| Married life? No problem mon.So Fan and I are back from our honeymoon in Jamaica mon. It was pretty cool to go to another country/culture and see different types of people. We stayed at Couples resort in Negril, which is sort of like Sandals, except that it includes more water sports and activities for the price. It was nice, except for all of the mosquitoes. I counted at least 30 bugbites. Fan got fed up after the 4th day and we called the front desk. They sent over a candle called "No squito". It would have been funny if the candle brand were called "No squito mon". Haha, I crack myself up.
The people in Jamaica are really laid back (apparently, a lot of people smoke weed). Everyone kept saying "yea mon, no problem mon" to us. All the water sports people remembered our names since we were in that area all the time. It's probably because we were also the only asian couple there.
Fan really loved sailing. Some of the other things we did were kayaking, water skiing (which was insanely hard and stressful), jet skiing, scuba diving, and snorkeling. Scuba diving was pretty cool. it was actually cooler just wearing the scuba gear and breathing through the mask than the actual looking at the reefs. I mean, the reefs were cool, but they looked the same as when we went snorkeling. The gear was insanely heavy though, and when i got out of the water, I basically toppled over from the weight. That thing must have weighed like over 100 pounds. We also went on a catamaran cruise and night snorkeling (scary).
Our airplane/travel wasn't great. I would recommend never flying American Airlines since they don't seem to maintain very safe planes, or hire licensed pilots. We ended up having a 10 hour delayed flight on Tuesday back to the states (apparently, some people were there since Sunday), missed our connection in Miami, and had to spend the night there. They gave us a whole bunch of food vouchers and a hotel voucher, but the whole travel process made us extremely tired since we only caught 3 hours of sleep. Plus, Fan and I weren't aware that we qualified for a food voucher when they kept delaying our flight, and so we actually spent 20 dollars on dinner before we got the voucher :T . We ended up buying a whole bunch of 4$ fruit plates to eat to be healthy.
All in all it was fun, but it's nice to be back. Fan said we need a vacation from our vacation. Lol. I think it's because we spent so much money that we didn't feel like we could just sit there at the resort and lay out in the sun like a lot of the people were doing. We felt the need to experience and do every single activity they offered (which meant waking up at 7:30am some mornings to make the lessons).
Many people are asking how married life is. The funny thing is, it doesn't really feel any different because Fan is still working in New Jersey (he says for another 1.5 weeks) because of a collaboration with another lab there. So, we're still basically living apart since I'm here in Philadelphia by myself all week, and he just comes back on the weekends. The most different thing about married life is probably the fact that I have to call him my 'husband' now and not my 'fiance' or even my 'boyfriend'. Also, sometimes I have to remind myself that when people say Mrs. Yang, they're talking about me. Haha.
We messed up a date (okay I messed up a date) on the marriage license, so we actually technically don't have one yet. We had to invalidate the one we got since Fan was listed as being born in 1985 rather than 1983 (oops). Apparently, it's really complicated to change anything on an already approved marriage license, so it's taking awhile to get approval for the changes. Anyways that's it for now. Hopefully Fan can come back soon and actually start living here!

| insectsSo today I killed two small bugs within 30 seconds. I found them on the carpet in my living room while I was watching some TV. They were impossible to kill even though I squished em really really hard, so I ended up flushing them both down the toilet. Hopefully, they're not secretly little fishies.
Anyways, so I went on the internet to see if I could identify these little insects. After about 10 minutes of searching through all types of bugs, ticks, mites, other funny named bugs.... i think I've diagnosed my problem.
I have an infestation of grain weevil, most likely through improper storing of my rat food... (thanks Fan!)
I suspect that the weevils originate from the little seeds/peanuts/corn that we've been storing for the rats as treats. When Fan comes over, he likes to feed them the corn/seeds, but he ALWAYS forgets to cap the container!! Hence, now the grain weevils are probably everywhere.... I think I'm going to throw away the rest of the bag... I'd rather waste ~$2.50 than have to sit/walk on grain weevils!
I was thinking though, I am really good at identifying insects... About a year/two years ago, my house had these funny looking moth like things flying around our kitchen. After a little researching, I discovered that they were indian meal moths (or pantry moths), again, probably arising from this uneaten box of chocolates that wasn't properly sealed. It was actually pretty nasty because they had laid a whole bunch of babies and the white little babies were crawling out of the chocolate. That was a horrible surprise when I was thinking about eating some chocolate..

| Almost done with MS1Wow, it's been a super long time since I've been on /checked this thing. A lot has happened in life since then.
I'll be finishing up the first year of med school in about a week. I'm excited, yet nervous at the same time because that means that I'll be going onto second year soon.... then onto take the boards. Yikes.
I moved to a new condo. This place is a definitely a huge change from living in a 9ft x 5ft room for my last year of college. Going from 45 feet of space to somewhere around 850-900 ft is a huge difference!! I've started watching a lot of HGTV as a result. Heh. The houses/designs on that channel always look so nice!
Let's see, what else? This past year I got engaged and I'll be getting married on June 21st! That will be exciting. Really looking forward to me and Fan being able to start a new life together! It'll be so fun! It's kind of weird that I'll be married at a pretty young age (in comparison with the average American, which is like 27-28). At the same time, it's kind of cool too. I'm so glad I have Fan!
We'll be going to Jamaica for our honey moon which should be lots of fun. Fan and I both have never been there, so it will be cool to experience a different culture/place together. Building memories. Lalala.
Oh, I got three pet rats. Two white ones named Vanilla and Pearl and a grey and white hooded one named Storm. Storm is by far our favorite, although it wasn't always that way. Fan and I used to think that Storm was retarded and the albino lab rats were smart. However, we now know better... One of the white ones (can't tell the difference) is really stupid! She's always trying to steal the others' food and won't try to get it from our hands. I feel bad for Storm because I feel like she's always being picked on by the other two since she's smaller too (even though she's the oldest).
What I really want though, is a dog or cat... haha. Too bad Fan is slightly allergic to cats, and I don't know if we have the time/energy for a dog yet...
Anyways, back to studying!
