Hey Nostradamus! : A Novel
By Douglas Coupland

Even though financial situations have been tough, this has been a time of inner renewal. I have some simply amazing people in my life (you know who you are!) who encourage me, stregnthen me, and take the sometimes very hard steps to get to know me (the real, beyond-rhetorical me). You lead me to a more honest, and mature, state of being. Things that some would wield as weapons of shame and condemnation become in your skilled hands tools of grace and unburdening. To all of you (upon reflection, some of you might not know who you are)...thank you. I am honored to know you.

On another note, I now have a Myspace page.  Do you?  Let's be friends.  Click here

Now this is a pretty random quiz. You answer a bunch of questions about animals, and it allegedly tells you the "keys to your heart." How do "they" come up with these quizzes, anyway?

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are flexible and ready for anything!

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is traditional. Without saying anything, both of you communicate with your hearts.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage pessimistically. You don't think happy marriages exist anymore.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.

Because "they" recognize that deep down, we're all into bestiality.

Ah, wait, that didn't come out right.

We don't fall in love with people as individuals, but rather what their lives and displayed values mean and signify to us.  Those that possess or display attributes that we personally find alluring or important are those toward whom we're more likely to be drawn.  Thus those attributes that we like most about certain animals (or at least our concepts of those animals) are probably the same ones that we might admire about other people.

At least, that's my best guess.
