| | So today was the Florida Southern Classic Swim meet at none other than, you guessed it Florida Southern College. Well the pool there was a lot like Calvin's in that it is really hard to get out of the pool and it was really really funny to watch some of these people try to get out of the pool. Well while I was there one of the swimmers came up and started talking to me. I told her that I was working on my tan, because I obviously need one! Another girl came up from a different team that is friends with the girl I was talking to. She sat down and the three us started to compare our leg tans. Now I had on my sun glasses so I couldn't see that great. So I said to this new girl from a different team I said "Man you are like Mexican or somethin!" (saying it as a compliment for being so tan) She then said "No I am cuban" (in a real sooty voice) I was so embrassed. She hated me she then proceeded to ask "What grade are you in?" I said "Well I graduated I am college." She was ah (all very sooty) and then walked away. I felt so bad because I really didn't mean it to come out offensive or anything I was just trying to pay a compliment. Maybe next time I will take off my sun glasses before I say any comments about people's skin tone. Ah sometimes I really put my foot in my mouth. |
