More food pics from around China/Hong Kong:

Meat bun and tart plum punch in Wuhan.

Liangfen on the mountainside at Wudangshan.

Take-out from the Yantze cruise ship kitchen

Typical breakfast on the cruise ship.

Pieces of youtiao dipped in hot soy milk, a Kunming breakfast.

A midnight snack in Dali, potatoes on skewers, lightly dusted with chili powder and salt.

The same dish, the next day on an island in Erhai Lake, Dali.

Giant muscle stewed in its own shell with onion, pepper, spices and broth, on Erhai Lake.

I dare you to eat me!

Cheese-flavored... ice cream!

Somebody's idea of "apple pie", in Old Town Lijiang.

Breakfast in Lijiang, a steamer of xiao long bao for RMB 2.5 (about 30 cents).

Green tea, somewhere in Yunnan province.

Noodles cooking in Zhao Man's room, in Lijiang.

In northern Yunnan, we had a guide who would order food for us.  We had some... interesting dishes.  From left to right: sunflower seeds, fried black pepper shoots, wood ear mushroom with pork and mixed veggies, chicken thinly sliced and fried with peppermint and hot peppers.

Snow topped with dried/wet fruits and sweet sauces, with Michael in Kunming.

Guo Qiao (over-the-bridge) noodles, on the second night of the Torch Festival in Lijiang.  The broth comes out boiling, and you immediately dump in the thin slices of meat, veggies, a quail egg, and then the noodles.

Tofu "bundles" in beef soup, with noodles.  Hong Kong.

Egg tart.  Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

Japanese croquette curry, cole slaw and ginger ale, at the food court where Shirley, Julie and I ate in 2002, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Lactic Fanta and curry chips, watching the Olympics late into the night at the Cosmic Guesthouse, Mirador Mansions.

The result of "I'll have what he's having":  tender pork ribs with onion, red and green pepper, and greens, over rice.  Schweppes cream soda, much more subtle than A&W cream soda.  In a makeshift food court under a highway overpass, Hong Kong.

Ham and pineapple sandwich, an apple, chocolate Maria cookies, a Snickers, water, and a box of pineapple juice:  picnic lunch for a rainy hike across Lamma Island, south of Hong Kong.

This squid could be your dinner, at a seafood restaurant in Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island,Hong Kong.

Ten Hong Kong dollar wonton beef noodles; a warm, filling late-night dinner.
