60 & 1/2 a year old!!!

This post should say SUNDAY, MARCH 23.

For the rest of Shea & Grandpa Lowell's life, they will share half birthdays and birthdays together. This one was a BIG one for Lowell: Number 60! Shea is 6 months today.

We had a birthday celebration for Lowell on Friday night at his house:
Below are his six grandkids.

Today (& yesterday) we were at the Dean Avenue Spring meeting. All the speakers had great lessons but I am always partial to Marc's (he spoke this afternoon). Shea was a good boy for us & had a lot of attention drawn to him since it was his first meeting (everyone was surprised how red his hair was).

We really enjoyed Eric, Rachel & Quinn as our house guests!!

SPRING BREAK HIGHLIGHTS:
Both Niki & Maddy would say the highlight of their Spring break was spending time with their cousins.

Sunday night Maddy helped G'ma Suzanne babysit Grace and Emily while Tim and Jami went on vacation to Florida. Wednesday Maddy and I treated Grace to 2 playgrounds and McDonalds. We had a blast.  The girls are sweethearts.

Thursday and Friday Sydney, Jake and Jaden all got to hang out with the Herms.
As always, it was the best of times!
They had a slumber party....

played Goober ball...

jumped on the trampoline...
played 2 on 2 in the Hawk's Nest...

had a serious stuffed animal birthday/tea party...

and even got to swim!

The Herms missed hanging out with Blake this week, though.
Final highlight of Spring Break-

Shea has graduated to eating vegetables! He loves them all so far: squash, sweet potatoes and peas.

I have a bunch more videos/pictures in the blogs but this post is long enough!!! We're off to school in the morning - next break: SUMMER VACATION!!! (Hard to believe since it's snowed the past two days)

Happy belated b-day to Lowell.  Really cute picture of he and Shea together.  Shea seems quite pleased to be six months old and to be eating such yummy vegetables!  Looks like he is well on his way to being a "good eater" like his Uncle Matt.

When Blake saw the picture of the kids in the pool he kept saying, "I wanna watch Niti swimming."  I tried to explain to him that it was only a picture, but he was highly disappointed.  The Happy B-day video made up for it though.

@houseofharvs -

Dear Blake,
I put a few videos on for you to watch Niki and Maddy in the pool. They played "Marco Polo" and you can see Maddy go under water in the hot tub. When you come to Iowa next time we will go swimming in this pool so hurry on up to Aunt Ginger's house! (smile!) I love you!

Well done! :)
I've been attending the Dean Ave Mtg for over50 years, way back when it was at the Armory next to the DSM river, and I heard possibly the best sermon ever preached by Marc on Sunday, it really got my attention!!!  When you can mix secular with spiritual and get a really spiritual lesson you will remember it.  Jesus did this all of the time with parables.  I always got my best grades in science.  Now about that big bang theory??  Excellent mtg all around, especially with all of the Prince Rd attendees.  Thank you Marc................. Shea is looking so grown up in his Grandpa's arms.  Congratulations on the veggies!

I'm so glad all the cousins get to hang out together so much.  Some of my fondest memories from my childhood involve just hangin' out with the cousins.  Great post and happy belated birthday to Lowell. :)

Happy birthday to Lowell.  I liked watching his mom stand by him singing and helping Dani's daughter sing too.  Sweeeeet. Awwwwww....many more good bdays to come.

Too bad we missed the meeting (again).  It is always edifying to hear all the good lessons.  Too bad we missed Marc's.

Thanks for the comments.  You really had an action-packed week off for being home!  Our trip home went well.  Got into Brighton around 9 and stopped to visit Me-maw and Papa.  We usually do that if we get home early enough.  Thanks for keeping us once again!  It's always a  great pleasure.  Eric told me on the ride home that he told the Burkman's that the next Spring meeting that we come to, we'd stay with them.  : )
