WOW, it's been a long time since I last blogged on Xanga.....so, let's see what has happened since my last blog....

I sliced my middle finger on the blade of the food processor while doing dishes and needed 3 stitches.

I went to the ER (for myself) for the first time.  (I have been many a times with Gerald for his nut allergy)

I turned in my Capstone project which consisted of my Master thesis and a powerpoint presentation of it.  Gave my powerpoint presentation in front of colleagues, advisors, faculty, and the associate dean of the college of nursing at Rush.

We recently bought a new coffee table with matching end table, but won't be available until the end of August.

Next week we are painting!

Gerald and I have become surrogate parents to Sophie and Parker.

I walked at graduation commencement in June (Rush only has it once a year and even though I was not officially done, if I didn't walk then, I wouldn't have wanted to walk a year later).

And last but not least, I am officially done with school in 27 days, August 24! AND we are going to Europe for about two weeks in September as both a graduation present to Gerald (for "getting his wife back") and a long need vacation for me!

Sometimes I wish I was a smart a..$, then I would be able to make come backs right away and not be bothered by things that were said hours later.  There's this lady at the clinic I am doing clinicals at and she is just so....mouthy.  There has been two scenarios where I just get so upset by what she says, but at that moment in time that the comments are being made, I am speechless, like I am too shocked to say something or my lips just seal up and my brain freezes.  And then I come home or I am driving home and I think about what was said and all these comments that could have been said come to me, some are mean, some are really out of anger and some are pretty appropriate that does not offend anyone or make anyone feel bad.  But why is it at the moment in time, my brain just freezes and I can't think of anything to come back to her nasty comments.  Maybe it's a good thing, cuz I just might say something I would totally regret.

SO.....we finally closed on our condo, on the day they said they were planning on closing, for once!  and we officially moved in to our new place this past weekend.  It was crazy hectic.  They sanded our floors, so Saturday morning, about 3-4 hours was spent on cleaning and dusting everything, everywhere, and every crevase, you name it, we did it!  Gerald was responsible for the walls and I was responsible for every thing else.  It turned out well, but we were really tired.  Then went shopping for all our essentials, like a shower curtain, rod, door blockers, etc.....and then at night, we spent opening presents like we won the lottery!  It was all the gifts we got when we got married, OVER A YEAR  ago!  It was fun, guessing what it was, seeing what it was and deciding where it should be placed.  But, our place is a TOTAL MESS!  I told Gerald no one is allowed over until after Thanksgiving except close friends who won't laugh at our mess.  You'd think after moving into a new place we'd be living nicer, but ahhhh......NO, we are still living out of crates and boxes, with no furniture, and barely any food in the fridge, just like at our old apt!  But, it'll come around.  I just need to finish the quarter and spend some time on the place redecorating and organizing.  if anyone has any ideas or wanna help, please don't hesitate, as of right now, I am up for anything!  Our next decision......painting, any ideas?
