Maybe because the author had a gift of tugging at my heartstrings in all the right places. This would be classified as a romance novel because of its main theme but I got more than romance from this book. I learnt so much about human beings and to a certain extent the female protagonist experienced a bunch of internal conflicts that are so close to home. The ending was fairly predictable but this is really a book of savouring the journey, rather than the destination. I really enjoyed this book and it's not often that I can finish a 474-page book in less than a day. I didn't want to do anything till I read till the end. It's so seldom I find a good read these days, without vulgarity and with only the purest form of language expressed with such tenderness.

Tuesday, August 09, 2005

Moving

After much deliberation, I've finally decided to shift camps. From now onwards, I'll be blogging here. Lord, please close one specific door so I know for sure that that isn't the path You want me to take.

Monday, August 01, 2005

A Quiet One

This has got to be the quietest holiday I've had in a long time. For the first time, I actually found myself complaining that I am feeling bored! First, I was down with a bad case of flu, sore throat and fever which lasted for almost all of 2 weeks. Gila! Then just when I was happily going about drinking to my health (by drinking, of course I meant having lotsa cold drinks which I was banned from having prior to this...haha), my left foot sprained itself. It must've been that 5-hour shopping trip I made last week to find my mum a very belated present, plus all that gung-ho driving around the church van.

Terry, you better sit for that test real soon and take over man. I think my age *gasp* is catching up with me. Nolarr...I shall just have to get fitter after my foot heals so that this wouldn't reoccur in the future. I woudn't want to put myself through that traditional Chinese massage I had to endure this morning. All I could do was scream silently. If I weren't a Christian, I could've bet that I would slaughter that sifu right there and then. This has got to be the most painful experience I've ever had (yet).

And so, here I am, confined to the four yellow walls of my bedroom again. I'm into my 3rd novel already this week. I can't believe how hardworking I am becoming. Haha. It's so quiet that the only sound I hear is the tapping of my keyboard as I type and I'm as desperate as can be to make some noise in this house!

Thanks to all who well-wished me and prayed for me to get better. Thank God the annoying phlegm is out of my beloved system for good! Whoopee! =)

Thursday, July 21, 2005

Still pretty sick...

Bleargh. I've blown my nose 1000 times. Used up enough tissue to become a threat to the ecosystem. My head feels like it doesn't belong to me anymore.Grrr....

Prayers please...

Monday, July 18, 2005

I fell sick

Taking care of kids is no easy job. Or rather, I need lots of help, next time. Yeah, we missed you, Papa Happle.

Anyways, time for photos while my body recuperates itself (courtesy of Angel & Esther).

Speaking of MULTIPLICATION, here's evidence:

First, there were 2.

Then it became 4.

4 wasn't enough. 4 soon became 7.

7 then grew to 11.

Today it is approximately 14++ (excluding Terry, Julie Deb, Juliana, Edson, Melvin, Spencer, Nishaan, Celeste, Evelyn, Ivy)

Thank You God, for Your ever-flowing grace in this CG. Only You have brought it to where it is today.

Happles,

I am so proud of each and everyone of you who tried so hard to make it for this camp. I'm sure you won't regret it. Keep on asking for more because God isn't going to give you any less!

Love you, guys!

Ok, back to nursing my sore throat, running nose and burning head.

Friday, July 15, 2005

Nothing smells as great as...

FREEDOM

Do you smell what I smell? Ahh...it's the holiday season I smell. And it sure smells WONDERFUL!

I had a really rushed summer and finishing it off with one horrid horrid paper yesterday just gave the edge to the start of a wonderful 4 weeks of bliss. I shall even forget that I took such a depressing paper. I even had time to count if I had enough marks to pass. It's at times like these where I thank God that my final grade isn't all dependent on a written exam or else history would repeat itself...not a very desired thing at this point in my life. Anyway, Substance Abuse? What's that? *grin*

I don't mean to be rubbing it in on those who are nonholiday-ers (at this moment). After all, we all have our turn. And now, it's mine. =) Somehow, everything just looks and tastes different after exams. I even walked differently. It felt as if I had a spring in each step I took, sashaying down the KL streets.

I really couldn't be more grateful for the company of two of my friends, whom I shall call B and C. One is a long-time friend and the other, a relatively new acquaintance. But I have to say that this unique blend produced excellent company for the night. I really enjoyed myself, the two of you. I can't recall ever celebrating an after-exams in such fashion and on a "grand scale" in my world. Hehe....Thank you for everything. Definitely a page to go down in history. I am really a blessed blessed girl! =)

I'm off to pack my bags for the college camp. Mike Constantine, such a man after God's heart. Sigh...a rarity these days. *chuckles*

See you in a couple of days, peeps!

Christophe, I promise you the rendezvous will be planned!

Henry, hmm...you better pray hard I don't come back from camp to rub it in on how much you missed out on...hehe.

Secret blogreaders, HELLO to you too! =)
