Wow- it's December already?

Things I've done since I last wrote:

~ finished the NYC Marathon on November 6th

~ been with Jason for 29 months =)

~ taken too many college exams

~ became treasurer of the Spanish club (Aficionados de Espanol) at Cornell

~ been to some frat parties with friends (no, I didn't do anything dumb/crazy)

~ gotten addicted to Facebook and unofficially abandoned Xanga

hmmm I think that's it.

Reading all this terrible news every day reminds me a lot of what we went through on 9/11 our 3rd day of freshman year...it's hard to stop thinking about it.

4 days of backpacking in the woods near the Finger Lakes

6 days of Orientation

classes start on the 25th, I think.

I can't wait to meet my roommate and move into my townhouse =) I'll miss you guys!

Happy 18th birthday to me =)

(it was on July 31, same bday as Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling)

Thank you guys so much for the bday IM messages, Facebook posts, Facebook messages, cards, and for the 2 random Cornell freshmen who messaged me just to say Happy Bday lol. I don't know them, but the Cornell Class of 2009 website has a birthday box on the homepage listing that day's birthdays and my name was on top of the list lol.

Thanks to Kseniya, Stasy and Susan keeping me company on Sunday, helping me buy my first scratch-off lotto ticket thingy (even though I didn't win anything), eating Thai food with me, laughing at my pyrophobia, helping me taste-test my tub of marshmallow creme, and eating my birthday ice cream cake before it melted =)

Many thanks to Jason and his mom, who took me to a Zagat top-rated French restaurant named JoJo on Saturday. The food was outstanding...I had the Peekytoe Crabmeat dish (that's its real name, I kid you not) with crackers, Chicken with chopped olives, and 3 flavors of sorbet. It was all delicious. Jason also gave me a superb birthday present: a jar of 999 origami cranes that he folded (when I want to make a wish, I fold the 1000th crane and drop it into the jar) and the Incredibles on DVD.

You guys rock my world. I'll post pictures soon.

Yay I become legal (and can open a fricking checking account) in less than a week!

~What I've been up to these past two weeks: Nike Run Hit Wonder, NY Philharmonic in Central Park, working at NY Road Runners, Portofino's free birthday entree, Jamba Juice multiple times, running into random Stuy people, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (five stars out of five), Harry Potter Midnight Magic Party with Suzanne, reading Harry Potter in 3 days (4.5 stars out of 5)...I want the 7th one to come out already!! Wow we're gonna be 20 when it comes out...but I'll still love it.

A belated entry but...

Congratulations Class of 2005!! *tosses cap into the air*

Wow, Carlos and Juancarlos did a great job on the Indicator 2005 DVD...I got a little teary-eyed as I listened to the songs, such as Boyz II Men's "It's so hard to say goodbye...", Green Day's "Time of Your Life," and Eve 6's "Here's to the Night." I'm definitely packing this with my yearbook to bring to college.

I'll miss all of you...let's be FaceBook friends =)

I've been pretty lazy about updating, even though June has been absolutely amazing so far... Prom was on June 11th at the Waldorf=Astoria (=,not -, strange). It actually exceeded my expectations...I was afraid I would be disappointed but I was pleasantly surprised. I danced, ate ice cream, took 70 pictures, and basked in the beauty of everyone around me lol. Jason got me a lovely corsage with golden roses on it that matched my champagne-colored dress. Susan helped me pick out my Steve Madden prom shoes that coordinated with my dress and they turned out to be pretty comfortable I'll definitely be wearing them again.

The food was pretty good, and I finished everything on my plate cuz I was so hungry lol. The music selection was also surprisingly good. Some of my favorites: Sinatra songs, Here's to the Night (Eve 6), All My Life (K-Ci and JoJo), Cotton-Eyed Joe, Cha-Cha Slide. Prom definitely ranks right up there among some of the best days of my life so far. Everyone was gorgeous! Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the talking:

So lots of stuff this week:

Thursday was Senior Crushlist day- every school should have this, it's so fun. About 350 people put up a list, and then a database is created on www.stuycom.net so you can see who crushed on who, how many times each person was crushed on, etc.

Friday: Indicator Copy staff party after school- I made angel food cake cupcakes for my staff cuz I love them so much lol. It was good fun- we successfully hid from the administration for 30 minutes during the rapid dismissal, and Snigdha brought good homemade flan. Afterwards, I went to dinner at a Japanese fusion restaurant with Jason, his mom, and a colleague. Yummy.

Saturday: I went for run, then stayed home mostly. it was great.

Sunday: I went to El Museo del Barrio with Susan for a Spanish project (at Fifth Ave and 104th street). It's a really small museum, but they have a cool gift shop where Susan and I bought chanchitos =) lucky piggies! We spent about 2 hours there, then I went to Super Runners Shop where they were having a sale, and I bought a New Balance sports bra and really nice blue shorts for only $25 total. I love sales- they make me happy

Then, we had a quick lunch by ordering a Meatball Marinara to go, and took the train to Queens Center in an attempt to look for prom stuff. Susan bought earrings and makeup for prom, and I bought shoes!! They're champagne-colored Steve Madden sandals with kitten heels that perfectly match my dress. I'm really happy with them- and they look great with jeans so I'll definitely be wearing them after prom is over. So glad I got my dress last week- that was my biggest worry cuz I'm so picky. Later we met up with Gary, Eddie, Kenneth and Ruth, and Eddie drove me to the train station...got home at 9:30 pm.
