Interests: I am very much interested in people, learning their history and truly understanding them. This obsession can be clearly seen in the "Heroes" section of this profile. Also, I am terribly socially awkward, but I enjoy every bit of it. I like to play the piano, talk about predestination, talk about everything is dominated by politics and genetics and watch Reading Rainbow. I also am very good at being not being a conformer. I also excel at telling the truth and in the process hurt people. I cant imagine putting all my interests in a few words, so Ill just stop writing.
Expertise: I have no expertise. I am average at everything.

Does anyone still read this?

Saturday, May 12, 2007

This semester is finally over. I will be going home tomorrow. One of my main goals this summer is to read voraciously especially on topics such as globalization, India  and of course God . I will be working at Comedy Central as a intern in the digital media department starting on the 10th of June. Should be a interesting experience. Hopefully I will be able to meet Stephen Colbert. Its hard to leave a world of independence and freedom but I am definitely not complaining about going home, relaxing and enjoying myself. If tradition continues, we will be playing baseball this year as well with the neighbors and kids from the block. Its funny how we  have been playing street baseball since we were 10, 11 years old, and now some of us are college students while one is a college graduate, but we are still having fun like old times. I will post later.

Working with teens, crazy kids, literally, is definitely harder than I thought.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. I want to wish everyone a early Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I dont have to be back in school until the 20th, so I have a good month off, of which I am extremely happy. My plans are to relax, replenish my brain cells, go to a Knicks game and I am going to spend a week in a hospital working with kids who have physciatric problems. I will be able to sit in their counseling sessions and hopefully I can learn a thing or two from these sessions that I can use. Today, I did the youth sermon in our church, spend a lot of time working on it early morning. I thought it was pretty good and hopefully God used me to deliver what he wanted. Only complaint I got was that the vocabulary I used was too complex. Geez, I hate that. However hard I try to make it simple, I come out in a complicated manner whether its the ideas or the diction. Anyway, I'm going to go listen to some christmas music to calm myself down. Also, reading this great book about the refugee problem all around the world. Its called, Human Cargo by Caroline Moorehead. Hopefully I can buy or borrow some Lee Strobel books about the Christian faith that Alex was telling me about. Peace

Classes are almost over, this semester went too quick, like every other semester. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, the music is sexy, everyone seems to be in a good mood--which pisses me off, but I like to be pissed off--and I get a nice one month vacation. This year though my genetics teacher decided to put the final on the last possible day for finals which is Dec. 20th, so I wont be leaving here till the 21st. I guess its good in a way because I get to study really hard for my genetics class, a class which I am not doing well at all. God is really telling me that stereotypes arent healthy, not all Indians are good in science. But a majority of the difficulty of the class has to do with this school, I was checking out a genetics exam from a different University and I wont mention which one, but their exam(s) are a piece of fruit cake.

I am actually looking forward to next semester. I am taking two classes I think I will like, one is colonial america and South Asian history. That man, John Adams, is a fine individual and plus the history of India is kind of cool. Thanksgiving break was pretty good, I got time to chill with the family and grandparents. My cousin who recently got married invited us over to their place for thanksgiving dinner, there was about 35 people there, so it was hectic but the food was good. Went to church for musical night, what a waste that was, hehe. It was good to see a couple of people though. I remember singing Malayalam songs at those musical nights, ahh the good old days, puberty had to mess it up! I might actually be going to India for winter break but I am really dubious that we will actually go. Thats about it, oh yeah, I have a gash at the corner of my eye, as I hit a corner of one the drawers of my desk which was pulled out, that was some intense pain. Its all good though, besides seeing with one eye is...fascinating. Peace!
