Well, I was officially insulted by my neighbor the other day. Let me just say that I have two sweet dogs, and yes they get a bad rap for being pit bulls. But not once have I ever seen a mean streak in them. It's all in how you raise them. The neighborhood kids all know their names and run up to pet them when I walk them around the neighborhood. They sit patiently and let each kid pet their heads and give them all slobbery kisses, but have never even so much as jumped on a single child. So I was in my backyard the other day when this lady decides to get pissy with me out of the blue...I've never spoken to her before, mind you. She proceeds to ask if I fight my dogs, like making them do those horrible fights between other pit bulls til one of them is severely injured. I was so stunned, at first I didn't know what to say. Then I looked at her all confused and said "Why would I do a thing like that? I love these girls dearly and never want to hurt them. What makes you ask?" She then tells me that she's "seen things." I ask her what has she seen going on in my backyard that I don't know about and she can't seem to tell me. I asked her if they looked abused and she said "Well I wouldn't know, I don't know anything about pitbulls." Ok, so then I wanted to tell her if she didn't then she could shut up and keep her thoughts to herself, since I wasn't over there demanding to know if she abuses her kids completely out of the blue. My dogs are like my kids at the moment, and I would never abuse, nor let them fight any other dog. Yes that happens, but people who do that with their dogs don't care about them and are in it for the money. I am certainly not one of those people. I asked her if my dogs had ever bothered her, been in her backyard, bitten someone in her family, or was ever agressive with them. She of course said no. So I asked her to kindly do not accuse me blindly of mistreating my animals. But she was so worked up! She never could tell me what exactly it was that she was talking about...so clearly it was just because she's heard horror stories of pitbulls, I have heard them too. But I haven't raised my girls to attack strangers or be aggressive. So Precious has been sick ....I let her in yesterday and she slept for 4 hours in my arms! Yep, she's sound asleep in these pictures. She had a virus but she's all better today. On another note...my 17 yr old brother, Christopher got a tattoo the other day. Haha. My mom was ok with it surprisingly. I guess she said she would rather him be out getting tatted than be out doing drugs...So Oklahoma was one of the last 2 states in the U.S. to finally legalize tattooing. He found a place and I went along for the experience. He already had his tatt picked out, but soon all the tattoo artists were trying to talk ME into getting one too!! No way! I kept telling them I have NO pain tolerance and they were way too expensive anyways! They all seemed to enjoy ganging up on me though, and jokingly giving me a hard time! Oh well, I can take it! So here's some pics of his tatt:
The words around the cross are in Latin and they mean "If you want peace, prepare for war." True I suppose. He says it's the Army Rangers motto, which he hopes to be in one day. Here's his junior yr. pic....he's all grown up! (Angel)
Well, that's all for now...that's enough rambling I'm sure! |
