news shows, I cheated-on-my-spouse-extreme-punishment talk shows, and a few reality installments. Three reasons why we say no to cable. Hmm... maybe I'll follow my heart and switch to mom's disney collection. I did however bring along the latest Blueprint and Domino, my stylish friends while nursing. And I'm quickly trying to finish off the Time Travelers Wife so I can start the HP marathon before the June dead-line. off to read. | | |
