  • Mary Kay Share the Dream '08

I was so thrilled to finally attend a Mary Kay Share the Dream Career Conference!  Wohoh!  Our unit, the Star Catchers, attended the one held at the Riverside Convention Center in downtown Riverside.  I started my business in February 2007 and so far it's been a really challenging, but rewarding Mary Kay year for me. I've had no regrets.

A few of the many great things about Mary Kay:
    1. Being constantly surrounded by positive people like my sales director and team members
    2. Tremendous growth potential for me (confidence, self-esteem, business acumen, etc.)
    3. Getting all cosmetic products at a majorly discounted price
    4. Continuous learning
    5. Building new relationships with people

Do you think Mary Kay is for you?  Find out!

  • A Bedtime Story: The Daffodil Principle

I was happy to see my daffodils bloom a day after soaking the stems in water (they're snuggled together in a clear glass vase at my boyfriend's apartment).  They looked like ladies dancing in big swirling yellow skirts. I've never seen daffodils before in my life.  My Mary Kay sales director Joann King gave each one of us a cluster of daffodils after reading the story of The Daffodil Principle out loud at the end of our regular Thursday night meetings. She even gave us copies of the story to take home. I've never heard this story before except for the last part from forwarded emails and such, but I know it will be one story I'll be remembering for the rest of my life.

So I emailed Joann to thank her again for the daffodils and she replied, "Thanks for letting me know about the daffodils and you are sooooo welcome.  I have been wanting to do that for years, now...so I am tickled that circumstances made it happen after you came into our unit!!!"

I went to Trader Joe's on Sunday and saw buckets of the same daffodils on top of the checkout counters and remembered the story all over again.
