| ok so i lied... i am going to update. but only to say that i love babies. i want one soooo bad. i will wait, of course. but this clinical is just amazing. today i was in the nursery and all i did all day was hold and feed the babies (and do nursing things too like assessments and diapers and all that....) but yah. it's just amazng to me really... when i came back from lunch there were two new babies... i couldn't help but think "two hours ago you weren't alive..... you were in your mommy's tummy... and now here you are!" idk, it just is amazing to think about. also, it's crazy how quickly you can get used to holding a 6 lb. baby. at first i was scared they would break, then by the end, i feel like a pro! haha not really. oh, i got to see a circumcision too. that was kinda painful to watch, poor little guy. but interesting none the less. anyway, i'm going to take a nap now. i've already been awake for twelve hours and that is way too much on 4 hours of sleep. so nite nite! | | |

Ok so after church today a group of us (Jennifer, Heather, Nicole, Leah, and myself) decided to go to Mi Ranchitos. So we get there and this old man is in front of us to be seated first and he goes and sits down and then we get seated. So we're eating our meal and having a good time(except for the loud annoying group sitting behind us) and we're just about ready to order desert and the old man walks up and puts a piece of paper on the table and says you dont have to say a thing and walks off. We were all like WHAT?!?!?!?!? So we look down at the paper and it says "check is paid you are welcome"!!!!!! Isn't that so sweet? He was all alone and paid for the 5 of us to eat!!!!! I don't know who that old man was, but he gets major props for today and has encouraged me as well as the other girls to do more random acts of kindness for people. I'm still in amazement!!!!!

| so i'm pretty sure i'm not really gonna be writing in here anymore just because a) i dont have time and b) nobody really reads these anymore. but in case anyone still does.... i just wanted to say that i had the most exciting day EVER yesterday!!! im in OB clinical and yesterday i was in labor & delivery. i most definitely got to watch an epidural, c-section, AND a vaginal delivery!!! the c-section baby was my patient so i got to help clean him up and give him a bath, take his vital signs, and put his little clothes on him. it was SOOO exciting i can't even tell you! i also got to do a foley catheter, which is very exciting for a nursing student... trust me! anyway, hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
ok, i have to update again.... just because i had another SUPER exciting day! i had a laboring patient that i took care of all morning, then i got to help hold her legs up and everything while she delivered! THEN, i got to take the baby and do all of his initial assessments, weigh him, measure him, give him shots, bathe him, and wrap him up! he was SO precious.... it was just amazing. (oh... i got to do another foley too!) sigh.... i'm definitely going to miss L&D!!!
| hello, friends. i hope everyone is well and had a wonderful christmas. mine was good and i got lots of goodies. well, i know two things for sure. break has been great and i dont want to go back to school. i do miss all of you harding folk, i just am not ready to start back into the 18 hours of nursing days again.
things have definitely been busy here. i've had lots of fun going out with friends and things, worked alot, and spent time with family. this week so far has been eventful. day after christmas and i put in a 8 hour day working manual labor cleaning up this old house with rat poo everywhere, then spend about 7 hours in the ER with my grandpa, then spend the night with grandma, get about 4 hours of sleep before having to wake up to go to CARE. luckily, there were hardly any kids so i got to leave after two hours and go take a short nap. then when i woke up, me and nicole went back up there, only to leave again and go shopping, order pizza, then went to a movie with kaitlyn. work all day again tomorrow. sigh... so much to do, so little time! at least it's fun and what's not fun i get money for though. anyway, please keep my gma (dads mom), gpa (moms dad), and uncle (moms brother)in your prayers. family health is really getting me down. love you all!!!
| christmas time is here. finals are over. moving rooms stinks, but is oh so exciting at the same time. i'm pretty sure i made straight Bs this semester, which i am ecstatic about.... it's nice to not have to care about your GPA anymore. i like it alot. i'm going home tomorrow. i can't wait to see maggie in her new santa dress. and others as well. i am really going to miss everyone ALOT over the break. everyone have a safe trip home and a very merry christmas. i love you all!!! | | |
