Haulaway at aisle 15… 11/25/06
It’s that time of the year again…great food, family, and some crazy shopping before 8am on the Friday morning after Thanksgiving! Before I go into that, I’ll start with what’s been going on this week. ^_^
Monday wasn’t that bad…I still had hope about my samples…Then I put them through a whole bunch of confirmations…which in the ned turn out to be duds of sorts..However, if I felt bad…it’s nothing compared to the company that sold us some of the stuff…Unlike us, they had a product…Unlike us, their website was no longer found…Unlike us, their phone number was disconnected…Reason: they were based in New Orleans, LA. We purchased their product in 2003…When I searched for them, I instead found out that the person in charge of the company went back to Tulane…The company was wiped out from Katrina…I felt so bad…sigh.
Tuesday my mom was home, but work had a working lunch…of brainstorming…and I have no ideas…I just had vague concepts that I’m not sure how to improve…sigh…I WAS happy about the pizza though. ^_^ Piping hot…worth every penny… ^_^ Unfortunately, I only had enough air to run half the parking lot…and in the end could not catch up to the airgas truck….
Which was supposed to return on Wednesday…Did I mention that at work we essentially got 2 free days of free lunches?! ^_^ hehehe…I tried my best to get to work early and start my experiments…well, the weather did not agree…So, I arrived on time…and even put the tanks outside for pickup even if the truck came while we were at lunch. Unfortunately, I found out after lunch and called the depot…that the truck would be coming…next week. At least I didn’t need to wait. ^_^
It’s nice to run on a language delay….that and people who pay attention to your industry…even if it’s in your best interest to stay clueless…I’m happy! My backside is in a picture…Just kidding. ^_^ At least now I have a better chance for a Christmas bonus sometime this year! ^_^ hehehe.
Now, Thursday was VERY neat. I was so glad I was at home and not outside watching the parade in person in NYC. I felt so bad for those people…ugh. And the balloons were so low…oh well. We ate good food and my uncle kepteveryone up until 2am… even if I already went to bed at 10pm and planned to wake up at 4:30am… ^_^
Friday – F-day? ^_^ Here’s the short version – I went to the following places in the morning: staples, target office depot, circuit city, sam’s club, compusa, price club, lakeforest mall, jcpenny’s, Wachovia bank, and cvs. I finished everything by 10:30am…
Long version – Since I didn’t need to shop for anyone but myself, I was happy to wake up late…at 4:30am. I got I line for Staples before 4:50am…only to find myself out f the running for TVs or GPS systems…which were to the top 25…sigh. An hour and ahlf later, with no doughnuts or coffee and the people around me chuckling at my lists and ads in my bag…we saw the line grow to past Target…and heard the TJMaxx alarm go off… ^_^ 12 minutes later and beign felt as if I had been swept away a few times…I checked out and went to target for some free candy at target. I was so happy (I now have a laminator!!!!! ^_^) I found out that target didn’t carry the item…and so headed off to Office Depot to get my cdrs that I was pretty sure no one else would want since they were only free with coupon and they had assured me that they had it in stock by Wednesday…I arrived to not only to find the freebies avaible, but the one item I expected to be available NOT there…so I took, had some words and left for Circuit City. I arrived at Circuit city by 7am….to find this HUGE line. I stayed in line for over an hour (this was a place that was open since 5am) but I was able to score on 2 freebies I wanted. I even had a decent parking spot. It was so funny there…The people there borrowed my ad and after a while they joked I must be a software engineer or something with my lists and ads in the bag and stuff…Can I help it if I thought free food is a deal? ^_^ They were joking maybe they should hit sam’s club instead of waiting… ^_^ “Got any guest passes?” Aroudn 8:30, I was able to leave and as I left circuit city, I saw the line outside…still. I went to compusa and parked and was out in about 15 minutes with the item I wanted….Then I finally had some real food at sam’s club…half a Danish and half a muffin and some water. I really regretted not getting in on the old-version of the ipod mini…for $45 out the door…sigh. By then it was ~9am…so I hit the malland jcpenny’s before I went to work….and learned that jcpenny’s has an 8am cutoff for the freebie snowglobe. ^_^ oh well…However, I did get the candybar at CVS…so I’m happy. With a decent haul, I went to work and grabbed my stamps from the office. I changed my media and went to my last stop before heading home for lunch: price club. I bought the cdrs for work…and I bought stuff for home and got a freebie cookbook! ^_^ I’m happy.
So, with the bulk of day after thanksgiving shopping done, I think the “hot” items of this year are the LCDs, TVs, GPS, some cameras, and the elmo. Mp3 playeers are still decent, but it needs to be big. The big ticket itmes that the price can’t change on…well, that’s of course – xbox 360 for $100, the wii, ipods, and the ps3…oh well. Good luck to them.
As for the afternoon, I went with my mom to get $50 from the bank. To be exact, American Partners bank…$50 for opening an account. ^_^ hehehe…Then free coffee from borders…It’s not that bad… ^_^ It’s hotter than before and I was happy…We also upgraded the phones and I now have a pink razr that I’m still clueless on how to use…I just hope I don’t hit with those extra fees for text messaging and pics and stuff…oh well. Did I mention the razr was free after rebate? ^_^ it was today to never, the lady who helped us was lucky…we usually had to wait and then get frustrated with waiting and didn’t renew…now we’re locked in for 2 years…sigh. Oh well.
So, that was yesterday…unfortunately, I now might be under the weather…oh well. We’ll see…I can’t believe it’s already Saturday… 1 more month until Christmas…I need to get into high gear and get some results…hmmm. ^_^
Happy Holidays! | | |

“I should….” 11/20/06
I should actually concentrate on my ideas for some brainstorming thingy at work tomorrow…. I should also find out WHY on earth my experiments aren’t going well…Last of all, I should lose more weight! ^_^
On the serious side…I’m a bit apprehensive about this Friday – I really hope it’s not going to rain. Work might also be contributing to the nervousness…It’s like nothing is going the way it should….
Sigh…
On a bit humorous note – Kissinger has said the war is unwinnable…and if anyone knows…it’s probably him. Also, MSNBC is gaining more attention…because it’s going a bit political. ^_^ hehe…
Did I mention it’s getting colder? ^_^

11/18/06 “5k and tender ankles…”
This week went from depressing, yelling, and fretful…to a weekend of tender ankles, an ipod nano for me, and over all – just giddiness. ^_^
It all started with catching up with GLP at work. Then there’s the fact our company has about 2.1 people per cubicle on average (the point 1 is a bug or rodent…or something ^_^) I learned one of the roll of stamps from price club either might be old…or that price club gave me the wrong roll of stamps…and that I might need to find the 2 cent ones…ASAP. So, I converted as many as I could from my stash of flag stamps that I obtained from my coworker. Then I got rid of most of my 84 cent stamps…and then I gave them a stash of 1 cent stamps until my order of 2 cent stamps arrived. Unfortunately, as of today, my order by mail seems to still be in transit because the post office has yet to fulfll the order…because apparently they haven’t received the order! Sigh…oh well…it’s only for 2 cent stamps anyway…
My supervisor got yelled at by the big boss earlier this week. Poor guy. He already had some personal worries, now this…At least his parents are here for vacation…I hope he has a good time. I sorta wish my experiments came out better so that he has more info and junk…
Now onto the really giddy news…Well, I found out from BoA that the safety deposit box that I was on a waiting list for…was now available! Good news was that I could get it for free…but the not so good news was that I’d have now have to lock up 5k just for the box. ^_^ I was still giddy when I went home; a bit apprehensive over the fact I needed every penny, but then my dad pointed out that the interest from BoA for that account is less than 10 for 2k, much less 5k…So, I started realizing that maybe the box wasn’t such a great deal after all…I didn’t need it, I just wanted it…sigh…greed. Horrible, isn’t it? ^_^ Anyway, I realized it was an emotional attachment of sorts…I was sued to seeing such boxes because of my om and maternal grandma…hehehe…so I wanted one myself. I did some slow math and realized that even if I left it at the local bank…the interest alone would cover for the box itself since the box was at half price! ^_^ Best of all, it was available! ^_^ So, I went to open the box…and found myself opening a credit card account also…and a line of credit…and reordering checks…hmmm…as long as it wasn’t a hard pull it’s okay.
To top of everything, my experiment is beginning to look better, slightly…there’s some possible results…It was funny, the moment my supervisr goes on vacation…EVERYONE leaves early on Friday. ^_^ Well ,except for the over 30 crowd…and then tthere’s me. It was worth it…oh well. But I really meant to say was that the cherry on the top was…I was so happy to have won an ipod nano!!!! ^_^ 2GB! ^_^ This one’s mine!!!! ^_^
Since I was in such a happy mood, I was more than willing to go on a walkathon…it’s sponsored by fannie mae, the OCA-YP people are organizing it, and most importantly – it’s to meet people…I’m happy..nfortunately, my ankles aren’t. ^_^ oh well.
That’s all for now. I’m going to enjoy the ipod now. ^_^
