  • hey there thugs and thugettes...

i have a cell phone!! 609 851 6594. there are so many features on it, i am both confused and astounded. does anyone really connect to the web on their phone?

so. since i am here. things on my mind:

    my hair is very soft.

i got catcalled by a 40 year old woman in new brunswick.

my parents woke me up and dragged me out of the house at 6 am only to change their minds and leave me at home.

finished harry potter in two sittings. in my mind, dumbledore looks like lamy, an old professor.

hahaha. life is so exciting. to hear more, call the number above. back to studying.

  • i don't know how to say this. it's really... hard... i mean, you've been great. the comments and eprops and everything were really sweet, and i'll remember them forever. but i'm in a point in my life where... you know, it's not you. it's me. really. this xanga thing isn't working out. the weather is so beautiful outside, my free time so spare as it is, i can't commit to unnecessary time in front of a computer when i could be outside or spending time with friends. it's not that we haven't had good times, it's just that i prefer real face to face contact, or at least a phone call, instead of face time with a screen. when i was in france, things were going really well, but i think we've grown apart and now that i'm home, it's better to end things now rather then drag out. so, dear xanga, i bid you adieu and hope our paths cross again one day in the future. i hope you find your perfect someone. in fact, i know you're already seeing other people! you... immoral floozy!

that's right foolios, if you want a piece of this jenny pie, you're going to have to do it old school... contact me yourself. so thanks for reading and commenting and eproping (even though they have no value whatsoever... i should at least be able to get a keychain or something!). and don't even bother with friendster or facebook or even the usc alumni network... i don't know how to work those newfangled internet doodads.

but really, lots of hearts for your support and encouragement while i was in france. a dull or homesick day was quickly turned around with a witty comment. hopefully it was as entertaining to you as it was cathartic to me. so thank you, my friends. je vous fais pleine des gros bisous et je vous verrai a bientot!

  • 1. so lately all my thoughts have been consumed by questions of my future. all very stress inducing and fun destroying.

    a. since i seem to be unable to conclude anything definite myself, i turn to a higher power.

    YOUR A DOCTOR!

    var img_str1="";img_str1=""; var result_str1="";

    Doctor

    100%

    Architect

    100%

    Engineer

    83%

    i-Banker

    50%

    Lawyer

    33%

i'm heading in the right direction for doctor, but architect? i've always been interested by olivia's random projects and designs, but the insomnia lifestyle is unacceptable. but i suppose i'd prefer being an architect over the other options.

    b. i need to not worry so much. it's definitely taking a physical toll. i got a zit. and have weird sleeping hours. and am incredibly disgruntled. for me, the people i admire the most are successful and surprisingly chill. so... success = chillness? or chillness = success? in the end, whatever i decide is going to lead to more stress inducing situations, so better i not worry now and save it for later. lots of wasted energy better channeled into productivity!

    2. birthday dinner went off well. menu: tortilla soup, salad, pasta with mushroom sauce, chocolate cake. all made from scratch. what's that? yup, that's right, I'M AWESOME. i cooked enough to feed a small country because i expected the boys to eat a lot-- however, now that they're not playing tennis, they all eat less than me. sad. sent jon lee home with a "goody bag" for his family and i've been eating pasta and cake every day since. my mom is still astounded that i can cook-- she's been saying things like, "now we never have to go to olive garden! you can cook for us every weekend!" i admit my early attempts in the kitchen were disasterous, but i've learned over the years. and it really isn't that hard if you follow recipe directions.  thank goodness for epicurious.com!

it was a deviation from typical bday festivities, but there's something nice about giving something to your friends and family for your birthday instead of getting something. not that i don't love getting presents, but there's always that feeling of obligation to reciprocate. this present seems to be of roughly 20$ value, so when your birthday comes around, i must remember to give something about equal... takes all the fun out of gift giving and birthdays, right? so... you grace me with your lovely presence and i feed you. a done deal. and to be honest, i'm pretty heinous about bday presents, let alone remembering bdays, so i think people know better than to give me a present. but shouldn't my lifelong and unwavering love and friendship be enough?!

    3. summer school starts tomorrow. five days a week, more or less all day. most weekends will be spent at princeton review. i assume all other free time will be spent studying. yup. at least jon lee will be interning in the princeton area so maybe we'll cross paths on river road every now and then. i heart summer school! huzzah!

  • jenny is no longer in france. but the updates keep coming. you know you love it.

wednesday, may 18- guess what's passing through town? none other than the wil and patty's east coast food tour! after a pit stop at white castle in newark and the grease trucks at rutgers, they came down to the hottest town south of nyc-- princeton! grabbed some yummy artisan (translation: overpriced and weird flavors) ice cream at bent spoon, snacked on two inches each of an italian hoagie from hoagie haven, then took a break to stroll through town. after some impressive foosball action and an impromptu piano concert in a student lounge, we decide to go canoeing to burn some calories and stimulate our appetites before dinner. brilliant idea, no? canoeing is great fun-- princeton is beautiful this time of the year, everything's green and flowering and it isn't hot enough for the mosquitoes. better yet, the princeton u crew team is still practicing! we enjoy the beautiful view in lake carnegie, get all the way down to the harrison road bridge, and are having a grand old time because we are EXPERT canoers. maybe we were a little too awesome because the next thing i know, we've capsized and we're all in the water.

    everyone: hahaha!

    splash! ensuing thoughts:

me: my shoes! are the crew boys going to save us? must save my shoes! it's really hard to swim and grip sandals with toes. ... why is will trying to cop a feel underwater?

wil: no one is wearing a life vest! jenny is drowning! must grab her butt and boost her above water!

patty: my shoes! my phone! my wallet! good thing i didn't wear my jeans.

in the end, a fishing boat came over the help us and we uprighted the canoe and made our way back home. thankfully, we found all electronic devices, though whether they work or not is another story. quick shower at my house, then dinner at alchemist and barrister where wil explained the subjectivity of mixed signals with ketchup, salt, pepper, and artificial sugar substitutes. and the fun didn't stop once the pate and wil left town. a couple days later, wil's cell phone, which he lost sometime during the day, resurfaces at the princeton police station. huzzah!

and that was not even a full day in princeton. where else can you find a town with such honesty, adventure, and great food?

tonight- took cousins to see star wars. is okay. hayden christensen was so good in life as a house, but i was disappointed here. eh. didn't see the second film so maybe i'm missing out on something. highlights are yoda, seeing how the emperor and darth vader came to be, and anakin and padme's fly apartment. natalie portman had some cute outfits, but not so convincing as a pregnant mother. looks like they just stuffed a pillow under her dress. was kind of disappointed in the lack of racial diversity in the cast. you'd think a sci fi movie would be the best venue to showcase minority actors-- they don't have to look mainstream or fit a specific physical description because they're aliens and have purple skin anyway. but i think one of the jedi general's wife was asian and samuel l jackson was a jedi. also noticed a lot of cold war parallels, more so than in the original trilogy. is logical for lucas to be inspired by current events while making these movies. hmmm... so if bush is the chancellor...

started working today too but there isn't anything interesting to say about that. i can't really badmouth getting paid to read books. sadly, this weekend's paycheck will go to paying for my parking ticket. SAD. consider it a ransom for wil's phone.

but... there's always this wednesday to look forward to! a big fat kiss to whoever knows what wednesday is!
