When I first arrived in the Mayo conference center, I was given a big fat syllabus, and two huge books, totalling about 20 lbs.  They are pretty serious.  Well, it is Rochester, Minnesota.  What else do I expect here except medicine?  Afterall, they picked the right place to hold the Cardiology Board Review Course, there is virtually no other distractions here, excepts the various random thoughts of my own.

12 hours a day for six days; that's the agenda for this week.  I shouldn't complain.  In fact, I should be grateful.  I really wanted to get away from work and be able to focus on studying, at least for a week.  Afterall, I have two important exams ahead of me, and I do need to pass.  After 7 years of residency and fellowship, studying for exams is no longer natural for me.  Attention span has shorted; concentration is weak.  Studying can only happen between coffee breaks and bathroom breaks.

Thanks to the Mayo Clinic, the reveiw course is indeed excellent.  They convinced me that I would easily fail if I had not come to this course.  Answering an exam question is afterall quite different from real life practice.

It's been so long since I updated my xanga.  So many changes have happened over the past two months!  It is so unreal!

I guess I should pose something about our trip to Europe.  But Donna wrote such nice blog, you should see hers instead:

I have been in Hong Kong for almost 1 week now.  The primary impression is it is REALLY hot and humid.  Very humid.  My skin is like covered with a thick layer of oil and sweat every time I walk on the street.

World Cup Final is coming.  Italy overall is probably a better team.  But Zidane is having a roll here.  Honestly, I don't care which one of these two wins as long as they play a good game.  But since we'll be arriving in Rome within 24 hours after the Final, I wonder what would happen to the city either way...

For our competition, Tobesamantha got 11 pts; I got 11 pts; YrRed got 19 pts; Ckybencky got 12 pts; tplus got 8 pts.  So, YrRed wins again as one of his favorite teams, Italy, does so well.  So, I'll buy you a little gift from Europe, but hey, you are going  to Europe already this summer!
