| A Slave of Sin?I
was doing some studying in my bible and I found a piece of paper in it
with a few verses written. Perhaps it was the rough for a sermon I
planned to give, but God must have lead me in another direction.
Anywho, I found the paper and I feel I should complete the task I began
with just a few verses long ago and apply them as a simple lesson.
Isn't it amazing how God uses forgotten things to renew old ideas and
dreams.
A SLAVE IN DARKNESS? John
8:34 "Jesus answered them, "most assuedly, I say to you, Whoever
commits sin is a slave of sin."" This reminds me of common claches
such as "once a liar/cheater/thief/ect. always one." If a person has
ever lied which I am sure most have, they are a "liar." They are held
captive by the sin commited, they have been labled with a perminant
marker. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory
of God." We are all dirty sinners. God does not accept excuses like
"But that was a long time ago," or "It never happened again, did it!"
Once we have sin we are sinners and destined to burn. We are held
prisoner by this sin, it weighs us down, fills us with guilt, denial or
darkness. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Sin itself will
eventually catch up to us, we can spend our time on earth running from
past sin, denying sin, or in sin. What always happens in the end is
Sin brings spiritual and physical death. All with sin are on death row
in a cell called sin. In the world today, we compromise
eternity for fleshy ambitions, personal satisfaction, wealth,
augmentation and glory. We legalize what our flesh wants and make it
"good" and refuse to see any harm in it. The real sin resides in the
root of the ambition. I have never heard of someone who wanted to
build a mass of wealth so they could give it all away and glorify god.
The motivation is personal and of the flesh, thus the actions taken in
persute become motivated by sin, ie. a slave of sin. This may not be
the case for all or even for many but the ultimate reality is that if
we have sin we are seperated from God and will spend our lives trying
to find the missing element or content due to de-sensitisation. All
those with sin are slaves to sin. John 3:20 "For everyone
practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest
his deeds be exposed." Get this.... Those who live in sin try to hide
it!!! People know what is right and wrong, it is the thing wired in
our system, a conscience. The shame of sin can make us captive, One
lie is covered up by another and another and so on. Instead of
admitting to sin and being discovered as a sinner in need of salvation,
they hide it in order to appear content to others or for stature of
men. They deny it to avoid the humiliation and embarrassment. They
deny their need for Christ because they don't want others to find out
they were not strong enough to make it without Him. There is this
little thing called pride and it comes right before destruction. Guess
what! Nobody is strong enough, We all are sinners, and you cannot hide
your sin from God. But still they run from Jesus and cover up sin with
sin. They are prisinors of sin. Escaping sin and it's grasp is
impossible with out Jesus. Sin holds us in a spiritual Alcatraz and we
cannot escape it without the greatest super-hero of all time, Jesus
Christ. Jesus is the answer. He died to free us from sin. To free us
from Satans hold and hell itself. Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you
have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the
Gift of God." We must have faith in God. We must turn to him in
humility, Be broken fully and discovered as dirty sinners to be made
precious and white as snow. We live in a world held captive by sin but
believing in freedom. Live in a world of freedom and seek the
captive. Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life,
everything else is meaningless. Let us turn to God as humble and meek
servants and help set some captives free. May God Bless you all.

| It's true, im backHello all, I miss you. I know its been 6 months so I am sure many
of you will be happy to see I posted at all. Wow, My computer has
been really wierd for a long time. TRUE STORY. I had not used it in
like 4 months and i needed a new power supply, (this was 2 months ago)
so I got one and then my computer kept on crashing every time I Used
the cd drive. So now, April and I have moved, we didn't get a
land line, we have wireless, yeah! Or so I thought, but wireless
meant installing a wireless card, and guess whoes cd drive crashes the
computer, yours truely. So I tried a couple of things and it kept
getting worse, The thing would hardly even turn on. So I took the
computer apart and put it back together, literally. Then the
screen wouldn't turn on and it seemed like there was no operating
system. I GAVE UP!!
so two days ago I got REALLY bored and decided to take it apart and
reassemble it again, figured I couldn't do much more damage and guys
like doing that sort of thing. I switched my RAM cards around
though. THE COMPUTER TURNED ON... WORKING. A great big grin
was not containable. Then when I opened the cd drive, it
croaked. I was right back where I started two months prior.
I even let the battery charge for a day straight with no activity and
it still did it. I was just about to give up when a thought
crossed me. What if I take an external CD writer and plug it in,
it didn't need installing because it was already installed. I
first tried it with a data disk which had our budget on it, it read it,
then the installation software for the wireless card, it had a few
kinks but it worked. Problem solved.
MORAL OF STORY
Sometimes we can get so occupied with finding a source of and fixing a
problem, we hastedly rush into them; often making them worse. A
simple solution will almost always be overlooked in the heat of the
situation, disectinng the problem often reviels or causes more
complicated and notable querkes, before you know it you are
occupied with a complicated querke and cannot get to the root of the
problem. After much stress and suffering one may end up back at
square one, this progress seems like progress but may only be recoil,
the original problem still remains and there is no solution yet.
TAKE A BREATHER AND PRAY, when God said the simple will be made wise,
it is true, a simple solution is often the best. Don't
over-annalize things and look too deep, do what works best, rest on it,
pray about it and think simple.
When it comes to life and we try to take care of things on our own or
try to decide what WE want from OUR lives it can create stress and
ultimately spiritual death. The basic solution is this,
everything was created, there is a creator and we were created to
please our creator (GOD). Don't overannalize this thing we call
life, experience what really is life by submitting to God's glory.
God bless you all.

| Look who is posting now! ME! whats up with that!!!! April posting on my
page. She thinks she is so coooool, alright she is. I have
not been spending much time on the computer and April seems to have
already told you all the cool stuff so yeah. On saturday (I think
it was saturday) we saw third day and Davic Crouter, sorry to you third
day fans but David C. was better. I still enjoyed the whole
things though. well right now i am listening to Todd Agnew "wait for
your rain"
I cannot believe im this dirty
and im ashamed to even ask to be clean
i can't think of anyone less worthy
i've nothing to offer or bring
so i throw myself on your mercy
and i throw myself at your feet
and i throw my filth on the grace of one
whose beauy is beyond me
and I wait...and I wait
This is just the first verse and chorus,
but the song is so incredibly impactful. To think of how covered
in filth and sin we are and the only way to be clean is to cast our
pride aside and give God complete control. To surrender yourself,
filth and all. God's grace is so abundant and great and God's
love pours out like rain, cleansing our filthy vessels of sin and
washing us pure making us vessels of light. SURRENDER TO JESUS!
We all are surrounded and marked by sin, but if we cry out to Jesus,
His love will wash everything away.... Washing daily is part of good
hygein. Have you been cleansed yet today? Are you afraid
God won't hear your cry, are you covered in filth and alone? I
once was. Cry out to Jesus, ask him to make you pure and
clean. He will never let you done, all you have to do is
surrender it all to him. if anyone needs to talk about anything,
or just needs to hear a voice on the other end of the line, give me a
call, 651-468-5310. There is nothing more powerful than the love
and Grace of Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus turns away from nobody
for His arms were nailed open wide for all. He is waiting for you
to run to Him, do yourself a favor and run to Him. Run to Him
ALWAYS.
