| Our Story I have know the Dean family for about 5 or 6 yrs. I have been in choir with them, enjoyed doing some small group music and have attended church with them since Summer of '05. Andrew had started to hang out with some of the same people that I hung out with. He went to the Rodeo with some of us, worked a wedding that I helped with, and we both participated in our church's Valentines Banquet. In June I went on the mission trip and helped mom in the kitchen. We were responsible for feeding anywhere from 40-80 people a day. While on the mission trip, I got to work with Andrew some. He volunteered to help wash dishes, carry heavy things, and even helped cook. I found that I enjoyed his friendship and company, but thought nothing else of it. We came home from the mission trip and kept in touch, talking on IM, texting or just visiting at church. After about a month, He told me that he was interested in me. I had began to develop feelings for him and was shocked that he had feelings for me. We talked about it a little more at church the following day. We decided that it would be best if he talked to the parents. Both mine and his. He did talk to his parents and they said that they did not think it was necessary to talk to my parents at that point. Andrew and I agreed to simply be friends and get to know each other better. We spent the fall hanging out with friends and occasionally talking on the phone. He talked to his parents again in late November/ early December and they said they thought it was a good idea to go ahead and talk to my Dad. So after a series of meetings, between Andrew and both sets of parents, on December 9th, Andrew met with my Dad and our courtship became official. It has been such fun, both getting to know him over the Fall and then getting to know him and his family since December. In December, we were able to attend the Military Ball with my sister and her husband. We were also able to spend a lot of time with my family over Christmas break. We are continuing to seek God's will for our lives, and what He would have us to do. We are so grateful for the support we have received from both our families and our friends. For those of you who don't know Andrew.... He is 20 yrs. Old, and a Junior at UTA. Studying math and computer science.(that would make him the smart one.) He is a full time student and working part time at First Rate Financial Systems as a programmer.

| One thing that continually blows me away is that.... When God looks at me.... He sees that I am as righteous as Christ. Knowing that I am not required to do anything to be loved or accepted by Him is a great comfort. So many times, it seems that we are "required" to do something to gain the love/approval- but no- that was all done at the cross! So many times it seems that traditions and the "ways of man" places that extra load on us, and that load was never meant for us. God loves us just the way we are, we don't have to earn that. Nothing I can do will make Him love me more or less! |
