  • fuck, summer's over bitches.

    SUMMER'S OVERRR. School tomorrow.

what did I do this whole summer?
So today was my last day at E! and it was kind of sad because I really really liked that internship...I learned SO MUCH and got to do so much by myself--LOVED it.

I'm still pretty much obsessed with Justin Timberlake.

Went to the grand canyon this year but the RAW files are too hard to deal with I'm not going to post them up now maybe later. It was awesome made me realize how much I LOVE photography all over again. P.S. I got a new flash! AMAZING pictures will appear here from now on.

    IMG_6643

So I didn't take these pictures, but my boss in the middle did. But I like to put them up anyway cos they're cute. This is the int'l interstitials department at E!. Yes we're a grand total of 7 peeps including me but not anymore cos today was my last day. Love them

    IMG_6622

Hmm ok dunno what's going on here but Ann looks funny and Jonathan is, well, Jonathan.

    IMG_6624

Um so we think we're actually kind of cool like that.

    IMG_6645

This is my supervisor who genuinely thinks I'm 23. Yes, he told me today. and wow we look kinda related. All Asians look the same anyway pshhh.

    IMG_6678

Oh hi this is the Victoria Beckham look... how wonderful.

    IMG_6669

Not sure what this is but for sure it's the Ann F. look.

    IMG_6666

LOVE these girls. Blonde in the middle was Miss Malibu last year, she's gorgeous.

    IMG_6684

Devin the editor! He says he doesn't like E! and all that celebrity jazz but I really think he secretly does cos he knows more about Britney Spears than I do.

    IMG_6706

So Eve performed for us but too bad I don't like Eve that much so ended up talking to people throughout her whole performance. Nice ankle braclet, by the way. How stylish, keepin' up with the Lohan.

OH I just totally downloaded futuresex love sounds onto my itunes. yessssssssss.

  • stupid mistakes comes with a high price.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt need to get over themselves. They're H-list celebs and try way too hard to grab the attention of the public by leeching off Lauren's publicity by bashing the poor girl on Ryan Seacrest's show.

Enough of that. I finished my KTLA internship last week yay! So I have more spare time. Unfortunately over the weekend I was trying park into my ridiculously garage at my apartment and pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake, knocking off my right side mirror and causing a dent on my car door. So now it's at the shop being fixed for $300. Ridiculous. I could've gotten a brand new zoom lens for that price.

And speaking of lenses, Samys called me back and said that it'll be $161 to fix my kit lens for the D70 :(. I think I'm just gonna get a new one but I'm still sad because within the last month I've ruined two of my most prized possessions. Good job me.

The fam is coming this weekend...I still have a lot to do with my apartment before they get here. Rah. I'm still busy as ever even though one job is over.

  • umbrella-ella-ella-ay-ay-ay

So last Monday I finally got my car It's nothing fancy, but it gets me from point A to point B. I was scared to drive it home so the girl who sold it to me drove me home in it hahahahaa. BUT the very next day I drove with Chun to get some CPK downtown and the day after to McCormick's downtown obyagain with Mike to get late dinner. I haven't driven in two months so picking it up again was a little scary. Yesterday I drove all the way to the Beverly Hilton to help with a shoot for the CW Source website and then to the Pacific Design Center and then all the way back from the Beverly Hills to USC. Let's just say I made more than a couple of Angelinos very angry yesterday.

But it's awesome. I love being able to get around without asking other people to drive me or taking smelly Los Angeles public transportation.

Yesterday was sort of interesting. Went to the Beverly Hilton cos we had to interview the cast of that new show Reaper. The other intern and I helped set up and then just stood there and watched. Then we found out that there was a CW afterparty after the TCA Awards at the Pacific Design Center so we drove over there for a 'red carpet' (although the carpet was green....) event and interviewed 'celebrities'...although they are really actually maybe D-list stars..it was an event only to promote the new shows the CW is airing next fall so no one special. But our host is terrible he didn't even know the right questions to ask, I literally spoonfed him with the right questions, otherwise we would've sounded more retarded than we looked already with the CW Source mic. No one knew who we were, to say the least. I wish I could've been the host asking the right questions.

Ugh. I wish I could get out of this internship at the end of this month. I talked to the HR lady about it she basically gave me a huge lecture on how logging tapes could actually be important and that I need to have an open mind.
    Whatever.

    Rihanna is so hot.

  • ju-ly, ju-ly-y-y-yyyyy

    I'm obsessed with Justin Timberlake.

It's only 11am and I've had way too much coffee at work already. But I really feel like it's waaay watered down so it's not too bad.

I've been watching Justin Timberlake all morning. My next Red Carpet Retro will be....yep, Justin Timberlake.

  • the eagle has landed

Posh and Becks have invaded this town. The hype is ridiculous. Not gonna lie though I kind of wanna see the NBC one-hour special of Posh moving to America. Anissa landed the same time into LAX yesterday and made it even more difficult for humble normal citizens like us to get out of that tiny airport. Posh keeps saying she's surprised by all the attention they've been getting because she didn't think they are that big of a deal here. Yea, right. The tabloids have been all over it since beckham signed with LA Galaxy. And ever since then the Staples Center Billboard has had his face plastered on it, anticipating his first exhibition game later this month.

  • oh, hollywood.

Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight is my new guilty pleasure. And as much as Jesse likes to make fun of me listening to it, I still enjoy it because it brings nostalgia of yrs 10 and 11, when we were all obsessed with them. Valentine's Day is my favorite song as of today hahaha.

This morning I made eye contact with Ryan Seacrest. Shudder. E! paid way too much money for him to come over last year. Ratings didn't change much. They even gave him a KIIS studio to do his morning show for the radio. And set up Ryan Seacrest Productions on the second floor.

Two weeks ago Ben Lyons (who i think is uberly cute) held the door for me and said hi, how are you. I just smiled and said hi like a lil girl. Click here to see his blog/face.

Joel Mchale and I had a legit but brief conversation during one of the tapings of his show two weeks ago too. He's a funny guy.

You know I shouldn't even be blogging right now I should be writing a script. My project has a deadlineeeee :)

mmk bye thanks for listening to my adventures on the less talented side of hollywood.

  • moving.

i'm slowly finally moving into my new apartment. Finally. My room is kind of big. yay.

    DSC00967

So Tim came back from Jersey and we both love the beach so we've started our beach tour of summer of '07. Awesome. 2 weeks ago we went to Malibu. I love Vanity Fair, it's really my favorite magazine of all time. This month they shot 20 different covers of celebs and prominent people who are stepping up to raise awareness of the problems in Africa. Everything in the issue is about Africa and it's co-edited by Bono.

    DSC00969

Malibu is gorgeous. It's kind of quiet so I don't know how I'd feel about living there anytime in my lifetime. We ate at Malibu Seafood...and each got an amazing ahi tuna burger. for $8.95 with fries. :)

    DSC00968

It was sooo good. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

    DSC00979

Last week we went to Hermosa Beach, just south of 'SC and close to the airport. I feel like Hermosa/Manhattan Beach is the epitome of Southern California--it's exactly what you see in movies: beach houses, rollerblading/beach cruising along the promenade...oh, california. And the people are beautiful there. This may be a place I'd want to live in if I ever make it back to LA after I graduate.

    DSC00975

So work at E! has been great. My Red Carpet Retro of Angelina Jolie got approved and now we're just waiting for it to go through audio and the CGs to be fixed before it goes on air around the world too bad I don't get to see it here in the US. My next project is a top ten list...I'm working on Top 10 Celebs Go Green and Top 10 Up and Comers. Neither of those were my ideas haha I guess my boss didn't really like Top 10 Hollywood Babies or Top 10 Best Dressed Divas. Anyway, that's my cube, which I don't spend most of my time in because my department is on the floor below and I use the Avid stations most of the time while I'm there.

    DSC00976

KTLA hasn't been as fun, not gonna lie. So far I've still been logging shows. The other day I almost hurled after watching 4 episodes of Veronica Mars in a row. Other times I help her with interviews of not-so-famous people, like this one time where we interviewed the cast of this new show called Life Is Wild, coming to the CW in the Fall about an American family moving to South Africa. I guess they're trying to do another OTH./the OC sorta thing but set and shot in South Africa hahaha I feel like this show will flop just like Hidden Palms did. Anyway, one of the castmembers used to be in S Club 8. Yes, 8, it wasn't a typo. I have never heard of it before either but apparently it's a spin-off of S Club 7. Yea, like I said, not so famous people who think they're famous. Ugh.

So I still don't have internet. Or tv. I'm not gonna pay for that because my roommates haven't moved in yet. So right now I'm at starbucks enjoying a green tea lemonade while using the internet. I'm still trying to get a car. OMGGG over the weekend I was over at Hollywood with a friend when I saw this car and fell absolutely in love with it....
    2006-bmw-z4-roadster

The 2007 Z4 M Roadster is hotttttttttttt. That's my dream car. In Alpine White, please. WIth GPS ahhaha. cos I get lost.

    0014

The 2007 M6 Coupe is also very very sexy. It's more expensive than the Z4 Roadster too. If only I had the money. I built my own Z4 M Roadster on the BMW website and it came up to be $58,000 ahhaha if only I had that kind of money. That's almost twice the tuition of USC's one-year tuition.

My laptop is running low on battery. k bye.

  • i hate packing.

    DSC00956

This will be the second to last time I will ever have to move until I graduate, hopefully. I'm moving to my friend's place for two weeks before I get to move into my new apartment. Moving is such a bitch.

This morning I went to do a shoot with my producer and Jason C. of the ktla source blog up in the Hollywood Hills.
    DSC00952

This is honestly the closest I've ever been to the Hollywood sign. The park was nice...people brought their dogs out to run around while we were filming recaps. It was hmm kinda lame. I don't really like my channel 5 job for ktla.com, I wish I could've done the CNN job instead.

    DSC00949

But my mom always says, beggars no choosers, so you gotta be happy for what you have already. I've been logging/watching Smallville, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls etc...since I got there. In all honesty I don't see what I've learned but the fact that every series has a love triangle, a huge fight and dramatic/cheesy dialogues. But that's what makes them good, I guess.

I like E! more. I get to see joel mchale :) and I get movie ticket discounts.

My summer has been pretty mundane so far. I work every day then I come home, cook some food, watch tv and sleep at around 11 cos I'm dead tired by then. Or I might hangout with roomies and drink a few beers/glasses of wine and then watch more tv or complain about our lives.

    DSC00950

Or sometimes I might go to starbucks and order a venti latte/mocchiato and sit in the sun with a book. The weather has been absolutely amazing in the last week and I'm jealous of the people who can go to the beach anytime they want because they have cars. I'm still looking for a good Honda Civic.

The Year of Magical Thinking is an amazing book by Joan Didion--it's sort of a memoir written year after her husband died on new year's eve of a heart attack and her daughter slipping into a coma only days later. Depressing? Yes. But it's not self-pitiful like Anderson Cooper's memoir is. It's really well written and you can really empathize with her situation.

I'm really not a boring person. I promise. So hangout with me. Thanks.

  • and so my 6-day week begins today.

    DSC00944

I guess today would be my third day at E! and I'm still going through training. Yes. Building orientation, Daisy (some database they use to keep ALL tapes on file) training and etc. My supervisor thought it'd be nice to take the whole department (a grand total of 7 people?) out for a 5-course lunch at the Grove but I couldn't go because of orientation sad.  Instead I had spinach pizza with all the other interns while waiting for our training session to begin.

Day one at E! I sat there and watched a bunch of tapes to get to know what they do at International Interstitials. The second day I spent the whole day on Daisy looking for red carpet footage of Angelina Jolie (who is amazing/gorgeous, by the way) and Cameron Diaz. Oh, my cube (ew) is also on the floor above my department so needless to say, I feel quite isolated. What did I learn? Angelina Jolie has changed a lot in some ways, but in others she hasn't--she started talking about adopting babies very early on and being more aware with what's going on around us.

By the way, the mug in that picture? That's my second one because someone stole my first one :(

Today was my third day. Spent half the day at orientation and actually learned quite a few interesting facts. Have you ever wondered who gets to decide who gets on the 101 Sexiest Bodies in Hollywood list, or the 101 Biggest Hollywood Scandals, or the 101 Biggest Fashion Disasters etc. etc. (ok maybe you haven't but I have because I'm strange like that and I watch too much cable tv)? Even though there IS some creativity involved, a lot of the times it actually depends on what kind of footage E! is allowed to use. Obviously, a lot of celebs don't want to be on the 101 Most Embarrassing Hollywood Moments list, so they restrict the use of some of their footage.

Moving on. So I spent the rest of the day helping Micki (whose brother, by the way, was in my class...what a small world...), a PA, cut an E! News Interstitial on Avid. Then, when my Angelina Jolie tapes arrived, I spent another 2 hours digitizing them onto Avid. I guess it's fun because I get to use Avid. But not fun when you have to re-watch Angelina Jolie do the same thing for 31 tapes.

Oh my god. The most unimaginable thing happened to me today. I got a call from CNN Los Angeles Bureau asking me if I were still free for the summer, because if I were, they'd schedule an interview for me for an internship position at Showbiz Tonight or the Entertainment News section (yes. more entertainment. I wish people could take me more seriously and put me into real news.) But I can't. I'm committed to KTLA and E! already and I can't just bail out on one of them and upset some people who will be determining my future. Although if CNN called me way early on I wouldn't have taken E!. It's CNNNNNNNN OMGGGG. Life is so unfair.

So I was taking the ghetto bus this morning, listening to KIIS FM and of course, Ryan Seacrest was hosting a show and he was SINGING on air. It hurt my ears. I wanted to kill myself...it was too early in the morning. Why the eff is he everywhere?? He's on every billboard, every tv screen, radio and now the same company I work for..if I ever see him in the corridor of E! I think I might a) find out whether he's really gay or not or b) attack him for singing at 8am in my ear.

And by the way, nobody but the paps cares about Paris Hilton going to jail, ok? Even ABC7 didn't lead with that story tonight at 11pm and KNBC put it towards the end of the B-Block. Pictures of Paris in jail=half a million dollars? Are you effing kidding me? What has LA become??

p.s. i think her booking picture is hilarious. one minute she's posing for the paps @ the MMAs and the next, she's posing for the police. awesomeeee welcome to LA.

What's worse is that E! is considering doing a reality show on Dina Lohan.

    Why? Just, why?

About Me

I go to college in LA, but I grew up in hong kong :) I love music, can't live without it--love going to shows when I have the money. I want to work in the media after I graduate . I'm a journalist because I love listening to stories; I'm a really good listener. I love the beach, the sun, vanity fair, caramel mocchiatos, diet coke, gin&tonics, sauvignon blanc, food, pretty things, tv, photography and more. Leave me a comment--I love reading what other people have to say about my thoughts. This blog's only theme is me.
