As this is my xanga site I am going to entertain y'all with me literary genuis...not wait! comeback! anyway this is a poem that I wrote for school, I call it...Rat Attack so here it is along with the sonnet of bugs. (both in a official rhyming pattern. Rat Attack Little rat with eyes so red Why are you inside my bed? Little rat oh no oh no! You have your teeth inside my toe Little claws that scratch and skitter You are such a nasty critter! Now I’m bleeding blood so red How I wish that you were dead Ha! A foot right in your face! Now away I see you race! Down the covers there you go Do not cause more blood to flow On the ground, yes that’s the way! Leave me in my bed to lay As I drift off into sleep I pray that this quiet will keep Alas for this was not to be For so the rats themselves decree For I heard with a groan And believe me I did moan Little sounds inside the wall Something coming down the hall He is back and with some troops Oh those furry little dupes! Don’t they know of my new gun? When they do how fast they’ll run! Hordes of rats and mice advance Trying to crawl up in my pants Slowly I unveil my gun Super Rat Killer number one! I drew my sights upon a rat Still in frozen terror he sat I pulled the trigger full of glee What I heard then frightened me As the rat his lips did lick My super gun gave out a ‘click’ Oh stupid me so full of woe I did forgot to buy ammo! Quick to think and quick to act I made myself a solemn pact If go down and die I must some fat rat skulls I will bust I used my gun just like a club And many noses I did snub I swung to left swung to right I won’t go down without a fight Mice and rats fly everywhere But still attack me they do dare I struck a mouse upon its back Impaled another on a tack A rat flew high up in the air I smacked another without care But for all the numbers that I smack Still more fiercely they attack They close in all around me They assail me with such glee I know not if I can last the night Because for all my strength and might They have such numbers so that they can attack from every way I see they’re getting smarter now They try to dodge me but KAPOW I see one leap off of the fan I quickly smack him with a pan But then one grabbed my air soft gun ‘Twas then I knew that I was done I looked around at my huge fight And oh my word what a sight! Around my bedroom there was spread Many rats; they all were dead And then I went back into battle And lots of rodents I did addle But as I fought so hard and long I listened for the nightingale’s song For that sweet bird spoke of the dawn And then those rats would all be gone But as I fought I grew so weary That my destiny did look dreary I fought now just as a machine And from my senses I could not glean But as around me I did gaze It seemed that in my killing craze I’d destroyed my enemies And then I heard a little sneeze And as I looked down at my toe The sight I saw gave me such woe There on my foot sat the first rat The one who on my bed had sat The one who’d chomped down on my toe The one who had attacked me so And the plot that showed in his fiend eyes Filled me with such vile surprise That off the bed in fear I flew I landed wrong; my ankle blew And hit my head on the hard floor And then I remember not a thing When I awoke my heart took wing I was not dead as I had feared But as I looked all was weird There were no bodies from last night No signs at all of that fight Had I just imagined it? Made up every little bit? Was it all just a bad dream? That is how it would seem But as my awesome find I blurt I realize that my toe does hurt. The Sonnet of Bugs Little insects on attack Biting bugs view me a meal Those bugs must think I taste like veal To those cruel things I’m just a snack And for all the bugs I smack More come back with renewed zeal For those little bugs I feel An urge to go out and attack What then can I use to fight them? Wait what is this thing I see? That thing there; that long slim item To my fight, this is the key! A can of Raid™ (edited from OFF™) for me to spray! Now all those bugs will go away! |
