  • I've clocked in about six hours in the last three days. My body feels weary but my brain feels as if  it's on it's 10th dose of crack cocaine. Perhaps it's the fact that I'm leaving this stinking country and returning to civilization in a day. Or maybe it's because I'm still indecisive in which career I want to lean towards. I'm just glad I'm less than 24 hours away from having to wake up to the fresh smell of shit every morning, mortar rockets that don't hit anything but the satellite for our 28.8 KB piece of shit internet, and eating next to the local nationals who don't understand the concept of personal hygiene. Bye bye Iraq, hello Kuwait. See ya next year.

  • Life is good. They had real eggs at the chow hall today, not the powdered ones they always serve. I've never been so happy about eggs before. Can't wait to tasteJ some real food. Granted, I'll be back in Virginia and the closest pho spot is 30 mins away but only taste half way decent. What else would you expect when it's owned by Caucasions and the food is cooked by Mexicans. Reminds me of the time when we went to LA and ate pho in K-Town. Nastiest shit ever, the meatballs were the size of your palm, soup was bland, noodles were all stuck together like a blob of rice balls, and it was expensive. Oh well, 4-5 more months and I'll be back in San Jose.

  • My life consist of a bunch of  what if''s. It seems like every time I have my mind set on a certain goal, numerous road blocks would arise.  I wish everything were just handed to me, then again, nothing worth obtaining is easily grasped.

  • I don't consider myself a patriotic person but when I hear or read discussions on the War in Afghanistan and Iraq from people who never experienced it first hand, it pisses me off. These discussions, usually supported by theories and not facts, are fueled by people who have nothing better to do than watch Michael Moore documentaries all day. Every one is entitled an opinion but when it demoralizes the very existence of our presence, it’s almost as worse if not more, than saying you’re wrong for being a mechanic or a doctor. People spend 8, 12, and even 20 years dedicating their life to something that is “bigger” than themselves. The reason they enlisted, whether it was for the medical benefits, paid college tuition, a change in life style, or even those who feel obligated to serve their country doesn’t necessarily matter because they’re doing something noble, maybe even honorable. The reason for this post is not for recognition or even for pity, but to help educate those over-opinionated and simple minded civilians who’ve been fed with a silver spoon all their life. It’s for those who undermine the existence of the people I work, eat, and even shit on the same port-a-pottie with. Before you start to critcize someone, you should first walk a mile in their shoes.
