| | I guess by now everyone has read AnAmericanSoldiers tribute to Pat Tillman. It is a very well wrote and deserving tribute. Rob you are a very good writer and friend. I wish that story you wrote got out to every newspaper and magazine so that the public could see what all of us here in Xanga get to read from you. Keep up the great work!
Now what brought that up was that you had some unfinished business on your tribute. Because it was a tribute you did the right thing by not attacking anyone........but I don't have too!
Simeon Rice, you are a punk! You are over-rated has been. How many tackles did you have last year? I guess your "not that good anyway" and maybe you didn't see Rambo enough.
Anyone that attacked Sgt Tillmans decision to enlist attacked every single Service member. I guess because we enlisted we could not play sports or saw too many Rambo movies also! Well I turned down a full ride soccer scholarship to enlist during a time of war. My country is and will always be my first choice.
This is a blanket statement to about 90% of all professional athletes. Why do you feel that you should make more than doctors and nurses, policemen and fireman, even Soldiers? Do you save lives or protect freedom? No, pure selfishness is all it is. Eli Manning you suck. Bitching about being drafted by the Charges becuase he would not get paid enough. You lucky you got drafted at all. To bad the Armed Forces no longer Draft. That is where you should have been drafted you primadona little geek. But then we don't really want someone like you anyway. Self importance makes for bad Soldiers. If not for the good of the team then what good are you anyway?
I would suggest that everyone boycott all major sporting events and humble the players back to reality. That there job is not that important except for entertainment only. That for their multi-million dollar contracts there are hundreds of upcoming kids that would be more than happy to play for even the league minimum (which is still more than the average soldier will make in 15 years). Unfortunately that would be unrealistic. People would still go to the games and the salaries would still get paid.
It reminds me of a few years back when the NBA players went on strike. Some "superstar" was on TV whining that he had to move in with his brother because he could not afford his house any more. Well shit head what happened to the 2.3 Million dollars you made last year? Fast cars, fast women and other elicit deals maybe? CRY BABY! Can't live off of 2 million a year? The American public should feel so disgusted and everyone should give you a hundred dollars for your inconvenience. We should never have let you suffer like that! What bad people we are!
Maybe we should go to a performance oriented pay system for major sports. You run a touchdown, hit a home run, nail a three pointer or score a goal +$100 dollars. You fumble, strike out, airball or get put in the penalty box -$50 dollars (except for fighting). Interception or diving catch +$25 dollars etc.. Then maybe the public might actually get some life out of the players.
Another subject about sporting events, stop using military analogies for every play. If you have never been in the trenches how can you refer to being in them!?
These are a few of "Those Little Things That Piss Me Off".
