Illustration Friday

This week's theme was 'Balance.' At first I doodled me balancing the various bits of life that make it hectic, busy, but I wasn't liking what I came up with...This is an illo I did last weekend for a mix CD I made (I modified a few elements to fit the theme this week), but I think it fits. Have you ever tried to just leap into a hammock? It totally takes a lot of balance and concentration to get in without turning yourself off the other side. And once you're in, you still need to find that place right in the middle, so you aren't displacing your weight all on one end or the other. I know, a lot of effort for some relaxation. But so well worth it once it all comes together!

You are so right about balancing on a hammock. It's a great illo. The colors are beautiful & sky patterns are beautiful!

What a beautiful illustration. I love the colors, and the birds are perfect. So peaceful...not only does it take balance to rest in a hammock, but it takes balance just to enjoy the serenity.

I was trying to think of a word that describes your illos, but I came up with two instead.....dreamy and enchanting! This one fits too perfectly with the theme. Now I want to forget about everyday chores and tasks and just hop into a hammock!! (With maybe a cranberry martini in hand!)
