The Sun is On My Side

The stack of work in my metaphorical inbox

Stands a mile high

But that's not gonna get me down.

'Cause the air is warm,

And the sunlight looks so nice on the budding trees

That I can hear my Nikon calling

All the way across campus.

For every item checked off the to-do list,

Another's waiting to take its place.

But I don't mind.

'Cause today I've got the sun on my side.

Two children

Smiling

Laughing

Playing

A carefree mood

Such as only childhood can provide.

Once in awhile,

He runs too fast

Trips and falls

Scrapes a knee

And the tears begin

Waiting for Mom to save the day,

She tells how one time she scraped her knee

And Mom kissed it and made it better

It stopped bleeding and she was okay

And she got to go back out to play.

But the boy only scowled

And continued to cry.

Mom comes

The girl goes inside

To find company with

Smiling dolls

And empty faces

And now...a revival!

So, my dear Kat and her lovely writings have inspired me to revive this ol' thing. I've been experiencing a sort of...oh, I don't know...emotional buildup recently, and I think this is the way to cure this sudden fragility.

So, here we go. Random writing!

---

In the quiet of the night,

The music weaving softly

Through my contemplations,

I think of you,

And I know.

I know that,

Despite everything,

We are.

And in the quiet of night,

I turn to face myself

And dare life to stand in my way.

For tonight,

I am free.

Lots of new stuff that I am too lazy to cross post here.

Go read it yourself. ^_^;

I want a new layout...until then, a poem!

There is an ecstasy
In your presence.
A force
I cannot deny.
I breathe you in,
Letting the scent
Fill my veins with
Electricity.

There is an ecstasy
In your touch.
Your fingertips brush mine.
A jolt of energy
Drowns me in elation.
God, what I'd give
To have it never fade.

There is an ecstasy
In your eyes.
Your gaze fixes mine,
And it's over.
I'm yours.
That bright blue glance
Enraptures like nothing else.

There is an ecstasy
In your love.
I am the betrayer,
Yet here we are.
Lost in the beauty
Of our own precious
Inadequacies.
