  • I'm here....but there's not much to say.

WaMu comercials are lame.  (sorry, Christy....I love you no less)

Busy day...as always.  Two classes this morning, then we went to the mall for the girls to play.  They had a great time, and we got a birthday present for the party we are going to on Saturday - Webkinz, buy one get one free, so it was like hitting paydirt.  Em bought a little Yorkie who she named Sweet Suzy.  I thought it was a cat...I didn't look very closely.  I thought it was a really fuzzy cat.  Nope.  A yorkie.  So Em spent much of the afternoon spoiling her new pet.  I couldn't get the Webkinz site to work on the desktop, but the laptop worked - which was good.  It allowed me to work on my spin music...or so I thought.  That was interrupted by the many times I had to help Sweet Suzy, or HK who didn't want to nap.  Good times.  It was a rough day.  But we have those days every now and then.

Oh, my sweet HK.  Last night she was almost asleep when I went in to cover her up - she was in that state between sleep and awake.  I gave her a kiss and she said, "I luh you, too, Mommy....moo a bat, too, mommy."  (I love you, too, mommy....moon and back, too, mommy, for those of you who don't speak HK)  I just about melted.  It didn't matter that we had played the "I need to potty" game for an hour and a half before she finally went to sleep.  It didn't matter that she pooped in her panties yesterday.  None of it mattered.  It never does.  Those moments erase everything else.

Okay, that's all I guess.  I love my girls.  And I need a shower.  So I better get...it's late and I'm tired.  And stinky.  So until next time....

  • HODGE-PODGE

I had [at least] a three hour nap this afternoon.  It was slightly interrupted a few times by Em, who did NOT want to nap, but it was still great.  I still feel groggy, though...I guess that's what happens when you get this tired.

Our weekend plans were quite rudely interrupted.  We have been planning on going to a fish fry for months now.  A man who used to work with Matt is a Mason (I think) and they have one twice a year.  We've missed the past few, so we were VERY excited about this one.  And afterwards, we were going to take the girls to Fossil Rim.  Instead, we had to come home and wait for a plumber.  On a Saturday.  We called our landlord on Tuesday - the pipes for the washing machine just sort of pooped out.  Water was leaking EVERYWHERE.  Including into my kitchen through the wall separating the two.  I had very few clean towels all week long because I had to use them to sop up the water.  And I couldn't leave the water on without flooding my house, so I had to turn the water faucets off and on in between loads.  Needless to say, I am STILL not caught up with laundry.  Anywho, that's not the point.  When we talked to the landlord on Tuesday, she said that he would be out Thursday or Friday.  Nice.  In the meantime, I get to deal with a wet floor and piles of laundry.  So, 2 pm Friday, still no word from the plumber.  I call the landlord back, she says she'll call him.  She called Matt back sometime after 4:30 on Friday and said, "If you don't hear from him within two hours, call me back." - as he was clicking in on the other line.  So he says he'll be here at noon the next day.  So much for our weekend plans.  Bummer.

But last night, Blake and Alyssa (our bass player and his sister) and her daughter, Baby Chloe came over to watch my birds get ripped on by the Rangers.  Blake is a Ranger fan, so it was a fun night.  We grilled fajitas, had queso and chips, guac, and salsa, cookies, ice cream...all the good stuff.  I felt so nasty full by the end of the night, but we had fun.  Alyssa's husband is on a boat somewhere off the coast of VA in the Navy, so she's staying with her mom, dad, and brother.  The girls LOVE Baby Chloe, and I've enjoyed hanging out with Alyssa.

This is our last week of school - and then next week we'll get to relax for a week before our summer schedule changes at the gym.  The only gym that's changing is Cleburne, and I'm getting a break from the evening classes for the summer and picking up a few more in the mornings.  It will be nice to be home two nights a week.  And I am counting down the days to Thursday -- my massage.  Man.  I need it.  My shoulders have been screaming at me for days.

Okay, time to get the girls ready for bed.  It's an early morning tomorrow, so early to bed is the way to go.  If I start now, we can be in bed by 8.  Matt and the youth went to see Caspian tonight - I wanted to go, but had I gone, the girls would have been up late at Kaylon's and that would have made tomorrow morning b.a.d.  So, I chose to sit this one out.  Maybe I'll go see it with Kelli - she couldn't go tonight, either.

  • Ups and Downs

We had an accident at school - combination of not going for her teachers (STILL) and the teacher being a few minutes late taking them, I think.  Who knows, really.  But all I know is she was wet.  I got down there to see if they wanted me to try - we were on our way to play-time in the gym (still too wet outside from all the rain) and made my kids sit against the wall in the playroom so I could take her.  We got in there and I noticed her panties were wet....and so were pants.  Ugh.  But the girl still tee-teed in the potty, so I wonder if she caught herself or something.  She didn't go for her teachers any more after that, but she didn't have another accident, either.  She went as soon as she got up to my classroom.  I don't know what we'll do on Tuesday when all of the 3's (my class included) are at the park and I can't run down every 45 mins / hour to take her to potty...Maybe I'll send some potty prizes for them to bribe her with.  Whatever works.

I can't believe we only have two more days of school left.  One and a half, really.  We get out at 11:30 on Thursday, and most of the day Tuesday we will be playing at the park.  I know that several of my kids are leaving after we get finished at the park, so it's really only one more day - two halves make a whole, right?  lol  And after school on Thursday, our boss is taking us all to lunch at Spring Creek.  Yummy.

And you know what else rocks about Thursday?  I'm getting a massage.  Oh yeah.  After my class.  I'm going to shower so I'm not all sweaty, and it's off to get massaged.  It's well overdue.  I can feel the knots in my shoulders growing and multiplying.  It's not pleasant.  I figure that by waiting until Thursday it will be a nice "end of the year" gift for myself.

Speaking of, I have to get teacher gifts.  I know what I'm doing, it's just a matter of getting it.  I found the idea on FamilyFun.com - once again, LOVE that website.  It's simple, and it's functional.  I'm all about that.  And it's something I would enjoy.  Another bonus.  You just get cute little sun-tea jars and fill them with tissue paper and various teas and lemonades.  Perfect for summertime!

Okay, my girls who are supposed to be sleeping are not...so it's time to go play enforcer.  Fun times!

    *edit*

it's hard to be the enforcer when you walk in and find this
    notsleeping

There she sat, just playing her little heart out while Em was passed out sleeping not three feet away.  So we cleaned out the bed, and she fussed because I took too much out.  She finally settled on this

  • BOOTS IS DRY!

All day long!  No accidents!  Yahoo!!  I went down and took her while my kids were in music, and as we were leaving chapel her teacher caught me in the hallway - she had been sitting on the potty for a few minutes and doing nothing, so I went in there.  She told me she didn't need to go, so I went back about 15 minutes later and took her and she pottied.  Then after nap, Mrs. Connie told me she sat on the potty for five minutes and did nothing...but she was DRY!  And as soon as she got to my class, I took her to potty.  As we were walking to the bathroom, she looked at me so proudly and announced, "BOOTS DWY, MOMMY!"  And sure enough, those precious little Boots panties were dry!  My big girl!!

I think that's all I got for tonight.  Off to watch Samantha Who from last night!  Love that show...I just wish I would have started watching it from the beginning, not from the start of the second half of the season...oh well.  I'm sure I could find it online if I looked hard enough.  Adios, muchachos!

    *edit*

I just uploaded a few pics from the weekend -

HK was SOOO tired Friday night - we had been out late at a party at church - our pastor graduated seminary.  It was probably pushing 10:00 by the time they got bathed, and HK just couldn't take it any more....

As I was drying Em's hair, she just crashed, right there leaning on the bathroom wall.  Precious girl.

If it weren't for their dance performance Saturday morning, I would have just put them in bed sand dirt and all...but we had to be up early Saturday for this...

HK actually danced this time!  She didn't just stand around staring at everyone in the audience.  She was so cute!!  And oh so proud of herself!  My tiny dancers!

  • Potty Progress

It's been a great two days -- only one accident today, and I saw it coming.  I had a feeling she had to poop...she kept saying she needed to potty, she'd sit down, say, "nope", then hop up.  And as I was in the other room putting Em's hair up for soccer, she found her window.  I caught in the process and put her on the potty, where she finished.  It's okay, though....she didn't have ANY accidents yesterday.  And she stayed dry during her nap both yesterday and today.  No accidents at either gym today.  None at WalMart (could be because we went to the potty 4 times in the two hours we were there.  Two hours was a LONG time to spend at WM.  And I ended up forgetting a few things, too.

HK's got a nasty cough going on.  I think it's allergy-triggered, but you just never can tell with her and her coughs.  I'll give her another dose of Xyrtec before bed.

Looks like I'm going to BodyStep the last weekend of this month!!  I am SOOO excited!  It's in Tyler.  Anyone know any good hotels in that area?

Okay, it's way past bedtime b/c of soccer and my class, etc...so I have to wash hair and get the girls in bed.  Just wanted to update on the potty training process.  We'll see how school goes tomorrow.
