I tried to go to Fall Convocation today; I really did.  I got up, got dressed in my nice clothes, put on my coat and walked with Jessie and Jessica down to College Baptist.  I went downstairs to where the seniors were supposed to congregate. I got a program and read it.  This is where I started to lose my resolve.  The title of President Arnn's speech was "Limited Government and the Liberal Arts."  I did not want to hear that speech.  In fact, there was nothing about the program that I wished to participate in.  Lynn came and said she was surprised to see me there.  I generally don't go to things that people pretend are mandatory and are not actually mandatory.  So I declared that I would leave if someone would go with me.  I had two volunteers.  So I led my little rebellion out of College Baptist as a great number of faculty members were entering.  I will go next semester, because then I am actually graduating and Dr. Arnn will not speaking. 

At the wedding I went to Saturday the maid of honor got so drunk after the ceremony that she could not come into the reception.  She just stayed in the bathroom until she was sober enough that her husband could walk her to the car because he didn't want to carry her.  She missed her best friend's wedding because she was too stupid to know when to slow down with the bottle.  That's rather terrible.  I got to drink the maid of honor's champagne which made me happy because only the head table was getting champagne.  The best man was very drunk too, as was made VERY apparant by his toast.  He was still upright though.  I guess that's something.  His nineteen year old girlfriend who has a six month old child caught the bouquet.  She shouldn't have gone out to catch it though because she is still married (not to the best man, to the baby's father) and in the process of getting a divorce.
