Huge Vacation Picture PostWe're home, 3 days later than we originally planned, we had such a great time the first 2 days we stayed 3 more We visited Tony at his new place over in Houston, then drove down to Galveston for a couple days. Tony has a nice apartment and seems to be enjoying his new found freedom and new job. Speaking of Tony, he sent me an email I loved last night, when I can figure out how to share it here I will.

The outside and inside of Tony's new pad

After we spent sometime at Tony's we all drove downtown to see the building he works in.

Tony had to work on Monday so we headed over to NASA Space Center and then down to Galveston for a few hours.

I love this picture of Fred (dh) if you look close you can see the reflection of the umbrella in his sunglasses, that's relaxing! This monument on the beach is dedicated to the 6000+ people who died in the storm of 1900, the storm almost wiped out the Island.
We had such a good time in Galveston we decided to head back the next day for a couple hours before we headed home, we ended up getting a room that night and the next. I love unplanned kind of fun, well until we started running out of clean clothes!
We stayed in what some say is the only hotel like it, but I think I may have found one in San Francisco, either way I'd never seen anything like it and neither had Fred. It's built on a pier over the ocean, much like staying on a boat.

Believe it or not I made it into a couple of vacation pictures this time around but Savannah isn't wearing much in either picture so I wont share those.

This was the view from the balcony.

Fred and Trey collected Conch Shells much of the 2nd day we were there......there's more to this story, I'll share later.

We found some kids playing with a crab on the beach one night, I didn't notice until I got home that there's a PINE CONE in this picture?

I love these picture with the ocean in the background, the hotel as well as the pool are all on top of the pier surrounded by ocean. Savannah said it was lovely.

Fred (dh) loved this picture, the navigator showed us IN the ocean when we parked in the hotel parking lot which is also located on the pier. (notice the yellow arrow)
Anyway, back to the hermit crab adventure...... They found more than any of us imagined, I thought there was maybe 20 in there, which was still alot but we didn't expect them all to live. Well they did, all 50 of them~ We stopped at the pet store on the way home to look for an aquarium to keep them in. The pet store owner, who at this point knows me pretty well, bunny, birds, ect.... Asked if we wanted to sell any of them? Who knew? We sold her 14 at $1 a piece (she sells them for 2.99) I thought it was a good deal. We applied the store credit towards a nice glass aquarium, sand, and supplies for the rest of the colony.

So for any of you who are keeping count that's 2 dogs, a cat, a bunny, 2 birds, and more hermit crabs than we know what to do with!
