  • they said they would delete my account if i didn't post again...

so i decided it may be a good time to do a little update. so many things have changed in the past year:

#1: i am no longer a broadcast major. i decided that i love the search for news and information and being able to share that with others, but i can't stand the people who are there just to be on tv. if there is one thing i never want to be, its superficial.

#2: Peter and i are no longer dating. he broke up with me on February 9 of this year. we are still really good friends. we talk on the phone when he is out of town and see each other when he is in town, but we are no longer a couple. i miss him so much, but i also missed him when we were dating and he was always out of town for work. i don't know what the future holds for us, but for right now, he is still my best friend.

#3: i have one more semester of college left. because i switched from broadcast to advertising, i will be graduating in December of this year. i can't wait to be out of the college scene and into a more mature world, but i am nervous about getting a job in the current economy. advertising is one of the things that is cut (but shouldn't be) when companies are going through hard times.

#4: this summer i am interning with The District in Columbia. so far it has been a lot of fun, although i am disappointed that i didn't get an internship with an advertising agency. however, next semester, i have been chosen to be a part of MOJO Advertising Agency. it is a great opportunity and will hopefully provide me with some great connections for the "real world" that is getting closer and closer.

well, i think that's all the big stuff...more to come later.

  • Due to popular demand, lol, i am going to try to start posting again. Apparently there is something called footprints on this xanga thing that tells everyone when you visit their site. Jes so everyone knows, I haven’t been stalking you, I just get bored in class and check everyone’s sites (sometimes several times, lol)

For the update: School is going really well, although it is keeping me ridiculously busy. I am in Broadcast 1 class right now. We are learning how to be reporters. It is a lot of fun, but also scary to know that I will be doing it so soon. This summer I will be taking Broadcast 2 and Broadcast 3. Altogether, it will be 14 weeks of classes and will start the Monday after finals and go until the Friday before Fall semester. I’m a little sad that I won’t have a single week off, but I know that this will really put me ahead of the game and allow me to build a great resume tape before I look for a job in a year…Yikes! I have been looking at possible markets to start in, and I am really interested in reporting in Eugene, Oregon. It is an adorable little town, a great tv market, close to the ocean, and Peter has family out there.

Speaking of Peter, him and I are doing really, really well. Next week will be 9 months, and it has only gotten better as we have been together. Over Christmas break, we went on a ski trip with several of his friends from church, it was a blast. He has spent quite a bit of time with my family and last month, my family met his mom and we all went to church together…it went really well. Peter has been really understanding of my work load this semester, but we still find plenty of time to spend together (even if it is just doing flashcards together before an exam). I wish I had more words to explain how special he is to me. We just share a really special closeness that I have never felt with anyone else. It is a great feeling!

Oh, and Tally, our little baby, is huge now…he almost weighs 100 pounds. He is convinced that he is a lap dog, lol, I love playing with him!

So, that should do it for now. Not a whole lot new. Just school, Peter, and our baby, Tally.

    Life is good!

  • it's been a while...

today i feel ashamed for how long its been since i've posted, lol...well, at least a little.

school is going really well, i just found out last week that if i take one class this summer, i can graduate in 4 years instead of the 4 1/2 i thought it would take. and i also found out that i will only have to take 18 hours my Entire senior year, but in order to still be a kappa, or check out a library book, or go to the gym, i have to be a full time student, so i will take one extra fluff (and i mean Seriously fluff) class each semester my senior year to make my last two semesters only 12 hours each....i am SO excited!!!

classes this semester are also going well. i'm in a journalism class where we are actually beginning to interview people, and report, and edit, and end up with really exciting finsihed products! my other classes are quite managable as long as i keep on top of the studying.

i am really excited about the summer class that i will be taking, it's called Broadcast 2 and for the class i will get to become a reporter at KOMU, which is the NBC affiliate in Columbia, MO. i can't even say how Excited/Nervous i am! Mizzou is the only Journalism school in the nation where you get to be a reorter on a national affiliate for your class. i am so happy that i chose to transfer here!

i bet you knew it was coming: yes, i am going to tell you all how Amazing Peter is (the other reason i am so happy that i came to Missouri)! it's been over four months now and he is still putting up with me :) we spend lots of time together and still can't get enough of each other. he is as kind as the day i met him (when he went after all the golf balls i kept hitting out of the put-put game). the other day i made dinner for him because i thought it would be a nice change from eating out and as i was making it, he came in the kitchen, and unloaded the dishwasher (which i thought was quite impressive). and then after dinner, he went in the kitchen and washed ALL the dishes. what a stud!

Kappa is going well also. initiation was this weekend, and i have a pledge daughter. her name is Phoebe Wu, but i like to call her "my little Wuster." haha. she is a sweetheart, very intelligent, and completely down to earth. just my kind of girl. i have have had so much fun spoiling her this past week! i am excited to finally be a pledge mom :)

so, i think that's it. school, Peter, kappa...all going well and keeping me quite busy, which is the way i like it!

  • i am never satisfied with thinking a certain way "just because that's what i think." instead, i always try to figure out the reasoning behind my thoughts. lately, i have been pondering what the specific reasons are that i feel how i do towards Peter....and i think that i have finally begun to figure it out: in addition to being an all around Amazing man, his personality traits are so balanced:

He is:                                                And yet, he is also:

              -funny                                                -serious when needed
              -protective                                         -not jealous
              -competitive                                       -not intimidated
-a complete gentleman                        -supportive of my dreams
              -handsome                                         -not arrogant
              -manly/tough                                      -sensative/sweet
              -spontaneous                                      -responsible
              -strong                                               -gentle
              -adventurous                                       -aware of his limits
-has standards                                    -doesn't look down on others
-talented                                             -willing to share talents/help others

these are the things that i have learned about Peter in the first month of dating him, and i am thrilled to continue to learn even more of his amazing traits :) i can't wait for all of you to meet him...he is one in a million!

  • the last week has been full of all kinds of craziness, so i decided that i should update before all of the events of this coming weekend.
last thursday, i got a call from Peter asking me if i wanted to go to Nebraska with him. i was initially surprised, but said that i would love to go with him. he then told me that his best friend, Andrew, who lives in Lincoln, Nebraska had found a little puppy that Peter could buy. after i heard the word puppy, i was practically jumping up and down to go with him.
after a five hour drive, we made it there....and the puppy was an absolutely adoable full-bred rottweiler. he was so soft and so playful. peter was debating what to name him all day and then that night, the puppy started chewing on my purse. i ran over to it and said, "No, don't do that, that was made in iTaly!" and then his best friend said, "Tally! that's a perfect name for him!" hence the puupy is named Tally (i later found out it was an old nickname of Peter's) because he has excellent "taste" in purses! lol
on the trip home, he did really well. he just curled in a ball and slept at my feet...what a cutie!
however, Peter and i quickly realized how high maintenance Tally can be. he doesn't sleep through the nights, he needs to be trained almost constantly, he eats and drinks a lot, he poops and pees even more....but, lol, even with all of that, he is still a great dog. he adores Peter and follows him everywhere and when i'm over there, i think he thinks i'm his momma. he is such a cutie-patootie :)

Peter and i had lots of other fun this weekend, but Tally was the big highlight, so i will leave  my update dedicated to the little guy.
