Thanks again so much for the prayers.  I’ve had a lot of time the past few days to spend in prayer and spending time with my Jesus.  When I draw close to Him, I am reminded of all His promises.  I know His timing is perfect (not mine) and He is my Provider!   The time I’ve had just to meditate on His Word, talk to Him, and worship Him has been awesome.  I had a much better day yesterday and today.  Let’s see if I can recap my week.

Wednesday I was able to help out at the church, which I enjoy doing.  Yes, I’m weird.  I find joy in many monotonous tasks, such as alphabetizing anything, copying, stapling or in Wednesday’s case folding letters, stuffing envelopes, applying stamps and labels, and sealing the envelopes.  Fascinating, huh?  Well, I had fun.     I wrote my post Wednesday before prayer meeting.  We had a special prayer time for our Believer’s Conference which begins Sunday.  If you don’t hear much out of me over the next week, that is why.  We are going to be doing DRIVING FORCE by Saddleback’s Craig Jutila with the kids.  It will be fun!

Thursday I got to talk to my Momma and my bestest friend April.  Andrew had his meeting and it went well.  I started on some VBS stuff.  I can’t wait!!!  We are doing Serengeti Trek this year.  My mind is already reeling…

Wednesday my pastor’s wife, Stella, asked me if I would like to go to Picasso To Go.  It’s a paint your own pottery place.  So today we went and I painted a picture frame and Stella painted a popcorn bowl.  They came out so cute!  I’m going to be so impatient waiting for them to be glazed and fired!!!  Stella is absolutely precious and it was so great just to visit with her.  Tonight I finished my notebook.  If you have been reading MrsCatherine’s site, you know what I’m talking about.  If you haven’t been to her site, you must check it out!  Great stuff!!!  Part of the reason I have not been around xanga much is that I am working on whipping our home into shape.  I’m looking forward to using my notebook to help me get into a daily routine and I know starting with a clean house, will help me from being overwhelmed!  Andrew offered to help me this weekend, so I will start using my notebook Sunday!  Yay!

Here’s my notebook.  I decided to call it my Home Blessing Book…

And I put Joshua 24:15b, just as a daily reminder

This is my daily schedule.  I’m going to laminate these front pages, so they will not wear out from daily use.

I made these Grocery Lists over a year ago to help make grocery shopping easier.  Once I have all the items I need to get divided up by category, it is easy to flip through my coupon box and make little notes on my list so I know what coupons I have, which has made shopping so much easier!  I made cute little menu pages at the same time.  What better place to put them, than in my handy dandy notebook?

I’m going to use the rest of the pocket dividers in the back of the binder to set up a bill organizer.  I’m in the process of typing a check list in Excel to keep up with due dates, date mailed, check numbers, etc.  I bought a bill organizer for $12 last year!  All the supplies to make my notebook cost less than that organizer did.  Crazy!!!

I hope that you have a super fun weekend!!!

Just a bit of fun...

I love your idea so much. I started making a plan for my own notebook right away.  This is really what I need to do to keep my head on straight and my husband off my back.  Thankyou so much for the idea.

Wow, what an awesome idea! I bet that notebook saves you a lot of time and a lot of stress. I have a similar notebook like that for school, organizing my classes/homework/exams/etc. It really helps! Now I need one for the home!:)

Ohhh Thank You!!  I will try and do that today.  You could try and cut and paste your word doc or excel sheet into Paint (Word) and play around with it from there.  Anything that you can cut and paste...will go in the Paint program...look under your accessories...you should have it in there.  I think that would be wonderful to share with others and give them different options.  You could make a batch up with the notebooks and everything and sell them......I really think you did an awesome job on that!  Something to think about!

Love and God's Blessings,

Cat

I caught up on reading some old post. I read about your husbands job/ research thing, and I also read about you are planning on getting a job as an aide, but I think I loved most about how at peace you are about the whole thing, and I think that is the best thing of all.  You don't seemed stressed about everything that is and going to happen. The only question I have is what surgery did you have? did I miss that in your entries.

I enjoyed this entry especially about the pottery and stuff. It is so cool that you can just hang out with your pastor's wife in such a casual way, and I also completely understand about tedious tasks. The organizational thing!! wow! I totally wish I could be that organized. I think I would to try, but I think it would be pointless because I am afraid it would fall a part and then I would get discouraged.

RYC: I liked what you wrote because spoke of personal story about how marriage can be hard for people, and people settle and they also jump into things with letting their emotions settle.

What a great organizational tool! I always try to start something like that, but I end up neglecting it eventually. I keep telling myself that I'm going to start a scrapbook for my daughter's first year...and well my homemade scrapbook still sits with empty pages. Now, if you do end up selling your idea...i just might be a consumer :goodjob:.  I have so many empty journals...and I keep telling myself that I'll write in them, but it never happens....I'm surprised that I haven't neglected this yet...maybe it's because I get feedback. :) I think being organized is a special gift becuase there are so few people who are. However, what you said about the monotonous tasks describes me as well. I too enjoy doing those things. So, your not the only weird one. :fun: I'm glad you had a fun weekend and may your week be a blessed one as well.
