WHEEL OF LIFE POSE-----Ideal for bitching about the loss of another young life d/t cyberbullying!!

Another young girl,...this time from Canada,...has commited suicide because of cyberbullying!!  Retaeh Parsons, a seventeen year old girl from Nova Scotia,..was invited to a party,..given vodka by a group of boys till she passed out and then,..had a picture taken of her as she was raped.  Police did nothing about the rape,..but Retaeh's classmates had a ball harassing her on Facebook with the boys asking her for sex and the girls,...in no uncertain terms, let her know that she was at fault for her own rape.  The rape picture went viral at her school and she couldn't take the online harassment anymore!!  She killed herself. 

Score one for the cyberbullies? 

Hey,..you cyberbullies out there,..doesn't the fact that you can be resposible for the death of another human being make you feel.......

....."COOL?" 

Think about it!!  You can commit murder with words!!  The guy, who killed the twenty grade school children at Sandy Hook, had to use a gun!  You can kill another human being with YOUR words!!  Of course,..for someone,.who enjoys mocking others to raise your own self esteem,..this should make any cyberbully feel POWERFUL!!

IMO,...THE NEXT STEP UP FOR A PACK OF CYBERBULLIES IS A LYNCH MOB!!

A young girl in Canada is dead.  Against her will, she was raped and photographed nude while unconscience.  Isn't this against the law?

Not only is this poor young woman dead,...but her friends and family are suffering the hell of losing someone that they loved.

Oh YEAH!!  Cyberbullying is powerful,...indeed!!

HANDWRITING ON THE WALL POSE-----We will overcome cyberbullying!!!!

YES, the recent passage of the Jessica Logan Act,..which went into effect in the great state of Ohio in November 2012,...was partially inspired by the actions of the cyberbullies,...which roamed the old scifi bboard.  The act of cyberbullying and the responsiblity for such actions must be shared equally by all who would cyberbully. 

One act of cyberbullying incites other acts of cyberbullying.  The passage of the Jessica Logan Bill in Ohio was due to vicious acts of cyberbullying on one specific person and the efforts of many people to do something about cyberbullying.  Laws, like this law, are passed and put into effect by the families and friends of victims, similar to Grace McComas.  Such laws are the results of those folk,.who are tired of seeing the agony of their children and friends and these good folks are tired of schools and law enforcement AND websites,..doing nothing to protect their loved ones!!

The deadly act of one cyberbully inspires other cowards,..who recuit other cyberbullies and build themselves up in gangs like packs of salivating wolves to fall down on those individuals,..who are perceived to be weaker than the cyberbullies.  Cyberbully packs prefer to pick on perceived victims,..who appear to be.."friendless."  Such packs prefer the weak. 

Cyberbullies,..like other bullies,..never strike at those whom they think can strike back.  Like wolves,..cyberbullies look for the weakest to be their victims.  Fortunately,..those individuals,..perceived to be the perfect victims,...have relatives and friend,..who love them and are determined to END the cyberbullying for once and for all.

Personally,..I do believe that as human beings,..we are all made up of good and evil in our dual natures as humans.  There will never TRULY be an end to bullying.  BUT we can attempt to educate people and prevent the vast majority of such bullying for now!!  If there had been more such education,..a nine year old boy,..who was bullied and cyberbullied in his class in school for being the shortest boy in his class,..would not have gone home and hung himself.   An eleven year old boy would not have hung himself in his bedroom closet for being bullied because he was the only boy in a family of seven girls.

Does this type of bullying make sense?  No?  Well,..guess what?  Bullies and cyberbullies will use ANY excuse to bully or cyberbully because they really don't need a reason to bully.  Most bullying is not about the victim,..it is about the bully, himself, and his own cowardly low self-esteem.  If a would be bully knows that there WILL be consequences for his/her bullying,..there will be less bullying!! 

Remember,..bullying and cyberbullying is really about a coward finding some one to pick on,..someone who the bully sees as being unable to hurt him/her back.  If bullies are HURT socially or have to pay penalties for their bullying,..the sport of bullying loses it's glamour.

The cyberbullies must ask themselves this question,..HOW FAMOUS DO YA WANNA BE?"

Their fame,..of course,..would be based on their cyberbullying. 

Then, so the cyberbully couldn't enjoy a "reputation,"...there would have to be serious social and economic consequences to pay for the act of cyberbully or just plain bullying.  Bullying should result in pain for the bully and NOT the victim.

Make a noise.  Tell other people about what the bullies are doing to you. Don't let them get away with it.

S'funny.  Ten years ago,..I was on a scifi website for a certain television show and one of the chief entertainments for that website was not the television show itself,..but the act of cyberbullying.  It was considered cool there to pick out a person,..who didn't "go with the flow and general opinion" and harass the hell out of that person on the website and off the website.  The bullying carried on into the Real Lives of the folks, who used to haunt the website and even spawned "speshial" websites for a flowery few,..who desired to have a private place for their form of mental..errm..."excercises." 

Those of us, who were "cyberbullied,"..were told to suck it up as the cyberbullies  were superior in everyway to us,..the "cyberbullied," and we,..the underdogs,..were to accept our "rejection" as the "speshial" people and their friends went to their new heavenly homes in their new websites and never had to deal with the non- "speshial" people again. 

Sooo I dealt with the situation as I have always dealt with such situations.  I didn't "suck it up,"..nor did I "shoot myself" as suggested by one of them by email,..(she couldn't understand how an "ogre,"..like myself,..could even stand my own existence.) 

Instead of shooting myself,...I wrote about the cyberbullies online and offline.  After all, they were so proud of their cyberbullying and so happy to not have to deal with the "scum" as the bullied were refered to,..I felt that they deserved recognition for their grand accomplishment: their cyberbullying.

And I backed up what I was saying about the cyberbullying with dated photocopies of what those bullies had written to me, emailed to me, and had written about such bullying online.

I told two college professor friends of mine about the bullying and got to teach special college classes on those "speshial" people and their "speshialness,"  and how they were busily trying to destroy other people's lives.  I backed up what I was saying with the photocopies that I had taken of the bullying and twice led seminars on the distinctive types of mental aberations and lack of self-esteem, self empowerment, and self control on the part of folks, who must indulge in an online mob mentality, known as cyberbullying. 

A Deaf friend let me use her blog,..which reached about a half million Deaf and Hearing folks,..to use the examples of those "speshial" people as an example of cyberbullying at it's worst..  I went before some friends of mine on the Ohio Governor's Council On People with Disabilites and lobbied with Ellie,...THE DAUGHTER OF A FORMER TREASURER OF THE STATE OF OHIO, a friend of mine,..whose disAbled son was one of the bullied on that old scifi bboard,.. for a change in the laws in the state of Ohio on cyberbullying. 

All of the noise I made did attract a lot of attention of a positive kind,..it got my Deaf Blind friend, Miss Nellie Zimmerman,..a museum exhibition on her life in the McKinley Presidential Museum in Canton, Ohio,.....a screen play about her life,..sponsered by NibStar Productions,..(the screen play won the Gold Award in April 2004 at the Houston Indie Film Festival)....a tombstone by a wealthy sponser, a second book,..WALKING FREE: THE LIFE OF NELLIE ZIMMERMAN, from our small publishing company, and a state memorial marker in the cemetery in which she is buried.  It got an unknown high school girl a chance to illustrate a book and a four year college scholarship. 

The cyberbullying from that old bboard gave me an idea for a reminder of the "speshial people," of the old scifi bboard.  I made meself a "speshial" plaque,..a copy of one of the cyberbully posts,..which stated that the WALKING FREE: THE NELLIE ZIMMERMAN STORY book..didn't exist because the cyberbully SAID that it didn't exist!!

.I keep that plaque above my desk to remind me of what cyberbullying can do to other people and how those cyberbullies count on their victims' silence and percieved helplessness as a means of covering up what they had to do to get a two second "mental orgasm" and false rush of "power" from their cyberbullying.

After ten years of sounding off about the stupidity of those old cyberbully posts on that now defunct website,..a online friend asked me to "give the subject a rest."  She said that ten years had gone by and the people involved had moved on and I should too.  As I had milked the situation for everything that it was worth,..I decided to follow her request. 

Then,..my son told me about Grace McComas,..the fifteen year old girl, who committed suicide because of cyberbullying.  Something inside of me saw red.  Selfish social stupidity still reigns online........

Grace,..in memory of you,..I shall wear blue as requested by your family.

And I won't  "shut up"......

LET MY PEOPLE GROW!! 

On the second floor and to the left of the disability elevator to the second floor of the McKinley Presidential Museum,..one will find the exhibit for WALKING FREE: THE NELLIE ZIMMERMAN STORY.  My husband and I were probably the first two people to see it,..by private invitation!!  It is beautiful in my eyes!!  It was first set up 9/6/2006.

(Go tell it on the mountain!! Over the hills and everywhere!!)

The exhibit is up, and its's really there, and it chronicles the life of my deaf blind friend and a few of her awards and her state recognition for becoming an Outstanding Ohioan and recognizes her as being.."a significant historical figure in Ohio and in the United States."   Nellie's beloved fur coat is standing proudly on a clothes horse.  There is a whole glass cabinet full of her awards on exhibtion and a whole slew of pictures,..on a whole wall, from my life with Nellie.  Those pictures cover an entire wall,..including Nellie's time at Malone College,..her work at the New Life Group home with the deaf blind boys,..and her participation in my wedding!!  All of these pictures remind one that this is a true story that Nellie and I lived right here in Massilllon and Canton,...Ohio.

Best of all is a lovely picture of Carrie Dixon, my favorite Deaf Heroine, without whose inspiration..these events in Nellie's life and in my own life would have never taken place.  With some tears in my eyes,..I say to Carrie's invincible spirit,.."Someday,..Carrie Dixon,..someday,..you will recieve the recognition and distinction that you deserve.  If you hadn't found Nellie in that awful state hospital and started the wheels in motion to have her freed,..Nellie would have never gone onto achieve what she did in the remaining years of her life!!"

Some kids at Galluldet in D.C. are trying to live up to the example that you set for free and independent and thinking Deaf People in this United States and in this world,..Nellie,..Can you hear me,..Carrie?

I invite you to stop by the McKinley Presidential Museum in Canton,..Ohio at 800 McKinley Monument Drive N.W. and pay a small fee to see the exhibits there.  If you go up on the second floor,..you will see now through November 12,..2006..the exhibit on the life of Nellie Zimmerman,..a little Deaf-Blind woman,..who at the age of seventy one,..went to Malone College,..helped start and run a group home for Deaf blind boys,..and finally fell in love with the man of her dreams at the age of eighty!!  You will also see a photo of Carrie Dixon,.. a Deaf pioneer,..who has not yet been given her full credit and due for her part in setting her people..free..from the chains of discrimination, given to them by the world,.. because they couldn't hear!! 

Who says that there were no deaf revolutionaries?  Without firing a shot,..these women were pioneers and helped change the world in which we live today!! 

(Will "Gally" change the world in a straight true path, as Nellie did with courage to change her life from bad to good, by aquiring a Deaf president, whose primary language is ASL?)
