 black knights of the ocean

chapter 1

and so it has come to past. another year another group of knights have completed their training on this most enchanted and mysterious place:

according to folklore, it has many names - some called it the old castle, some called it the new shaolin, some have even called it the perpetual camelot. but the strangest and most mentioned by the townsfolks is this: d'ocean on a hill.

an OCEAN ON A HILL?

but that is exactly what this is: a kingdom that embraces dicotomies. a place full of mystery and history. a place where the halls are filled with stories of bravery and valor; of heroes and legends - this is where young knights gain knowledge and wisdom; where young knights learn to wield their weapons; where young knights learn to advance and defend their beloved kingdom - a kingdom built upon the mighty cross and the castle forms the word - "LORD". This land is protected by a circular force - "d'ocean spirit" - an undefiled spirit burning within these knights. this spirit touches everyone; it goes on and on - from generation to generation - it crosses every boundary underneath the sun. the spirit is formed through the crucible of the valkeries; perfected through the anvil of the daily grind and refined by the fire of battle and wars.

upon entry to the castle - the first lesson instilled upon these these knights - yea, even when they were little squires , too small to fit into their armour, is this: the most cherished quality of the knight of d'cean is not how hard he fights. but how good he listens - not merely with his ears and, but more importantly, with his HEART. it is thru the mind's eye and thru their hearts that they will find their true calling.

these knights will learn about unity. a unity that will strengthen the spirit of the castle and illuminate the knight's path. they will learn about contests and battles and they will learn to fight with a unity of force unmatched by other tribes and kingdoms.

unlike the jedi knights who wear brown capes - "knights of the ocean" wear black armour to battle. and unlike the jedi knights, these knights are allowed to love - and wed. but that will come later. for some, much later ...

alas a quick glance reveals some names and some weapons they wield:

one wields a sword wrapped in leather - whose mighty roar reaches the heavens; one uses a fine hook and is swift on his feet; two knights mastered the ten chambers of knowledge; one roams underwater ...

who are they - these black knights of the ocean?

patience, my little apprentice. we shall open the scroll hidden in the "steps" of the castle. truth shall be revealed ...

listen, listen .... listen to the waves of the ocean ...

waves of the ocean....

produce wave action to the rocky shores

so organisms on it should adapt to prevent dislodgement.

Song of Camelot - Monty Python & the Holy Grail

We're Knights of the Round Table.
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.
We're Knights of the Round Table.
Our shows are formidable,
But many times we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable.
We're opera mad in Camelot.
We sing from the diaphragm a lot.

(silly perhaps... but oddly appropriate :).)
