so yesterday i went to play golf with mitchell and michael.. i love playing golf, but i dont get to do it as often as i would like.. so usually the first couple of holes are like warm-up holes, and then the rest of the holes are all played as equally bad as the first few..

anyways, i was the first to drive on hole one.. naturally when i hit the ball it went up really high and not that far out ahead of us.. yea my club face was way open for some reason, i know.. well, the ball decided to land on a group of sitting geese.. i heard the ball hit something solid, not the ground, and all the geese took of running towards a pond but one.. it just kinda jumped up and walked away slowly and sat back down.. so i went over there to get my ball and check on that bird, and as i get closer the goose limps away from and i notice that i broke its freaking leg.. and i broke it bad.. just writing all this down right now makes me feel horrible, but man i felt like crap.. i still do..  it was really hurt bad.. but michael did call the animal people and told them about the seriously injured bird and where it was.. so hopefully they made it out there..

so, we have got to move on.. im standing where my ball is (not too far from where i tee'ed off)  ive got a ways to go to the green, so i got my 3 or 4 iron out.. now there is another flock of geese chilling in the grass about 20 yards in front of me.. my goal is to ideally hit the ball up in the air and lay it down further ahead on the fairway.. of course my plan didnt work.. i hit the ball, its a shot too.. the ball stays about 10 inches off the ground and just goes straight and fast.. wouldnt ya know, that i hit that ball straight into one of the other geese chilling in front of me.. i mean i nailed it!  right in its side.. thankfully he didnt get hurt to my knowledge.. because they all just took off..

but yea, who does that? ive never seen or heard of anyone hitting a goose or any other bird for that matter with a golf ball.. and me, i do it twice in a row, seriously injuring the first one..

hopefully the two birds are fine.. i feel horrible..

so today (saturday) erin's family and i was going to go float the buffalo.. her dad called yesterday evening to check the water level, and it was too low to float.. so we were bummed out about that.. but i gave the idea of floating the mulberry.. everyone that knows me, knows that i love outdoors stuff, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, backpacking, etc... now, the mulberry is the river i canoed at every year during my high school time.. ive floated that river probably about 6 times.. it is in ozark, which is just past russellville and clarksville.. so erins dad checked it out last night.. there is five of us in total, and all they had left at the place was one tandom canoe (a canoe for two people) and three kayaks.. so that fit perfectly for five people, we took it, and we did it.. we left this morning and got there around 9ish i think, i dunno..
so to make a long story short, just know that erin and i kayaked 12 miles today down that river.. lots of good white water, lots of good fun.. dang its hard being a gangsta..
now that im home, all i have left to do is watch chuck liddell rip quentin rampage jackson a new one on the UFC tonight..

i love you stew, thanks for letting me come with you guys today.. it was amazing..

Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul
By John Eldredge
see related

so im reading Wild At Heart again.. we are actually studying it at church on wednesday nights now, which is really awsome because its one of the best books ive ever read that has impacted me in anyway.. this book just makes complete sense to me.. so i will drop you guys off with some knowledge real quick..

"when a man comes to the mountains, he comes home. the core of a mans heart is undomesticated and that is good."
(now i know why i love the outdoors and the mountains soo much)

"the masculine heart needs a place where nothing is prefabricated, modular, nonfat. etc... where there is room for the soul. where finally, the geography around us corresponds to the geography of our heart."

"some women want a passive man if they want a man at all; the church wants a tamed man - they are called priests; the university wants a domesticated man - they are called tenure-track people; the corporation wants a sanitized, hairless, shallow man.  it all comes together as sort of a westward expansion against the masculine soul.  and thus the heart of a man is driven into high country, into remote places, like a wounded animal looking for cover.  Women know this, and lament that they have no access to their man's heart.  men know it too, but are often unable to explain why their heart is missing.  they know their heart is on the run, but they often do not know where to pick up the trail.  the church wags its head and wonders why it cant get more men to sign up for its programs.  the answer is simply this: we have not invited a man to know and live from his deep heart."

so yea, sorry for all the reading, for those of you that read this.. i just love this book.. it totally puts me into words..

speaking of being a real man, my little brother shawn is in Iraq fighting in the war.. i think about him, his wife, and his two little kids every single day.. i pray for them, and i ask that you guys might do the same if you can..

and tonight, me, erin, and her dad are going to watch the Ultimate Fighter on spike.. i love that show.. i wanna train to be a cage fighter.. just like kip..

so tonight erin and I are going to the village to watch a nice helping of  MMA.. what you know about some mixed martial arts?? what you know about being a cage fighter.. exactly, you dont know.. and i do.. so does stew.. so hopefully at some point in time tonight while youre wondering what happened with your life, wondering about stuff you cant even comprehend, i will be at the village watching someone get submitted with an arm bar, maybe a rear naked choke, or maybe even the triangle.. heck, i may see a few knock outs, some kicks to the face, blood possibly, and maybe some broken bones.. either way it goes, its still gonna go down..
