Dear diary,

PRE-CAMP

Five of us will be going camping in Ulu Langat tomorrow. I’m so excited! I get to finally leave this concrete jungle and relax and unwind in a REAL jungle. Mother Nature will be so pleased with me. I hope it doesn’t rain tho!

Paul, UMeng and I went to Giant for groceries. Michelle couldn’t come shopping because she lives too far away and Wei Soon, he’s just useless and went to Red Box instead [to spoil all their mics]…I know, what ever happened to team work?? *rolls eyes*

We're gonna have a wild BBQ....

Mary had a little Lamb. Nyehehehee…

I'm bringing Papadums so we can snack in the jungle. I ownself fry wan you know!

It was very hot, standing in front of a boiling wok of oil. But-I persevered. My love for Papadums is unflinching.

So I’ve packed my bags, and I’m ready to go….dum dee dum.

This will be my third camping trip. I’ve grown from a wuss to…quite lasak lah, I think.

I mean, pissing out in the great big open? A crocodile could nicely jump out of the river and bite you right there! You gotta be quite brave.

It’s always great to connect with nature, and great company always doubles the fun! This marks the last of my holidays. And then, God have mercy on me…

Hey kids, it's CD Review Time!

Today's CD is by Hillsong : 'Mighty To Save'. I am a Hillsong Junkie. And I am going to marry Marty Sampson. I DON'T CARE!!!...

So anyways, this is their latest CD, the 2006 copy. They produce a new album every year. At first they were really good, but when it reached 'By Your Side', it just felt like they were being forced to write songs and they all started to sound too Darlene-ish.

Soon, United Live began to overshadow them, coming out and trying extremely cool stuff [thanks to Marty, of course]. And then Hillsong started becoming very blllaaaahhhh....

But this album, it's different. The good is very good. And the bad is...very-Darlene-ish. So you get the best [and the worst] of both worlds.

Thing about this album is they rotate the musicians. Means it's not the same drummer throughout the entire album, etc...so it's a good mix. They have a huge band this time, there's like 5worship leaders and 4keyboardist and a whole jumbalaya of people....I prefer it this way. You get a fusion of United and Hillsong. It's good.

It comes with a bonus VCD. No too bad for RM35. I don't think much of it cos it's like a habit already. I HAVE to get my hands on the latest Hillsong/United. I CANNOT miss a single album even tho I don't necessarily like the songs. It's a disease I tell you...

So, let's buy, not burn! Cos if you burn, you might as well go and rob Darlene.

Today, an article in the papers caught my eye. It was about an 18-year old NS Trainee who left the camp early to be with her 2 kids. [a 17month old and a 6 month old]. Her husband is 23.

Don’t we all love to read bizarre news about young teenage girls mothering children? I know I do, it intrigues me. I can’t for the life of me imagine myself having a child now. And I am not 18.

Yes, yes. Half a decade ago in China, my ovaries would be considered nice and ripe, perfect for bearing offspring for my stranger husband whom which I was match-made to. And then we would make love in the moonlight and have many sons who will bring honour to the family, and then I would die happy because I had fulfilled my wifely duties. Ahh….but that was a long, long time ago in China.

But NOW…have babies at 16? HOW CAN?!

I shudder at the thought of The Sister [who is now 18] having one baby feeding from her ding-a-lings while trying to change a soiled diaper of another baby while watching “Mean Girls-starring Lindsay Lohan”. GAK!!!....

I don’t personally know of any peers my age who are mothers. I’ve only heard rumours, stuff like…“Remember Ms X? She sat behind us in form 3. That day ah, I saw her. She was wearing pregnant baju, buying Pampers somemore you know!!”.... But I’m pretty sure it happens. LOADS of young teenage girls get pregnant everyday. And LOADS of young teenage girls get abortions everyday. For those few brave ones who don’t, I salute them.

But at the same time, I can’t help but feel sorry for them. Yes, we’ve all heard of how motherhood changes everything and the sight of your new born baby brings indescribable joy, ya-dee-dah, ya-dee-dah *yawn*.... But seriously, is this Joy the same when you are 16?? How do you be a mother, AND experience the growing pains [and joys of course] of a teenager at the same time?

You are forced to practically skip the entire rebellious-curious phase of your life and play Mom, FOREVER....and then you suddenly find yourself in a warehouse sale, tangled in mass of sweaty parents scrambling to grab as many packets of ‘Huggies Pull-Up Pants’ as their hands can carry. You can’t go to the prom because baby needs to feed every 2hours. You wake up every morning with baby vomit in your hair, and you are thankful it’s not his shit.

I make it sound like mothers are doomed to an eternal life of suffering and damnation. But nolah…it’s not so bad. I think. My mom has a jolly good life, but she had me at 30.

In retrospect…

Maybe these young mothers chose this path? Maybe they willingly got banged up by the boy across the street? Maybe they got bored with being carefree and having no responsibilities? Maybe they found the love of their life and decided the happiest thing would be to make lots and lots of mini thems? Maybe? Maybe?

Here’s a short list of no-no’s for Mommy:

Mothers can’t go to the Megasale for more than 2hours.
Mothers can’t have late nights out. No football definitely.
Mothers can’t say ‘stupid’ and ‘your head lah!’.
Mothers can’t watch D.Housewives without being interrupted.
Mothers can’t eat ice cream straight out of the tub.
Mothers can’t play Sims2 till 3am.
Mothers can’t sleep till noon.
Mothers can’t go to NS for long.
Mothers can’t do a million things
Mothers have to do another million things.

It is perplexing why anyone would want babies at 16. Perhaps there is a secret reward that only a mother will discover? For now, my only reason is the old saying:

“ one man’s poison is another man’s meat”.

Hat’s off to all 16year old Mommies. You are my heroes!!

...so I'm back, tough luck- P.D. has virtually no hunks, much less surfer boys. What a mad mad mad trip. Haha. But it was memorable, in a good way. Mel was so sweet to let us bunk at her apartment. And yes, that's sunset in P.D, who knew a 2megapixel cam could produce pictures like these? Must be cos I took it! Muahaha....

So that was the trip for you. And I am proud to say that we spent RM70++ only, which includes food & fuel. Cheap lehh???....Accomodation and Entertainment were free. It was nice, like a all holidays....

If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see one color, pink. However. if you stare at the black "+" in the center,
the moving dot turns to green.
Now, concentrate on the black "+" in the center of the picture.
After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see a green dot rotating.

It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see.

So it's goodbye World Cup.

I'm a little miffed cos I thought it was a skillless win. If it wasn't for that pernalty, the whole game would've taken a different turn. But, like all good things, they have to come to an end.

But at least we made it to the semis, and thats a win in itself =)

I still am anti-French and it will take me awhile to get over the fact that they ousted Spain, Brazil and now Portugal.

So, my vote goes to Italy. Thank God they decided to swap their baby-Tee's with normal looking jerseys this year. Goodluck Italy, go make some french fry!
