| The layout of the kitchen is already driving me insane. It's just awkward, and there's too many steps to and from sink to stove etc to make any kind of dinner preparation easy. I wonder if that's why I haven't been cooking much. Well, that and the fact that my son and his fiance have pretty much taken over that area. I'm going to ask a couple of guys I know for ideas for after I buy the house. Then I'm going to see how many "kitchen redo" sweepstakes/contests I can find to enter.

| My ex has topsoil I can have. They put a pool in their yard so have plenty of it. My son brought some home, but it wasn't near what I need, I don't think. I hope to finish that last garden on Saturday. I had a whole bunch of stuff to write about, but my mind just went blank. | | |
| On Monday, we're adding this little girl to our household:
Her name is Bahama.
We're getting her from the Humane Society of the Calumet Area. We figured a second cat would be much easier, and better for the small house, than getting another dog. Although I do kind of miss Dutchess. But that's ok. The neighbor said I could come walk her greyhound any time.
| What I did today:
Actually that was when I was almost done. Ignore the dirt and fat calf. It's about 4 inches long and goes almost across the whole back of my knee. <sigh> Cleaned with peroxide until I can get up the ambition to get in the shower. Now's the time I wish someone would take me to dinner. I did that doing these:
To the left of the perennials is a butterfly plant and one with tiny blue flowers that last a day but do this all summer long. To the right is peonie-dinner plate plant-peonie. Can't remember the name of the dinner plate plant, but that's about the size of the fuscia flowers that bloom mid-late summer. I don't know how well any of these will do now, but at least they'll be well established before winter and should do well next year.
