2007 here we come...

never felt so expectant of the new year as i do now, as 2006 comes to a close and 2007 makes its way in...it was my first christmas with jsem, and it was such a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of jesus christ...of course i missed my family back in ny but i knew that God wanted me to experience the holidays in a different way~and although i was expecting to be stripped of all the nostalgia and the sugary goodness that the season brings, i received even greater joy because of God's love, the love that extends far beyond our imaginations...

wanted to introduce you to a special place called songjukwon girls home...

 this is ji-eun...she's 4 and very very spunky.. ^ ~

i'm so thankful for the amazing family that God has provided for me here in Korea...after being here over five years, one thing that i always long for is good ol' american holidays....this year, God even provided two turkey dinners for thanksgiving day!! one was at sookmyung with my fellow teachers, and another was with my brothers and sisters at jsem...both were really fun, filled with laughs, yummy food, and even better company... ^ ^   

one thing i never want to forget...God's constant pursuit of the human heart...and how he won mine...

for it's by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. for we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do...

why does he pursue us like he does??? Why does he want us to trust him???

i just want to say thank you to the one who deserves it most~ Jesus...

leaving tomorrow afternoon for la... can't wait to see steve and minsun un-nee finally make it official...gonna need tons of hyu-jee...when i see them together i just know it's right~

and then it'll be off to ny to see the fam...haven't been home for a long island summer in 3 years!! nothing like the beach...it's still that ocean breeze that gets me...just gonna soak it all in~

and i get to play with aaron and tyler in jersey, too!! yay!!! guys, i confess going home will be hard...please keep me and my family in your prayers... i'll miss u all~and yes, i'll be coming back to korea!  

no turning back...

so...got some news on monday...and my roomie said it's kinda like wanting to break up with your boyfriend and then getting dumped first...man, should i stop repeating that? nah...i think it's funny!!

so what am i talking about? well, after waiting about 3 months...i finally got a letter, in an old school envelope, you know the kind with red and blue stripes and a hand-written address...typewritten, i think with a typewriter...ok, i'm only mentioning this for the sake of my pride...

i got rejected from teachers college!!! one of the biggest surprises i've experienced yet...

but you know what?? i'm rejoicing in the Lord!!! 

because i was really in a place of not knowing what i was doing with my life and knew that although in my heart i wanted to trust God, i was too weak...

well, God closed the door here...but i am truly truly truly grateful for God's faithfulness, patience, loving discipline and provision... i say, "i give up, Lord!! show me the way-your way!!"

i love Korea, i do!! guys, thanks for supporting me along the way... =)
