Interests: Well, my first interest would be the Lord and His Word. Although I can't say that I am a perfect reflection of that interest. But my desire is to be completely hidden in Christ. I love to sing and am thankful that the Lord created music as a means to worship Him! I also play a mean harmonica...okay, not really but that would be sweet! :) I love little kids and motherly stuff like that..haha. OH! and I love the rain...ah, man..nothing more beautiful than seeing God's provision and faithfulness through rain.
Expertise: Oh geez, I honestly am not an expert at anything. I'm pretty absent minded, I've realized that more so as I've gotten older..it's kinda freaking me out.

This is a song that has truly blessed me and which perfectly shows us the beauty of the call of our Savior. I have been struggling with understanding the ministry of Christ and I still think I have much to learn but I think this shows us where the focus of our Savior was during His ministry - His battle cry was LOVE! We are to be putting on our armor to live a life of love as our Captain did. This is a complete shift of the Christian ideas of war and violence today, where we think our duty as a Christian is to go to war and to fight for our freedom. That America is the blessed nation of God when Scripture says that Israel is God's chosen people. As Scripture reminds us, our father Abraham was a sojourner, he knew his home wasn't Ur. He was looking for the better and heavenly city."But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them" (Heb. 11:16). The kingdoms of this world will fall - they are shakeable and we are not called to live our lives storing up treasures here on earth.  We have a kingdom which is unshakable and we have a higher calling, "Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire" (Heb. 12:28-29).  " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself' " (Matt. 22:37-39).

         O Church, Arise

O church, arise and put your armor on;
Hear the call of Christ our captain;
For now the weak can say that they are strong
In the strength that God has given.
With shield of faith and belt of truth
We’ll stand against the devil’s lies;
An army bold whose battle cry is “Love!”
Reaching out to those in darkness.

Our call to war, to love the captive soul,
But to rage against the captor;
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole
We will fight with faith and valor.
When faced with trials on ev’ry side,
We know the outcome is secure,
And Christ will have the prize for which He died—
An inheritance of nations.

Come, see the cross where love and mercy meet,
As the Son of God is stricken;
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet,
For the Conqueror has risen!
And as the stone is rolled away,
And Christ emerges from the grave,
This vict’ry march continues till the day
Ev’ry eye and heart shall see Him.

So Spirit, come, put strength in ev’ry stride,
Give grace for ev’ry hurdle,
That we may run with faith to win the prize
Of a servant good and faithful.
As saints of old still line the way,
Retelling triumphs of His grace,
We hear their calls and hunger for the day
When, with Christ, we stand in glory.

"Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep."
-Romans 12:15

Too often I think we feel that we need to be the tough one - the one who maintains their composure (no tears, no emotions), we decide that we need to be someone we're not when times of testing, sorrow, sickness and death enter our lives or some one else's. But I believe that it is clear throughout Scripture that when someone in the body of Christ is going through affliction we should be right there beside them, carrying their burden with them. When someone is in prison (these people were in prison for the sake of Christ) we are to "remember [them] as if [we are] their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if [we ourselves are] suffering." It's not something we do so that everything gets better. Scripture doesn't promise that for this life. It's the body of Christ working together - sharing burdens, weeping with one another, realizing that this world is full of disappointments, troubles and that people do die. This life is not easy, but this is not our home. We have the hope of a new home, a place where there is no weeping and tears are washed away by our Father.

"...they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them."
- Hebrews 11:16

"Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.  For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
- Revelation 7:16-17

I find these passages to be full of hope for me at this time in my life. Yes, I have been called to walk beside my brothers and sisters in Christ and weep as they weep but it doesn't end there. We have a home that we look forward to and await and where we will find rest and the presence of our Father.

Learning what it means to be a Christian. Struggling to be like Christ. Thinking too much...

Will my continual thoughts ever end? Things such as innerancy, Christianity, quiet times, memorization, Jesus. These are continual sources of joy, struggle, tears, fear, and hunger for more. I want to figure all of it out. And not just for me - but because the Lord has called me to know who He is. But what does that look like? How is that lived out? Does that mean I read a Scripture everyday and meditate on it? And what does meditate actually mean anyway? And not just for me today but what did it mean in the context of David's songs and prayers? Oh, how much I do not know and how much I have to learn and how scary it can be.

 I trust you Father to teach me and to make me like your Son. As your Son "Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:52), may I too be ever increasing in wisdom and in Your favor.

 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and
 knowledge of God!
      How unsearchable his judgments,
      and his paths beyond tracing out!
"Who has known the mind of the Lord?
      Or who has been his counselor?"
 "Who has ever given to God,
      that God should repay him?"
For from him and through him and to
him are all things.
      To him be the glory forever!
 Amen.
Romans 11:33-36

Tonight was fun. I went to eat with some friends and my sis. You know what else is fun? Decorating my home and cleaning and all of that in order to bless my husband and glorify the Lord.

 The sayings of King Lemuel—an oracle his mother taught him: ...She sets about  her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. - Proverbs 31:1&17

It's weird that even the small things are opportunities to glorify my Lord. I love making our bed and cleaning the kitchen and making sure the bathroom looks nice and neat. I know that it pleases the Lord when I keep my household in order and do it with a happy heart. Plus, I just love all of the new things that I have been blessed with and I want to take care of everything! It's great. I know it's silly and boring married stuff, but I love it. So, for anyone who thinks being a homemaker isn't a worthy calling - I must disagree and say that I have thoroughly enjoyed it and have found complete satisfaction in honoring the Lord and my husband in this way.

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom,and faithful instruction is on her tongue.  - Proverbs 31:20, 25-26

Now, this is what I want my home to be filled with; love for the poor and needy. As James says,

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.-James 1:27

And I desire to be clothed with strength and dignity - an example to my children and a joy to my husband,

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands... - 1 Peter 3:3-5

So that soon, I will become a woman of love, filled with kindness, self control and purity,

 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled  and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. - Titus 2:3-5
