Huge Vacation Picture Post

We're home, 3 days later than we originally planned, we had such a great time the first 2 days we stayed 3 more   We visited Tony at his new place over in Houston, then drove down to Galveston for a couple days.  Tony has a nice apartment and seems to be enjoying his new found freedom and new job.  Speaking of Tony, he sent me an email I loved last night, when I can figure out how to share it here I will.

After we spent sometime at Tony's we all drove downtown to see the building he works in.

Tony had to work on Monday so we headed over to NASA Space Center and then down to Galveston for a few hours.

I love this picture of Fred (dh) if you look close you can see the reflection of the umbrella in his sunglasses, that's relaxing!    This monument on the beach is dedicated to the 6000+ people who died in the storm of 1900, the storm almost wiped out the Island.

We had such a good time in Galveston we decided to head back the next day for a couple hours before we headed home, we ended up getting a room that night and the next.  I love unplanned kind of fun, well until we started running out of clean clothes!

We stayed in what some say is the only hotel like it, but I think I may have found one in San Francisco, either way I'd never seen anything like it and neither had Fred.  It's built on a pier over the ocean, much like staying on a boat.

Believe it or not I made it into a couple of vacation pictures this time around but Savannah isn't wearing much in either picture so I wont share those.

This was the view from the balcony.

Fred and Trey collected Conch Shells much of the 2nd day we were there......there's more to this story, I'll share later.

Galveston 08 071.JPG   Galveston 08 070.JPG

We found some kids playing with a crab on the beach one night, I didn't notice until I got home that there's a PINE CONE in this picture?

I love these picture with the ocean in the background, the hotel as well as the pool are all on top of the pier surrounded by ocean.  Savannah said it was lovely.

Fred (dh) loved this picture, the navigator showed us IN the ocean when we parked in the hotel parking lot which is also located on the pier.  (notice the yellow arrow)

Anyway, back to the hermit crab adventure...... They found more than any of us imagined, I thought there was maybe 20 in there, which was still alot but we didn't expect them all to live.  Well they did, all 50 of them~  We stopped at the pet store on the way home to look for an aquarium to keep them in.  The pet store owner, who at this point knows me pretty well, bunny, birds, ect.... Asked if we wanted to sell any of them?  Who knew?  We sold her 14 at $1 a piece (she sells them for 2.99)  I thought it was a good deal.  We applied the store credit towards a nice glass aquarium, sand, and supplies for the rest of the colony.

So for any of you who are keeping count that's 2 dogs, a cat, a bunny, 2 birds, and more hermit crabs than we know what to do with!

4th of July Parade

Our neighborhood HOA hosted a 4th of July parade and party down at the duck pond, my battery died before we made it all the way to the end but I did get some good pic's before that.

Insomnia?  and other things running threw my mind when I should be sleeping.......

I'm tired, I'm a little pms-y, and I feel like I need a break.  Not an hour break to shop or take a nap, but a few whole days off, kwim?  I know some of you know what I'm talking about, doing the same thing everyday, ho hum....

As a homeschooler I never thought I'd hear myself say the words "I can't wait till school starts back!" You know, what's the difference, my kids are here all day, everyday.  It's not my kids I'm looking forward to going back to school   I always wanted to be "that house" the "kool aid house", the place all the kids wanted to hang out, W.H.A.T  W.A.S  I  T.H.I.N.K.I.N.G!!??

Savannah's at the age where she's not at all into sharing and most especially not into sharing her brother, she wants him all to herself, thankyouverymuch!  She told Logan tonight to "Just go home already!"  *lol*

Fred (dh) has next week off, the whole week, we don't have big plans, just some much needed relaxing.  We booked a room in Houston for a couple days, we'll check out Tony's new place then head over to the Houston Space Center  while we're there.  It's $5.00 more to purchase season passes than the cost of one day tickets for the 4 of us, duh.  We'll be purchasing the season passes, I figure if we go once more it was well worth the x-tra 5 bucks.

I'm looking forward to a couple days of knowing that no rug rats  no one will be knocking on our door to play.

Why can't I keep it clean?

EDIT** Monday afternoon.....

It's all clean again, only time will tell how long it will stay that way   I do try to have faith in myself  but I've "been there done that" in this room too many times! I'll try to post some after pic's tomorrow, just too tired right now.

After pic's

I know it looks like I need to get rid of some stuff, trust me, I declutter all the time.  This is the stuff I NEED, my food pantry is back there, my homeschool closet is back there, and about 1/2 of my Christmas decor is stored on the top shelves.

I know part of the problem is that we have (and need) too much stuff, the other problem is that I'm not always great at putting things back where I got them from  at least not in this room, it's my catch all room.

**I'm posting pictures of my mess to motivate me to fix it, those with a weak stomach or heart problems will want to skip these pictures.**

I know this isn't the first time some of you have seen this room in this state, I'm going to get busy and figure out why it keeps happening, what I can do to keep it from happening again.

I'll update when I'm done, pray for me

Letterboxing and our new additions....

Letterboxing on Sunday was a bust, we never found the box and I wasn't sure we were all going to make it back to the truck alive, it was SO HOT!

Letterboxing on Monday was just as hot but we did find a box and we saw a deer!
