honestly believe that what we did has the chance to change the lives of
a lot of people. thank you so much for allowing us to be a
ministry that can do what we did last night. it is a joy to serve
you guys. keep praying that the seed that was sown last night
will continue to reap a harvest for months and years to come.
takes place there is always the element of the unknown. for quite
a while now i've felt a change needed to take place in chi alpha
and how we "did" ministry. we simply we're not getting the job
done, we had become stagnant, comfortable and and at least in my eyes
increasingly ineffective.

with that being said, change is on the way, and along with it the
element of the unknown. i don't know what this change will bring,
but i do believe it is the direction God would have us to go. i
asked you to pray about the spring semester over the break, i hope you
have and are returning having heard from God. you the student are
the key to this change. are you ready?
anything you do on a regular basis there are going to be times when
you're not really into what you are doing. Sunday morning i had
to "preach" at my home church as i always do when the pastor is out of
town. this sunday was one of those days when i just wasn't into
it at all. i wasn't excited about my topic at all and when you
speak that's pretty important. so, i start speaking but i'm
hating it the whole time, i'm not concentrating and i'm just going
through the motions. i'm definitely not on top of my game.

i'm thinking to myself this is painful for me how much more painful
must this be for everyone else. well my lack of concentration was
about to come back and bite me in the butt. so i'm speaking while
thinking ahead to what i was going to say next when i pay the price for
not being into what i was doing. i don't even remember what i was
talking about so i'll fill it in with blahs. so i say, blah,
blah, blah blah b-blah, "more worse"... that's right, more freaking
worse.

moral #1: when you goof around with the english language,
speaking incorrectly on purpose because it's funny and it irritates
english majors, it will come back to bite you.

moral #2: we all screw up in important situations from time to
time. failure is a part of life. sometimes it's our fault
because of lack of preperation or in my case just a bad attitude,
sometimes it just happens without anyone really to blame. learn
from it, laugh at it and move on, and when you wake up the next morning
be grateful you get another shot at life.

just a thought

is it possible to abuse God's grace? or does the very existence of grace make it impossible to do so?

i'm working on this for next wed. night, so by commenting you can personally help put together next weeks "sermon".
Tuesday, October 11, 2005

get off your butt and do something...anything!
