| Merry Christmas everyone! Here I am, at work at 8:30 on Christmas morning. But, I didn't have anything else to do so I told them I wouldn't mind. I wish I at least got Holiday pay or something, but no such luck. Remember, I work at the Holiday Inn...this place sucks ass. Anyway, so what has been going on with me lately, you ask? Quite a bit, actually, and yet nothing at all. Someone has walked back into my life after months of being gone. I'm confused as to whether I still have feelings for him or if they're just old feeling resurfacing because we never had any sort of closure. Then there's someone new who I'm not sure if he's going to be someone entering my life or if he was just a fun time. We'll have to wait and see. As for other things, I'm pretty sure I'm quitting the Holiday Inn soon. This place just pisses me off. The managers absolutely don't give a shit about their employees. I know you'll say that most jobs are like that, but you'd have to see it first hand to understand how bad it really is. They don't even pretend. Every day I'm here I hate it more and more. I went and applied for the AT&T call center. I passed the call center simulation but they're not hiring at the moment. They told me to call back next month. So, I'll call back after the new year. Hopefully I'll get it. If not, I'll find something else. I just can't stand this place... | | |
| Exciting new of the day from Jamie...I am now the AM Lead at the Holiday Inn! That means that I'll be training new morning employees (at the front desk) and junk like that. I'm really excited. Not only will it mean a raise (not a huge one, but a quarter more an hour helps...plus I'll get another quarter raise after three months), but it's a management position...that will look great on any other job I may apply for later. It's a really good step up, especially if I decide I want to stay in the hotel industry. Of course, the bad thing is that I can't actually start it yet. Josh stopped coming to work so I haven't had a day off in over a week (coming up on two now). I'm training someone who was supposed to be my replacement, but in a few more days when he's ready to be by himself he'll actually become my relief instead. So, we'll have to hire another Night Auditor (they're looking...anyone interested?) and I'll train them and then I get to go to days full time. I'm so happy! | | |
| I made a big decision a couple of days ago...I cancelled my internet at home. To anyone who knows me, that's amazing. It's just so expensive. For cable internet I was paying fifty bucks a month! Here I am, paying fifty dollars a month for internet, but not having any food in my fridge...so, yeah. Away it went. And you know what? It felt really good doing it... | | |
| Okay...so after six months of working at the front desk they finally get me a real uniform (I've just been wearing black slacks and a white button up that I bought). Yes, I have one of the nasty bruised bananna uniforms. They're gross and they're not flattering to anyone. You know the funny thing, though? I've had everyone tell me that I look cute in it. I don't really understand...they don't look good...they're just ugly. I tell them that and they're like, well, it looks good on you. I guess I need to go buy some yellow and gray shirts...they must be my colors...

| First of all, drinking is BAD. Yeah...too bad I'll forget the hangover before too long and probably do it again...people really are dumb, huh? Haha. Anyway, I get to move to days at work. I'm pretty happy, but it's probably going to take forever. Well, first I have to see what's going on with the Reservations position I'm trying for. Nathan starts interviewing this week, so we'll see how that goes. I really hope I get it, but who knows. If that doesn't pan out, then once they hire someone else for me to train I'll start working from seven to three...it'll be hard getting up that early in the morning, but at least I'll have the whole afternoon and evening to do my own thing. I'm pretty excited, but it'll probably be at least a month before I can make the move...ick.
