College time has ended

Well xanga-ites I'm not on here much but i know some ppl still really prefer it and for those of you whom i may be refering to i wanted to share in my excitement w/ you (dispite your lack of Myspace-ness) that I am in fact ending my 4 1/2 year college career today. What do the horizons hold? i know not, but hopefully it is exciting and filled with nerdy mis-adventures that can someday be recorded as random short stories or a television mini-series that airs during sweeps week. thanks to all who have made college awesome for me (cause i feel overall it certainly was). Peace from the man known as "travis" ( i want to get a symbol for my name)

homework EVERYWHERE!!!! Gupton wants an 8 page paper, so does Bridges, Owens wants 6 and Linton wants a lesson outline, I need to make a resume next week but after my CLEP test on Monday that i HAVE to pass for next semester to go smoothly and make sure i have the group presentation ready for Wheeler on Tuesday but have 2 Halloween events this weekend too......my brain is hurting and i think i'm making myself sick from the stress. well no more time for internet gotta do a paper! Why is it I pay people so much money to make me go through this?

What do you think?

I get lots of posts on hot, debatible topics so I was thinking that one that usually get's ppl going is contemporary christian music. Christian...secular...what to listen to? I think a lot of ppl feel better about listening to family friendly CCM stuff while others find it kind of, well lame. I hear some say that music influences you, like this kid in my music appriciation class a few years ago said that Metallica makes him angry when he hears it, but i get relaxed by their kickin guitar rocking yet when i hear some Michael W. Smith or another worship cover I want to throw the CD player against the wall. I mean it seriously makes me angry to listen to. Now i don't group alt. Christian stuff with this because we've got some good puck, ska, folk and metal bands rocking w/ Jesus but they never get radio play. What does get radio play is some of the bottom of the barrel I think. I mean have you ever seen guitar chords for most of it? Same chords, same rhythem, different words...usually, Don't know how to finish a verse? Add a "na,na,na,na" or "jesus ____ (insert something like forever,  friend,  or savior)" and repeat, repeat, repeat. Still can't get it? well just do a worship album of the same songs on everyone else's worship album.

Ok so the music and words might be lacking but the ppl are good right? Ever looked at your favorite CCM star? Ever seen an ugly one? Come on, record companies about God still need cash flow and pretty ppl sell. Teach them 3 chords, write thier songs, and have them tell ppl that the $30 ticket to the show, $20 t-shirt, and $15 CD going in thier pocket is all for the praise of Jesus. Alright, there's my side of the discussion now you can do yours cause I know you've got one (and i want some posts on this one ppl, come on!). The rule is though no bashing me cause i'm not personally attacking you only voicing an opinion and just remember, i'm excluding Alt. christian rock/rap/folk and guys who actually write their own worship songs...oh and btw i usually prefer listening to talk radio or jazz. Later peeps!

I saw the Korffs this weekend, that was nice i really liked that. They will visit again. these are short because i lack sleep. I sleep on an airmatress that is 18 inches tall and pretty comfy...that's just a random fyi. I went to Temple on saturday (the jewish kind) That makes two new religions (went to a Unitarian Universalist church too) in the last 3 weeks. It's nice and yet sad that i'm welcomed more warmly at religions i'm not even a part of then at most churchs i visit. I learn a lot though and expand my worldview, that's important. I want to go to a Jehovah's Witness temple but i never know when they meet or what they even do...never seen one actually. Mormonism, that's my next stop (though Synogogue will be a weekly thing still i think). Mormonism was co-founded my an ex-reformation movement guy...Rigdon, a wack-bag i hear but thus far all i have from mormonism is an episode of South Park, though they hit the nail on the head w/ thier chistian music episode so maybe it might be close to true. I'm rambling cause I need a nap, but i'll lift weights first before i head home. just need to drink more water, i got a Naglene thingy at finishline on sale yesterday and saw my Super Ex-Girlfriend, great movie. I dated a crazy chick once...yeah...well that about covers a ton of subjects so comment on any of your choice, though you can do more than one if you wish. L (number 8) ER

I got Winning Eleven 9 for my xbox yesterday. Yay soccer, I love soccer....yeah. Oh, and Jim's back. Now i can have someone who actually appriciates Power Rangers, this will make my time in the kitchen so much nicer as i was afraid it would be lacking w/o the Korffs around. See why I don't update this thing, cause it wouldn't be too exciting. I'm stuck in a temporary room for a week till i move off campus, i can't wait. Then everyday will be a "hang w/ Nick and Miles" day...as opposed to like every other day like it is now Emoticons are wierd. I need to buy books this week and completely re-vamp my class schedule. that's on my agenda for the weekend. Oh, I've learned the beauty of using torrents to download now. I quit reading comic books because of the price but now that they are free I'm all about some Ironman and Spidey. Manga I still pay for though cause I'm way too otaku not to get a kick out of owning and reading manga books (in reverse page order too!!) That made no sense to a lot of ppl i bet. I'm rambling cause i'm bored at work so i'll see lots of you in a week...and some of you, well i hope sometime.
