When I was younger, I was always slightly afraid of monsters and boogeymen and vampires, and I was convinced that if none of my extremities were visible, I was safe. That was why I loved my footie pajamas. Despite the sweaty feet, it always felt so warm and comfortable and safe when I knew the danger of sticking out a naked foot in the night did not exist. But for double protection, I always made sure my comforter was tucked in around me tightly (hence the necessary literal "tuck-in" by my folks) and drawn right up to my neck. I've been kind of tempted lately to pick up a footie pajama made for grown-ups, but I'm afraid that would be asking quite a lot from Monkey...
I first did this sketch in pen and paper...I think I like this version better than the one I ended up with in Illustrator:

zonked, part II
I pulled an all-nighter the other night to get all the rest of my orders completed. It's a little nuts! It feels like cramming for finals in college...I feel a big relief coming soon, but I won't count too many chickies before they hatch. At any rate, I had a 3-hour nap around 8 yesterday morning, after Lizzie had come by to drop Brutus off (we get dogsitting duty for 3 days!! it's such a treat!). Monkey caught this pic of Casey and Brutus and me snoozing (you'll have to look closely for Brutus; he blends in with my sweater; hint: he's a little pug with big feet!). It was so cuddly cozy and warm! I am really sad that this routine is coming to and end after this week. I am going back from leave to the Corporate Giant next Wednesday. And, Monkey has to head back to traveling for work HQ next week. I suppose all good things come to and end, but it doesn't make me any happier for it. Boo.
Sorry! No need to end on a downer. I spied that Bekah also had poochie couch love up on her blog yesterday. Her post really says it all. So cute!
Speaking of poochies and love and the holidays...I got my order from BunniGoods last week while we were dogsitting Brutus, and part of the package was this bag of freshbaked doggie biscuits (the rest were gifties that I cannot reveal till after Christmas). Now, I've tried all the natural and better-for-your-dog biscuits (like Three Dog Bakery and Old Mother Hubbard), and Casey is one lover of food, but she has never liked those natural treats all that much. But! Both she and Brutus were in love with the goodies from Angela at BunniGoods. They turned around with much enthusiasm any time they heard the crinkle of the treat bag. And the cutest part? They both had the cutest peanut butter breath ever! Awwwwww!
Yeah, still a little stir crazy and amped up from all the marathon crafting, so apologies in advance for the big schpiel on pooches and stuff. Happy weekend! |
