Maintenance
Let us know at least a day or two BEFORE you plan on revamping the site so that we do NOT lose the blog we are currently typing. :( I went to hit post two hours ago and I lost everything that I typed. Besides that, some of us are in the middle of other things on here. It would be nice if we, as your product users, were told about these kinds of things. At least Zynga notifies me--no matter how horrible the customer service is. -
Top Ten Friends
Please give us a top 10 friends list on our private home page. That way we can track the blogs and pulses of the 10 closest xanga friends in our list. It should only show up on our private page. -
Blog per Email
I would appreciate to have the option of blogging via email, because xanga is not available everywhere, for example in china. -
Drafts
It would be nice to have a draft archive where you can save unfinished entries. it would be then nice to have them listed on the dashboard as a seperate column where you can view all your uncompleted entries. -
Word-stamp Timestamps: Entries will be Indelibily Tagged with each Public Timestamp Date and Time
IDEA: At the bottom of each entry will be a record of its "public" publication date and each past timestamp. REASON Excessive timestamping has created a two-tiered Xanga universe. This is bad for blogging. JUSTIFICATION: (i) With public record of each timestamping occurance, this idea will act as a disincentive for excessive, inconsiderate, and frivilous timestamping. (ii) Timestamping information will help Xagans positively track entry history, evolution, and growth. -
Edit Pulse Comments.
I think we should be able to edit our comments on pulses, like we are able to do with blog comments. -
moderated commenting
The ability to moderate comments. There are many other blogging sites out there that let you moderate comments or let comments wait to be posted until you approve them. I know of people who have left Xanga for other blogs because they wanted the ability to moderate comments. -
Ban option
Should Xanga give us the option to automatically delete every comment a person left on our blog, when we ban that person from our site. -
Topic Trends
I think it would be a great idea to post a list of the topics being discussed on the Front Page. It would make tracking what's being talked about easier and allow other people to join in on talking about the subject as well. I try to look for trends in topics when I read my subs, but sometimes there are so many people writing it's hard to tell what is trending that day. It would have to be a daily or weekly thing. -
Easier to Comment
I'd like to see xanga easier for non xanga subscribers to make comments without feeling obligated to make a xanga account just to comment on a post they found surfing the internet. -
Organizing Posts
I have two blogs, a personal one, and one where I post my stories. On both I frequently write about reoccurring themes. I propose that Xanga creates some sort of organizing system for post versus the traditional chronological order. That way I can put all posts of one story together instead of having them scattered depending on when I wrote it. -
Remove Third Party Trackers
I don't feel safe knowing some psycho knows my IP address (where I live). None of the other social networking sites allow third party tracking. We already have footprints, so an additional tracker seems irrelevant and possibly harmful toward Internet anonymity, which may result in decrease usership. -
Blocking By IP Address
Allow Xanga users to trace IP addresses of non-signed in visitors and block individual IP addresses from accessing your site. Use this in place of sign-in lock to keep only a few non-Xanga individuals out, and to still be able to appear on the Xanga front page. -
Xanga Life Status
I have recently received Xanga life status. It would be good to have a new level or mutiple levels of life on Xanga. eg. If a person has life but doesn't blog much anymore it should only be a regular life status, but those who blog everyday or almost everyday could have a special true status. Maybe a true silver, bronze and gold status. gold status would be for those who continue to blog like they did when they were trying to get true status. -
Rec comments
I've been on other blogs, and you can rec, or bump a comment. Sometimes I don't necessarily want to reply to the blog, because someone else has already said it what I want to say. So, why not rec comments. -
follow-up on inquiries and reporting
We get no reply or any response of action when we ask a question or report inappropriate content. I'd like the xanga team to be more active in following up with inquiries of all kinds, just so we know we haven't been ignored. -
Another bonus credits
Bonus credits if Xanga uses your question for featured questions. -
Look and Feel - Design your page from scratch option
Xanga has came up with multiple different ways for people to express themselves through their sites layouts/designs. Xanga offers us themes and skins and even allows us to custom design our page. But it's also very limited to the way we want to express ourselves. What I believe would be a great improvement would be if Xanga gave us the *option* to design our page from scratch(completely blank page)and let us integrate in the blog. This way we're not restricted from whatever design we want. -
more credit ideas
So far we can only get credits by commenting on people entries, getting minis, by earning them(the offers on Xanga = extra credits) I think it be neat if we got them for commenting on pulses, photos, audio Also it be nice if you entry go recommend and submitting to be possibly be featured you get more credits. -
E-mail to pulse
Using the email account you registered with Xanga, send an email to pulse.xanga.com and your email header and body will become a pulse. Of course if you're email is too long, Xanga will truncate it.
