We have a new great nephew! + update

My mom (Nora Lee Ingle) called and said my brother Ned is a grandpa again!! His son Jarrod and wife Sharon became parents this evening - April 24 - to a baby boy named Derek Michael Ingle. He weighed 8# 11oz. and was 20 inches long. He has dark curly hair like his grandpa Ned! Jarrod, Sharon and Sofia were back at Thanksgiving (they live in California). It was so good to see them and we send them our congratulations and look forward to pictures. This makes my mom's 17th great grandchild!! The most recent ones born within the past year are: Ben and Emily--a baby girl, Paige, born in February; Matt and Kelly--a baby girl, Alexandria, born Nov. 7; Marc and Ginger--a baby boy, "Shea", born Sept 23. Praise the Lord for each and every one! Grandpa Vern loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren VERY MUCH!!

An update on Bruce: he is SLOWLY improving....tires very easily, still sore on his right side, etc. He hasn't gotten test results yet. Thank you for all of your prayers and concern.

This time of year I am reminded of my dad and his mushroom adventures. He loved to go and he loved to share. He was known around Pleasantville as THEE mushroom hunter. When we were going through his things, we found 3 or 4 little books with the mushroom spots written down! We thought about auctioning them off.....but, they will remain memories for the family. Which reminds me, Dave---do you have all 4 of those?? One time Dad's feet got so sore from all of the walking he did, mom got a picture of him soaking one foot in a 5 gallon bucket of water, surrounded by his treasure of mushrooms all around the bucket!!

Unusual Birthday Present!

Well, Bruce got an early birthday present today---he had 4 stones removed from his right kidney! On March 26 I took him to the ER at 5 a.m. with severe pain. His Dr. blasted the 6mm stone (and also blasted us & the insurance company with a $10,000 bill!!) and sent him home. Four days later after teaching one of the adult classes and doing the Lord's Table talk, we were back to the ER where they kept him overnight and put in a stent the next day (the large stone only went down to 5mm). He has been in continual pain and discomfort since that time and has had lots of nausea from the stent. We went back today for a 3rd surgery. (Before surgery he was asking me when I thought he could have a steak!) Bruce's mom and sister were there with me during the surgery. His mom stayed until we left to go home. It was so nice of her to come and be with us! We had some good visits. This surgery lasted about an hour---the urologist removed the large stone plus 3 more inside the kidney and inserted another stent. He came home much more uncomfortable than he did the past 2 times from the hospital----told me to be sure to avoid all of the potholes on the way home!  Hopefully with some rest and meds, tomorrow will be a much better day for him. HAPPY 61st BIRTHDAY BRUCE! Hopefully you'll feel like eating a steak sometime this weekend.   ILYMTTYBNAMAT! (I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow!)

Post from Ginger

Mom and Dad haven't had much time to post on xanga. So Maddy and I decided we would put a thank you on to Grandpa for him coming out and shooting bow and arrow.

Mom entertained Grandma Ingle today at the Red Hat ladies luncheon. She (Mom) is still having a hard time dealing with the loss of Grandpa Vern. I know she could use your encouragement. Thanks to everyone who has sent cards and said prayers.

Come see me!

"Papa Bruce, can you come see me?" was Blake's question Friday night. Talk about melting our heart!! (we're think his dad and Uncle Tim helped with this).  And G'ma hasn't dealt very well this week with my Dad's death.   So, we're sure that seeing how much Alexa has changed and getting to play with Blake will help put smiles on our faces. This afternoon 3 yr old Grace was on the phone and said, "Oh, Grandma, I'm just GREAT--are you great, too, grandma?" Tim, Jami, Grace and Emily are also going to St. Louis. The plan is to leave Saturday AM before 8 and come back Monday AM. I'm sure we'll have lots of stories to fill you in on -- going down, while there, and coming back!! The recent posts of Alexa were awesome.....I can't wait to see her! I wish Ginger, Marc and kids could come along also. (We'll take lots of pics -- promise). Maybe when I get back I can post some memories of my dad.
