I had [at least] a three hour nap this afternoon. It was slightly interrupted a few times by Em, who did NOT want to nap, but it was still great. I still feel groggy, though...I guess that's what happens when you get this tired.
Our weekend plans were quite rudely interrupted. We have been planning on going to a fish fry for months now. A man who used to work with Matt is a Mason (I think) and they have one twice a year. We've missed the past few, so we were VERY excited about this one. And afterwards, we were going to take the girls to Fossil Rim. Instead, we had to come home and wait for a plumber. On a Saturday. We called our landlord on Tuesday - the pipes for the washing machine just sort of pooped out. Water was leaking EVERYWHERE. Including into my kitchen through the wall separating the two. I had very few clean towels all week long because I had to use them to sop up the water. And I couldn't leave the water on without flooding my house, so I had to turn the water faucets off and on in between loads. Needless to say, I am STILL not caught up with laundry. Anywho, that's not the point. When we talked to the landlord on Tuesday, she said that he would be out Thursday or Friday. Nice. In the meantime, I get to deal with a wet floor and piles of laundry. So, 2 pm Friday, still no word from the plumber. I call the landlord back, she says she'll call him. She called Matt back sometime after 4:30 on Friday and said, "If you don't hear from him within two hours, call me back." - as he was clicking in on the other line. So he says he'll be here at noon the next day. So much for our weekend plans. Bummer.
But last night, Blake and Alyssa (our bass player and his sister) and her daughter, Baby Chloe came over to watch my birds get ripped on by the Rangers. Blake is a Ranger fan, so it was a fun night. We grilled fajitas, had queso and chips, guac, and salsa, cookies, ice cream...all the good stuff. I felt so nasty full by the end of the night, but we had fun. Alyssa's husband is on a boat somewhere off the coast of VA in the Navy, so she's staying with her mom, dad, and brother. The girls LOVE Baby Chloe, and I've enjoyed hanging out with Alyssa.
This is our last week of school - and then next week we'll get to relax for a week before our summer schedule changes at the gym. The only gym that's changing is Cleburne, and I'm getting a break from the evening classes for the summer and picking up a few more in the mornings. It will be nice to be home two nights a week. And I am counting down the days to Thursday -- my massage. Man. I need it. My shoulders have been screaming at me for days.
Okay, time to get the girls ready for bed. It's an early morning tomorrow, so early to bed is the way to go. If I start now, we can be in bed by 8. Matt and the youth went to see Caspian tonight - I wanted to go, but had I gone, the girls would have been up late at Kaylon's and that would have made tomorrow morning b.a.d. So, I chose to sit this one out. Maybe I'll go see it with Kelli - she couldn't go tonight, either.
