| Ok so I know it has taken some time to write a blog but I have been busy! I am now in Spain studying the language the customs the culture it is amazing. I live with three other wonderful girls, two from Germany and one from Italy. We are always laughing and having a good time. School starts on October 3. I am a bit nervous but I will have to see. I will go ahead and post some pictures I have taken so far. I have two pictures with my Italian roomate Serena and a picture with two of my German friends, Simone and Anne. | | |

I think that it is ample time for a new update! I have to admit that I have done very well when it comes to online diaries. I have prevented myself from becoming hooked. I recently found out that the creator of Facebook dropped out of college because he had a serious addiction to the web. Then again how many people trust word of mouth sources anyway? Alright...before I begin I would like to make a shout out to a special lady her name is Hetty Kudjoe! haha I just want to say that you are fantastic just for the sake of your fantasticness...if that made any sense...also school is almost done...you are almost a graduate...unless you already graduated...then i would feel like a grand fool...ok moving on...I went on an international conference this past weekend and had an absoulutly fabulous time! Of course you know that I am going to put some pictures on here so here I go...
Myself before we left...I was very tired...

We were all required to wear traditional attire...seems that myself and the other guy were the only ones who followed the directions! haha

Met some other really cool and interesting people (That Jamaican girl that interrupted the photo was a funny one!)
We had a fantastic dinner ceremony afterwards...good African food yum!

Everybody was representing their homeland...such wonderful unity!

"Take me in my dreams recurring, cheerful as a childhood dance, into one more taste of freedom, one more longing backward glance. In the sway of somber music I shall never, never understand, let me slip into the sweeter chorus of that other land. The Gods love Nubia, the beautiful, the golden, the radiant, the fertile, the gentle and the blessed. The pain of Nubia is only of the moment, the desolate, the suffering, the plundered, the oppressed. The Gods love Nubia, the glorious creation, the songs roll sweetly across the harvest plain, the tears of Nubia, a passing aberration, they wash into the river and are never cried again. The Gods love Nubia, we have to keep believing though scattered and divided, we are still it's heart, the fall of Nubia, ephemeral and fleeting. The spirit always burning though the flesh is torn apart." - AIDA

Spring break is almost here and I cannot wait to come home. My birthday is also coming up...yes March 12 shouldn't I be excited? I guess when you finally get to be two decades old, old joys lack a sense of euphoria...
Well till next time...

| Yes yes, it has been some time since my last update. I have been frantically busy with loads of homework, tests, quizzes, all that jazz...and of course being a resident advisor is no cup of tea. I am constantly involved with my other daunting responsibilities...BDC has been trying to restore a new image for the upcoming year...and so far I think we have done fairly well...
We had a Black History Month show this past week...the turnout was wonderful, we really worked hard to put the show together...there was African dancing, Spoken word poets, Trivia, etc.

Tiffany, Adwoa, Suzie, Myself, and Joyce....the African dancers!

African Princesses (Kona, Bethlehem, Joyce, Myself, Magdalene, Suzie, Tiffany, Kay, Adwoa, Tasha...)
The show was a lot better than the previous year...

Previously we hosted two big events, our soon to be anual black and white soiree and a valentines bash...it was tiresome but both were equally successful!

Another update is due... I havn't really had much to write about... sometimes when events occur quickly and end just as fast it is hard to dig into your mind and recapture those moments in a few good sentences. I am back at home now with only a week left till I go back to school. I am a bit bummed out because I have been so used to being at home, sleeping in my own room, eating good food, and now with just a week left, I plan to make everyday count. Christmas was wonderful, probably one of the best, I don't remember many of my past Christmas events. We had family over all the way from Canada! My cousin Jean-Marie, her husband, and their two adorable kids Ms. Julia Rose and Mr. Daniel. I enjoyed every minute of their company! We also had the usual family friends come over to enjoy the festivities, none other than the famous Wubah family!! This year was a blessing especially because I had family there, since most of them are back home in Ghana. I finally got to meet my neice and nephew...and on top of that I had the grand opportunity to cook the Turkey (I was assisted by cousin Jean Marie and my mom of course, but none the less, it was I that put the turkey together! I am very proud). New Years was also eventfull because we took a trip to Pennsylvania to visit my awsome granduncle Tony who we hadn't seen in years!! We had a blast and watching the ball drop on the television put some closure to the year 2005. Good times....I finally had the chance to hang out with good friends (Micaela, Lesley, Margaret, and Kate). We did the gift exchange shabang and then went out to dinner at the Cheesecake factory...which was fabulous...I also had the pleausre of watching Memoirs of a Geisha (wonderful movie, however I recommend that you watch the movie before you read the book, they skipped a lot of vital moments from the book, I was hurt...but overall great imagry and acting.) I also watched Brokeback Mountain (Dismiss the controversy...the acting was phenomenal! I highly recommend to those who are willing to open their minds and look beyond their personal predujices.) Well thats all for now, untill my next entry, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!! live everyday as though it were your last!!
Awsome Nephew Daniel with his signiture expression!

Absolutly fabulous/Diva Neice Ms. Julia-Rose...
