Brown shirt Sunday again??

As the vocalists were taking their places on Sunday, I realized that they were placing me next to Vaughn who...can I get a drum roll please... was wearing the SAME THING!!!  We were both wearing black shirts and blue jeans!!!  Last time it was brown shirt Sunday and this time it was black shirt Sunday!  Grace Lee was laughing so hard I thought she was going to pee in her pants...and then I made her and Angel scoot over so I wouldn't be the one standing next to Vaughn.  Gosh, you'd think we plan this kind of stuff or something....

Then, I started the reflection song (when everyone should be praying or reflecting on the sermon) and during first service, I TOTALLY blanked on the words!  I heard my voice sing and start to trail off... and then I literally turned my head completely around to look at the screen to catch some lyrics.

And then it gets worse... determined not to have a repeat, I studied the words during 2nd service.  I even wrote down the key words in the palm of my hand just in case.  Then I started singing and blanked on the SAME EXACT SPOT!  Luckily, I wrote some words in my hand so I peeked.  But not without some band members noticing and trying hard not to laugh.  Sigh... does this kinda stuff happen to anyone else?  Or is it just me?

The perfect guy...

Ok...so I stole the pics off my brother's facebook.  But I couldn't resist posting some pics of my nephew Dante.

I wonder if the girls in Dante's day care are into "bad boys"...

Ballers...

Artsy guys...

Or a guys' guy...

Being a Ling, you know he's going to be musical too.

I think we'll have a heartbreaker on our hands in a couple of years...

Relationships and Football..very much alike.

The other day as I was reliving Illinois' awful loss at the Rose Bowl (although it was amazing they made an appearance there), I came to the conclusion that relationships and football are very much alike.

So here it is:
Guys, you are the quarterback.  Ladies are the receivers.  Guys get to pick which receiver to throw the ball to...although sometimes they'll get sacked by another guy.  They also may accidentally throw signals to the wrong girl and the ball will be intercepted.  Or she may not be interested and it will be an incomplete pass.

The downs are representative of emotional involvement.  If you think about it, the 2nd down is more investment than the first, etc.  You're that much closer to a touchdown with each down.  Sometimes, it doesn't work out during the 2nd down because the ball gets fumbled.  Breaking up is like a fumble.

But then you'll have that awesome play where the QB will pass the ball to a girl and she goes for the touchdown.   Definitely get those extra points after you're married.

I've also noticed that relationships don't always work out when girls try to QB.  Of course that's not all "plays", but frequently.  Which leads me to my last thoughts...we females need to be available to receive the ball.  And males, sometimes it doesn't work out, get back onto the field and be the leader that God made you to be!

Are y'all motivated now?  Thoughts?  Comments?
