  • Sleep? SOOOO last season.

ah! i'm exhausted, but happy. so here's the deal, i have a few prayer requests, which will be somewhere below.

First, tonight is Relay For Life, an all night walk for cancer. We get on the track at 7:00 tonight, and leave 6:00 tomorrow morning. Woo! Now for the prayer request part, my friends and I found out last Wednesday that our friend Abby, who had a cancerous brain tumor last year, has cancerous spots in her brain again. They started kimo on Friday. She's clearly very angry, because we all thought the whole thing was over, so please, pray for comfort, strength, heeling, and of course, for her doctors.

Then, tomorrow from 11:00-4:00, I have Art For Earth, which is a sale of art made from recycled items. For this, pray we can stay awake... and not die in a car crash on the way there haha... we'll be rocking 3 hours of sleep, so... ya.

THEN, tomorrow from 6:00-10:30 I'm hopping on a school bus with 95 5th and 6th grade students to chaperone a trip to Grand Slam USA.... I think you'll understand why we need prayer for this. We lost 2 kids last year, someone always gets hurt in the bumper cars, etc. I would really appreciate it if you would pray in general for the 5th and 6th graders, especially for the girls, who are facing so many pressures in the world to be "pretty", "popular", or "cool"... basically, they're growing up too fast. Pray that the other youth group leaders will be able to display God's love in a way that the kids can't help but notice, and that they will decide to model their lives after Christ.

    Camp in like.... 4 weeks!

I'd never want to see you unhappy, I thought you'd want the same for me.

Okay, I'm going to summerize all the exciting things that have happened and any resent thoughts of mine as fast as I can. mkay?

    1. PROM! It was epic. The food was to die for. The music was sort of lame. Pictures are on facebook. I have nostalgia for last weekend.

    2. EXPODITING! It's a fancy restaurant term. Basically, I'm to the point in my career that I can wait tables but receive no tips. Simply put, I do everything the "real" waiters/waitresses are too busy to do. (bring food out, refill glasses). I'll be waitressing for real before I know it!

    3. Post-Prom break-ups. Prom is cursed. About 5 "power couples" at my school broke up, drama, tears, bitterness, and awkward attempts to "stay friends" are abundant.

    4. My chemistry teacher is epic. He gets me through the school weeks - funny teachers are amazing.

    5. I'm the producer for this year's French 3 Movie - Hansel and Gretel: Star Wars Edition. I know, my creativity is really outdoing itself.

    6. I've figured out that I'm an "April". The girl who is always best friends with the guy she should end up with - but he never realizes it, or even thinks about it. The Pros: He will realize it. When a movie gets made about my life, everyone will root for me. He honestly values my friendship. The Cons: He isn't due to realize it for 15 years, and when he does it will be at an incredibly inconvenient time for me (if the April theory carries out, I'll be engaged to someone else). I have to watch him date other girls, who generally aren't very nice to the best friend girl. Although he values my friendship, he won't always value my opinion. So there's that explanation. (not exactly in a nutshell... oh well, i'm baring my soul here haha).

    7. I had a dream about Selena last night. Alyssa and Tricia were in it too. Selena was happy. (she could talk, and told me so). And Tricia and Alyssa left me behind on a trail ride, and completely untacked the horse I was going to ride too (it was cloudy). And I vaguely remember racing a guy on a motorcycle on Zack. Tricia- maybe it's your soul mate! haha

    8. Petula Clark and cookie dough are deadly weapons, which I thoroughly enjoy.

I think.... yes, that's it. Goodnight!

One of the mosquitos tried to fly off with Travis... but I stopped him.

Tonight was our first honduras meeting! this is going to be such an amazing trip. we spent a good 20 minutes telling "bugs that were cast in Jurassic Park" stories. There was definately mention of a grasshopper the size of a beanie baby.... delicious.

Quiet now, your voice seems miles away, but somehow I hear your sorry sound a little bit softer each day. from my tired heart, a little bit farther away. I'll sing along the whole day through. Just do your best, your hear me? That's all you can do. You have my attention. Like you've had all the while. From the first day when you made my heart smile, with loving eyes and tired sighs - it all. You have my attention.

Prom is in 6 days! AH!

    Well I Don't Know If I'm Wrong

Well I don't know if I'm wrong, cause he's only just gone. Here's to another relationship bombed by his excellent breed of gamete disease. I'm sure when I'm older, I'll know what that means. I cried when I should and I laughed when I could, here's to the man with his face in the mud and an overcast play just taken away from the lover's in love at the center of stage. Loving is fine if you've got plenty of time for walking on stilts on the edge of your mind, and loving is good if your heart's hard as wood, and when he would he only half understood her. When makes him come? What makes him stay? What makes the animal run away? What makes him stall? What makes him stand? What shakes the elephant now? And what makes a man? I don't know... No, I don't know you anymore.

Don't you just love symbolism-laden music?

This morning had a very... unique start. For my new job, I had to get drug tested (because I'm clearly taking every psychedelic I can get my hands on). So, I woke up bright and early to drive out to Edina to get a drug test that was really quite unnecessary, but whatever.

This evening was much better. Thursdays are girls nights, so Jessie, Elli, and I bonded over The Office, hot tea, Jessie's attempt at Baklova, and chemistry homework. Those girls are such a blessing. Without them, I don't know where or who I'd be. Tomorrow Jessie and I are going with our 6th graders to Water Park of America for a Crossroads Youth Group trip... it will be so much fun! Plus, the church covers our admission, so we're going for free! It will be very exciting.

Oh! I really want that shirt from camp that was navy blue with white writing that says "CAMP" on the front... is anyone going to be up there anytime soon? If you are, I'd like to send you some cash for the shirt and for shipping... I'll be your best friend. Cookies could be in the works....

  • Melt Like Wax

I tried to get your attention. I’ve been sitting here watching from the corner of my eye. You just might be letting on by what you do. You’re making my heart melt like wax for you. You are worth the wait, every single day.

My youngest sister, Anika, was running around barefoot today... she got impaled by a toothpick. My dad took her to the emergency room, where they found out it was lodged 2-3cm into her heel. It was an... exciting evening for my father.

It was warm today! I about died from sheer bliss. It was torture being locked in school today. Although, at least one good thing happened at school today. Mrs. Gilbertson, the choir director, revealed where the choir trip will be next year... England and Scotland! ah! I'm so excited. I'm definately going to see the Loch Ness Monster. Oh, another good school thing: we finally figured out prom plans. There has been so much stress lately, I'm glad that it's finally (almost) done. The night will totally be worth it, but the nights leading up to it are not so great.

    Good night, fellow xanga-ers.
