| Way to longI have been doing my best to red all the blogs of the people that I subscribe to. It seems that some are making their posts longer and longer. I am really sorry, but I can't read them all the way through. They are just to long. Why take a single entry and turn it into a novel. I think that the people that write them are very smart and they make some valid points. I just can't get to the end of some of the posts. I have other things that I have to do during a day. Some say that taking a single point and turning it into a 10 paragraph post is a skill. They say that the person is an artist and the fact that they can do that is wonderful. Unfortunately I have gotten lost in some those posts. I have had to go back and rescan them just to make sure that I got the point. I believe that a good post keeps the reader on track. It should be long enough to get the idea across and short enough to get through and still understand what the point was. Teachers in school said that I had to add more words to my reports. They were already the required ten pages. Is the human race obsessed with long-windedness? People that say more than is needed are looked down on. People that write more than is needed are cheered on. It makes no sense to me. I can see the point if it were a story with a plot and characters. I can see where some would be English teacher might come along and correct my post to show that I am guilty of the thing I have talked about here. That's called side tracking and it is meant to pull attention away from the validity of the subject.(One paragraph)
I enjoy the points of view and information that people have to offer. I want to read what others have to say.(Closing statement)

| what is more important?I and a friend was visiting some friends and the friend that
was there with me brought beer. The people that lived there said that the land
lord said that they could not have alcohol in the place. They said that all
three of the woman that lived there was pregnant and didn't want to be around
alcohol for fear of it harming the unborn. The person that brought the beer
took it and left. As soon as the beer was gone all three pregnant woman lit up
and started smoking. I asked why it was that they could not be in the same
place as alcohol for fear of it harming their unborn children but they felt it
was alright to smoke. One of them launched rather aggressively into speech
about not wanting to hear a sermon about the dangers of smoking while pregnant
that went on for several minutes.
First thing that comes to mind is that the land lord can't tell someone that
they can't have alcohol in their own place.
Second thing is that just being in the same room as alcohol will not hurt an
unborn child.
Third is the fact that I just asked a single question and offered no sermon.
Fourth if they know that smoking is bad for the child that they carry why would
they do it? (Isn't that the same affect as blowing smoke onto the face of an
infant?)
I have heard woman say that the stress of not smoking could harm the unborn. I
asked 15 doctors and they all said that they had never hear of such a thing.
So that leaves one possibility. To the mother of the child it more important to
smoke than it is to have a healthy child.
If there is another viable reason to smoke when pregnant could someone please
tell me what it is? | | |
| Friendship?I have been wondering something.
Why is it that the only time people hang out anymore is when someone wants something?
It seems that if people just want to go for a walk or something, no one has the time. When some body wants to spend money or do something for someone, that someone is most usually ready to go.
The other day someone wanted me to reformat a PC and hang out. When I called they said that the PC was getting done in the shop and that they were not feeling well. Other times before that they said that they had a lot to do for their big move.
Long before they were going to move they had "reasons" not to hang out. They would say that they were to busy. There were days that they had only one or 2 things to do. We could have gotten together after that but they said that were were to tired from all the walking. I'm in far worse shape than they are, and older to, and I walk all over the place. I have never been to tired to visit with them. How does walking 2 or 3 places and then going home make someone to tired to meet at a coffee shop that is only 2 blocks from their place? They have not been the worlds busiest person every time that they have been asked to go out and yet they came up with something.
I once said that if I didn't call them they would not call me. Turns out that only time that they called me, after a very long period of time, was when they wanted something.
Ouch!!
I have been a good friend. Other than their room mate let them find a friend that is willing to go as far as I have for them.
When they went on a trip and came back on the bus, I met them at the bus stop with refreshments. I carried their duffel bag over 2 miles in the hot sun while they ate and drank the things that I brought them. We stopped at my house and rested before they went on to their place.
I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I am their friend but they are not mine. If they were then they would make some effort to be that. They do not. I was really hoping that would change but it just isn't going to. The kicker is that if I never called them or saw them again, I don't believe that it would bother them at all.
I hope that their mind changes about that.

| Asteroid Planet Reeking havoc on Earth?I have recently been informed by a very stressed and concerned someone that in the year 2012 one third of the Earths population will be wiped out. It is supposed to happen when an asteroid called Hiriru Passes close to the Earth and collides with the Moon and sends the moon crashing into the Earth. They cited such proof of this as the fact that the Myan calendar ends in 2012. They also said that it was sure to happen because Nostradamus wrote about seeing it happen.
I have done my research. I felt compelled to find out where this story came from. It seems that a preacher has interpreted the event of the asteroid as part of the biblical rapture.

I went immediately to nasa.org and searched the site for mention of Hiriru and found nothing. It seems that this name is only used in relation to Nostradamus.
I did find however, an asteroid that NASA knows about that has a 1 in 300 chance of colliding with the Earth. They have designated this asteroid 1950DA. It is indeed a global killer for sure. However it stands a really good chance of missing the Earth entirely. It also isn't going to pass by the Earth until the year 2880. I think that 872 years is enough time to get ready for it to happen. I am also of the opinion that anyone that reads this won't have a thing to worry about.

| Why have a religion at all?From the beginning of time humans have struggled to find something bigger than themselves to believe in. It is amazing that there are so many new religions popping up and fading out. All that the world has achieved is because humans did it with there own two hands. The forces of nature have made some changes. Some of those changes have threatened, injured and even killed some people. The human race has overcome them all. We are almost as though as cockroaches it seems. So baring in mind all that the hands of human beings have done, Why do we have to turn to any deity at all? I'm not saying that there is no god or that all the religions of the world are wrong.
Let me restate that.
I'm not saying that there is no god or that all the religions of the world are wrong.
So I don't want anyone attacking me for saying that their religion is a lie.
It just seems that there are people that are casting spells and praying and absolutely nothing has come of it and yet they persist. I spoke to a friend of mine that has actually said that they are aware that their religion was created as a business and that none of the spells work and that its all just a means for someone to make money. They have also said that they still believe in it. We have discussed this face to face and I and this person have decided we just except each other they way we are.
I am still confused as to why people know that something does no real good yet we waste our time on it. For instance, I challenge anyone to say a prayer for me or cast a spell on me and tell me what it is supposed to accomplish. If it comes to pass just exactly the way it is described to me then I will change over to that religion if my judgment tells me that is what I should do.
It has been made clear to me that some people just aren't strong enough to stand on their own. They need a crutch of some kind. That was explained to me by the same person that knows and acknowledges that they are following a man made religion that was created only 60years ago or so.
