So...

Life...   so beautiful yet so terrifying sometimes, ey?  hah.   School is out around June 2nd for me.  Dunno when I'm coming home yet.  I guess probably sometime after the 10th though.  (One of my friends is coming in, gotta see them.)   School is well I suppose.  Just doing my best.  Thats all anyone can do, anyway, right.  :D   No but seriously things are well.   This summer will be interesting.   Most of you guys have moved away.  Granted, nothing keeps me from roadtripping a lot to see you guys (I imagine thats what will happen.)    We are a bunch of party animals at ultramania (our house name.  Apparently its a trend to name your house around here.  hah).   We work hard and party hard.   Crime?  Maybe.  haha.

The date went extremely well tonight.  We originally had planned on going to a middle eastern resteraunt but it ended up being closed.  So, we ended up eating at a local pizza place called Vinnie Van Go-Gos.  Some of the best pizza you will find in Savannah.

Eventually Elgin, Mai, Pilah, Race, Ness, Robert, and Hiroshi came down and everyone went up to our friend's Pilah's apartment and took part in a "social experiment" if you will.  We took people from the room and gave them very strange hair styles.  We took before and after photos of them and then walked down to the riverstreet/city market area and asked people what they thought of the before and after photos. Some people ended up just ignoring us all together while others reactions were just "oh my god...".

Honestly though it was incredibly fun...l.  I ended up looking like I was a subject out of one of Andy Worhol's paintings.  The color stuff they put in our hair was a pain in the butt to get out... I honestly thought for a second that it wouldn't come out.  Thank god it did.

So yeah, finals are getting into crunch time.  I've got one paper finished, my self portrait almost finished (still have to finish the right hand, amp and work on the eyes some more) as well as a final film project to finish.  Ugh.  I don't know how the film project is going to turn out.  It is really well edited until it gets near the end.  I'm going to have to work on it a lot.   There were a few shots that I ended up forgetting to film, but its too late to fix that now.  Just gotta work with what footage I have.   Hopefully it'll turn out ok.   We'll see.

All is well!  I have asked Sirapa (Ploy) out this weekend.  We're hitting it off pretty well I think.

Well... finals are approaching and I am almost done with my life drawing final.  I'm having to do a full body self portrait.  Similar to the one I had to do for drawing II.  You can see it below:

It still has quite a bit of work to be done to it.  I still have to finish the face (tighten up some lines, put the eys in and work on the mouth), work on the right arm/hand, finish the guitar and the guitar amp.  Then finally just some minor touchups.

Hopefully I can finish it all tomorrow.   That way I can have the rest of the weekend to edit my short film for my Cinematography class.  I have so much raw footage that its gonna take all weekend just to edit everything into sequence, etc.

Well, time to get some sleep.

I am one happy art student right now.

A part of me wants to come home but another part simply does not.  For obvious reasons, six weeks sounds like a long time.  Oh well.

I recieved my first Cordau in capoeira on November 5th.  I attended the 3rd Annual Grupo Bantu Capoeira Batizado (portugese for baptism... however not the same religious baptism that you or I may think of... it was more of a recognition of my involvement with the sport/art of capoeira.  Meaning that it was a ceremony that officially recognized that I was a part of grupo bantu capoeira.  It had even more special meaning for me due to the fact that November 5th was the day my family celebrated the life of Richard Gernler--Loving friend of our family.  He was a great man who had the biggest heart you would ever find.  So this ceremony was a way for me to celebrate the memories I had with Mr. Richard and his wife Shirley as they came from California/Hawaii to visit my family.

Next tuesday (the 23rd) will be my last day here.  I'll be driving down on wednesday to come home I suppose.  Again, mixed feelings on the whole situation but it'll be good regardless.

Oh noes.  I am in teh floreedaah.  Race, Myself, Eun and Alex drove down here today just for the hell of it.  Eun and I are the only ones still up (except for race, who just took his gf back to her house) right now.  I finally finished my warm/cool colors painting project.  I think i spent over 25 hours on that damn piece.  Thank god it's over.   I mean it was fun learning to paint for real (and it came out good I think) but I can't tell ya how many nights where all I did was eat/sleep/paint.  Nothing more.  Hah.

Saw Constantine the other night.  Overall not a bad movie.  A few things that left you like... "uh... why didn't they go into more detail about this or that"  but I guess that's what happens when you have a friend who's a film major.

I also saw Kung Fu Hustle.  haha.  Best movie ever.  Has no real plot but is extremely amusing.

I think I got a total of like 3 and a half hours of sleep last night.  Yet I'm still up.  Had to get up early this morning and film another movie with race and spencer.

We picked up the equipment at 8 and were "done" by around 11:30.  Well, the camera race and spencer were using this time was slightly different than normal.  After wrestling with loading the film into the camera, they thought they had got it all in and working, as they got it to actually feed through the camera, as they recorded, etc.  (We're talking about a real 16mm film camera, now)  Well, about half-way through the shoot, we hear a loud pop.  We're like, oh well.  We're not about to stop filming.  So, we continue filming and the camera suddenly stops in the middle of our shots, etc.  We wind it again and shoot.   We finally finish and as they go to open the camera up in the dark room next door, all of the film basically shoots out of the side of the camera.  The film is totally screwed up.  Yet again, the film department's equipment is broken.  WTF.  Oh well.  Shit like this happens from time to time.

Anyway, I think we're going to go eat at "dick's wings" tomorrow and maybe chinese (or so I hope).  Dunno what else we'll do.  I should edit my paper tomorrow too, as I need to be working on my research paper this coming week.

Yarr.

Oh, btw, here's a pic of my first color theory project from the beginning of the quarter.  I'll post a pic of my latest project whenever I get it back, etc.

I'm hitting the submit button now.  Wee.
