Weirdness...

Ummm...I am not weird so I have nothing to say to this TAG... j/k!

1. I like to imitate Japanese Anime voices
2. I like the house/apt to be clean before I leave town or study
3. I am allergic to some of the best fruits in the entire world! (honeydew, apples, peaches, melons, coconut shavings, cucumbers [not a fruit] and more)
4. I talk, laugh and cry when I have dreams
5. I do NOT like people invading my bubble/kitchen space when I am cooking
6. (Continuing from Allan's Blog) I HATE it when the toilet seat is left up. I also put the cover down over the toilet seat after doing my business. (^^)
7. During the summer I wash my face constantly because I don't like to be sweaty and salty
8. When I am sick I miss my mommy and start crying
9. When I am tired I (have) fall(en) asleep on the wheel ... NEVER MAKE ME DRIVE when I am really tired
10. I forgot how to use a regular PC, I treat it like a Mac...doesnt work!

That's so not a duck!

Hey Everyone...(who reads my xanga)
I was checking my email this morning, talking to Sharon online all while watching Regis and Kelly when I saw a program of a man eating the most BIZARRE stuff...
One of them was a gooeduck (Geoduck)...I was like oh my gosh!
I didn't know what the name of it until today but I had an incident with one of those.

Back in Undergrad years my girlfriends and I went to the local Chinese market from school (they have mini-china-towns everywhere) just to hang out...I guess...
We went to the smelly seafood section. There were clams and fish in tanks.
But then there were these HUGE giant clams with their tongues sticking out of the tank.
One girl was from a beautiful small fishing town off the CA coast (Fort Bragg), another girl was a home schooled girl who didn't know much about different cultures (her parents kept her indoors) and then there was me the Asian kid who had no idea what it was.
So we stood there amazed when one of the tongues started to move!!!
Then the thing pointed right at me and squirted at me!!!!! It was so gross!!!! I yelled and screamed at the market!!!
Came out with nasty clam water on my shirt and arm...GROSS!

After all these years I found out that giant clam's name...gooeyduck.

A Blessing To A Brother and Sister You Love...

As you pray for them place your hands on your brother and sister (preferable same sex)...look into their eyes and tell them   YES, it is okay to pray with your eyes opened.

- May your head be filled with the knowledge of our Lord and thoughts of His grace.
- May your eyes be filled with God's creation and use them to admire His wonders.
- May your lips share His mercy, have heartfelt conversations with Him and sing Him praises.
- May your heart be filled with the ever lasting love of Christ. This is a joy and peace that cannot be replaced with wordly things.
- May your hands be used to touch the lives of others and be a service to His house. Remember to lift them high, reach out to Him when you worship our living God.
- May you use your feet to come praise the Lord on His day with your fellow brothers and sisters. Use them to travel to those who need fellowship and share the love of Jesus Christ.
- May I (Jade Jun) be your sister in Christ so we can help each other grow through accountability for God's kingdom and glory. May we build a friendship that is so deep it would reflect the love our Lord to those around us.

ps - Sorry if the fragments are weird and they are run on sentences...I don't eng-ge-lee-she!

God Bless You!!!!

30 Hour Famine

30 hour famine...
I had a wonderful time helping out with 30 hour famine.
Honestly I was really nervous because this was my first youth event at DCBC.
My job was simple compared to all the people who had to do the admin work, sermon and preparing.
I just joined a well planned out machine and just took things from there.

When I got to DCBC I helped out with registration and collecting sponsor money.
I was exhausted from covering a co-worker's morning shift at 6:30am and then going to k-town but I still enjoyed my time. So, it helped when I'm tired and I have good company (Cindy and Angel) to chat with.
David put me in charge of the ladies so when it was bed time Jade enforced the law.
I might have been a little scary or extra strict but when it comes to the rules and the youth there is no bending them. I ended up kicking out a 17 year old who didnt have a parent's consent form. It is illegal to have a minor stay over night at an event without written permission from his parents. Just because he was a senior who could drive it did not put him above the rules. So after I asked him to leave I went around the ladies rooms turning off lights at 12:30am. I needed the kids to be awake and ready to serve at the project the next day so I wanted to make sure they didn't pull an all nighter.

The next morning I was put in charge of World Impact. There were two groups. One group was to help with land scaping and construction while the others were to play with the children from the low income housing area. When the children arrived to play I could not believe how friendly the kids were. They just clinged onto a youth member and started to play with them. I thought they would be shy or something but you could see the joy in their faces when they saw us.
I left Cindy in charge with the youth and the children while I managed the kitchen staff. The frozen pizzas and chips looked so good! I just wanted to grab a slice and eat it. However after the 5 mins of pondering I got over myself and stopped being hungry! So instead I called up David Tang and asked if I could go to the store and pick up easy cookie mix and bake some cookies for the kids. He gave me the GREEN light so I took 2 youth members and picked up choco chip cookie and sugar cookie mix.

When it was time to bake cookies we had three girls and one boy help us in the kitchen. They were so ADORABLE! I was so PROUD of my youth girls cause they were really involved. We constantly made the children wash their hands telling them that it's important to have clean hands while working with food. (Then we had a visitor named John Trinh who came to take a cookie) The kids and the youth did a BRILLIANT job and we handed out the baked cookies to the children all over the site!

The girls quickly helped me clean the kitchen, the children went home and the rest of the youth cleaned the site. We said our good-byes. On our way home the person with the GPS (initials JL) got us LOST! Then when we finally got onto 75N I got a phone call from a parent saying there was a car accident. So David called me saying that he going to go pick up the kids with Clement. He put me in charge of the youth and asked to start worship practice.

People were tired and cranky. My drummer wasnt feeling well so I shifted everyone over to fill the positions but that in it self was a blessing. I got to work with two people I didnt know. Peter is a GREAT bass player! I had so much FUN praising the Lord with them. During worship I got the opportunity to tell them how proud i was of them. Not only did they fast but they raised money to support the hungry and needy.

When it was time to share I heard some of the most mature, wonderful and touching testimonies from these youth kids! Of course some of the testimonies were like: "Huh?" but I was really blown away on how much they learned the past 30 hours.

After we broke bread, watched a slide show, cleaned the rooms I went to Braum's for ice cream with the senior and juniors! Oh my goodness I had so much fun! Those kids are all so awesome! So much fun to be around and I love every single one of them...

I am so happy to be a part of the youth group at DCBC. They are such wonderful kids and I really want to be a part of their lives.
