The movie reminded me the guilt feeling I had every time I ate full and how much tears I shed when I was going through the book. It took me quite some time to finish the book as the continuous suffering and prolonged starvation of the kids always put me into the stuggle of whether to go blind to the agony or keep having hope in the twists and turns of fate.
"Jesus and the Weather" of McCourt reminded me Hotel Rwanda, a movie I saw last weekend, which kept me hearing my heart beat all night. The scene was stunning. The thing that strikes me most is that it is a true story. Real brutality of humankind. Atrocity in front of your own eyes.
God has become a complicated subject as people get older and see more. Is the pure faith like the children's be the only cure for these heartache?
